    Wayne please do a "where to save and where to spend" video. I'm sure there are some cheaper options worth having whilst other products worth spending more on. Maybe facial wash for saving and some sort of serum or acid for the products to invest more in?

    • @roseisabelle3439

      Little Voice you shouldn’t save on cleanser that’s the thing u need to spend on for it to work

    • @garmonbozia_
      @garmonbozia_ 6 років тому +56

      I respectfully disagree with spending on cleanser. In my experience, a good cleanser and moisturizer can be found at the drugstore (or drugstore section of Ulta). Cerave Hydrating Cleanser and PM moisturizer are great. I have been advised to spend $ in the middle of the routine (so the C Firma or other serums). That said, there are good inexpensive serums. But I’m almost 40 so I think of it as an investment. For the record, I have combination, acne-prone, dehydrated skin with large pores, PIE from acne, and moderate rosacea.

      Little Voice no problem! I am on a tight budget myself but Wayne is right that the products last almost 6 months if you don’t slather. If I were to get only one DE product it would be C Firma. If I were to get only 2 it would be that and Protini. Hope this helps ❤️

      I agree with ambriel. Any dermatologist would happily point you to CeraVe for the cleanser and moisturizer. Use DE for the serums :-) And I, personally, love Tarte's maracuja oil and mermaid serum (they frequently have sales!) if you can't afford DE marula and b hydra.

    For anyone who is interested, I have had terrible luck with primers. I’ve tried a lot of expensive ones. I’m not sure how, but I tried mixing one pump of Drunk Elephant C-Firma and B-Hydra together and putting on my face as a primer. My foundation goes on smoother, and actually lasts all day. I bought the minis, and they really last. I’m 46, very sensitive, dry, and fair skin. And I use one pump of Marula mixed with Framboos at bedtime. Just give it a shot with the minis.

    Wayne, your skin look maaaahvelous (and so does the rest of you)! I’ve been using Drunk Elephant products since shortly after they were launched. I started small because of the cost (and there weren’t nearly as many products back then), but the results were so dramatic and consistent that I decided I’d rather not buy a lot of new makeup and save that money to put into my skincare instead. I slowly tried (and added) more DE products as Tiffany introduced them. A few times I took a break to use up all the (high end) skincare samples I’d collected from Sephora over time, and while they were very good, after a few days without using DE I could always tell the difference in the appearance of my skin (including occasional breakouts). I’m in my 60s and everyone assumes I’m in my 40s. That’s partly thanks to the luck of good genes, but also partly thanks to my DE skincare regime. I look for other areas to save so I can keep using it. What we put on our skin also affects the rest of the body, so I want to use the safest, most gentle, but also effective ingredients I can, just as I care about what food I put into my body. Thanks so much for helping to introduce more people to this awesome line! You’re such a kind, witty, authentic and gentle soul. ❤️

    Thanks for this thorough review. I have been using the C-firma for 2 years and my face and neck hyperpigmentation has disappeared. For those who are concerned with the cost I will say it is very reasonably priced considering the length of time to use it up. It has reservoir effect meaning that it is active on your skin for 72 hours after application so you can reapply after every 48 to 72 hours. I use mine every other mornings. A bottle last me 6 months, I keep mine is a dark cool place to limit exposure.

    Idk why everyone is complaining about the price.. The price didn't say "affordable" skincare. Also just because you can't afford it doesn't mean it's overpriced.. It's not over-priced.. It works and it's worth the investment.

    • @thomassmaridge1794
      @thomassmaridge1794 5 років тому +4

      Other products that cost $10 work equally well, thus it is overpriced. If I can buy the raw materials and make the product myself for 1/20th the price (and I don't get bulk discounts that manufacturers do), then the brand is overpriced. If paying 10X as much for the same result is worth it to people, then to them it is worth the investment. If someone has the money to not care about price and they like the concept of DE or like the textures, etc....you cannot argue with that. But you can certainly argue that they are overpriced.

