    Great advice! Pilots must learn density altitude. I fly a Challenger II on amphibious floats. A 3500 feet density altitude at my 750 foot airport makes the departure end trees way too tall for me. No flying on those days, it’s not worth the risk!

      Oh yea I bet that's a challenge! What engine do you have? Don't you have that 680 or that upgraded 582?

      @@TheJonjonj It’s been a 503 since new in 2004, it’s taken me east to Nova Scotia and west to Alberta. I just built and installed a 582 blue head as I’ll be with a passenger much more now. The 503 long wing will do it, it’s just going to be easier with the 582.

    Great video. Do the math. What weight throws the CG forward of the front limit? It will fly like crap long before you reach that forward limit. Remember we balance the plane for the primary pilot.

    Cool Jon, nice field, reminds me of the field that I'm at, it's also a private runway. My gopro arrived, cable arrives tomorrow. So I'll be making some new videos. My flight to Hastings, my gopro 3 turned off on me. so i'll be making another trip to 9D9. Mid afternoon flight was rough. will do a early morning flight or around 1900 hrs.

    John. It appears your front seat has been raised to accommodate your battery correct me if Im wrong, but you would get a lot more head room if you went stock with the front seat and moved the battery under the rear seat. Cheers happy flying.

      Yes you're correct but I'm okay with moving the box I like to have a higher position in the plane to see more!

    What you are telling us is right. It is difficult for tall and heavy guys to find an Ultralight that fits. I am 1,93m and 125kg. So, to get with an instructor that weighs more than 50kg into an UL with Mtow 472 kg is legaĺly impossible. Long time ago i made a flight in a Quicksilver with instructor of 90kg. We drained the reservoir to 5 liters. For two patterns around the field enough. Now the weight limit in France is 525kg, but nearly all over EU 600kg. The limiting factor is the length of my legs. Most seats or pedals have not enough range to vary. Hitting with the knees the instrument board is not good. (In case