    Wayne, quick question on the Tretinoin cream. Do you put it straight into the your cocktail on its own or do you mix it with an activator? I have pharma grade tretinoin and it is supposed to be mixed together in equal parts - pea sized amount with what is referred to as a "blender", it is a opaque type of cream that is mixed together with the Tretinoin prior to application. This is how my derma has had me apply it. Those two products were always used together (I believe the blender may be hydroquinone). Please let me know how you are using it so I can ask my dermatologist if it is okay to skip the "blender" since I would be mixing Tretinoin with other products in the application process instead of applying these two products first and then following with layering products over (thinnest to thickest). I only use Tretinoin at night and use Supergoop unseen sunscreen during the day (year round). Thanks for this fantastic video. I will be sharing with my sister and niece as they are interested in the DE line and I will be picking up one of the DE holiday kits or a full size bottle of B-Hydra and maybe LaLa for my niece (B-Hydra only and her 18 yr old skin - match Made in heaven - stopped her break outs and her skin loves it). Thanks again, your content is always so unbiased and informative! Best, Lynn

      Problem i see with the mealove serum is that it's exposed to air everytime you open it and the more you use more air gets in the bottle. Vitamin c oxidizes with contact with air and gets less and less effective and eventually you won't get any benefits from it and it could actually be bad for your skin to use it. And the bottle isn't completely light proof so light will aslo break down the vitamin c. Drunk elephant has completely opace and a air-thingt pump. But the ingredients looks good. But it will not be effective very long.

      You need time with any vit c skin care to know if its working. I have been using DE C firma for 2 yeas (Use 2 bottles per year) I know Wayne said to only keep it for 3 months however, mine last 6 months and never changed colour. I keep it in a dark drawer to keep it fresh. And since it has reservoir effect, I only use it every 2 days and its turned my skin around. I use to have a lot of hyperpigmentation on my face and neck and its all cleared. My skin texture and dehydration has also improved. Mind you, I don’t use a lot of skin care product so I know that the C-firma did the trick. Warning, sunscreen is a must with this product.

    TIffany is very nice, but her products made my face get more congested and other products didn’t improve my skin at all after using for 3-4 months. When I contacted customer service, they tried to shame me that their products work and I must have been using one of the suspicious six. I definitely had not. So although TM is a nice, intriguing woman, she needs to change the way her customer service deals with their consumers. If you wear makeup and then use her products after and before, you can break out. Unless she comes out with a makeup line sans the suspicious six, people are going to have reactions. Everybody’s skin is different.

      I had a similar experience after I contacted them about the c-firma. I wasn't complaining, blaming them or asking for anything. I just explained that I think mine was off from the start because I've seen the product used on UA-cam and mine was a dark orange from the first use compared to a softer more golden hue that I'd seen online. I mentioned that Tiffany herself has said what colour it should be and so I gave them the number from my bottle just so they could look into it for themselves. I also explained that besides the colour being off, every single time I used it my skin got irritated. Then I would stop using it, irritation went away. Tried it again in a different manner and the irritation came back. And I repeated that several times. In my mail, I explained my skincare regime and that it's minimal, exactly which products I used and the type of ingredients I know not to use. That I eventually stopped using everything else and just the c-firma and that it still irritated my skin. The mail I got back was berating me that it was my own fault that it didn't work for me because their products are as good as perfect and other people love it and basically that it couldn't possibly have been their fault so it basically had to be mine. I was so disappointed by that reaction and I let them know that I was disappointed and surprised by their reaction being so far off the mark. I did get a reaction saying that indeed she has missed the entire point of my mail and she apologised.

Even if the website had a 50% off everything sale it would be a major purchase. The only way I can try this is if it was gifted to me, but then I would not be able to repurchase after finishing it. I’ve always had issues with random breakouts of a zit or 2 ( especially if I wore makeup), redness, and acne scars. Since using DE my skin has never been better. I never wanted to splurge on the high prices either at first but I’m so glad I did. ITS WORTH IT! I never comment on UA-cam videos but I had too on this one. Using this for the past few months has cleared my skin, made me feel like I can wear makeup again without worrying about another breakout. I understand a lot of people not wanting to spend the money (which is okay) but a suggestion if you are Sephora member is to buy it during the vip sales where you can get either 10% 15% or 20% off depending what your status is and like he said the product lasts quite awhile. Anyway I hope this helps!

    Can most of their products be cocktailed together? That’s where I start to get nervous & confused with products like this & The Ordinary etc, & I just give up before I start. What can & can’t be cocktailed together, is this going to stop that from working properly...etc. I don’t want to spend all this money on great products to have them rendered useless by my lack of knowledge. So I give up & just continue using my moisturiser & the odd treatment product here & there. Unfortunately I’m getting to the age where I have to start taking these things seriously though...so is there information provided as to what goes with what or do they all go together?
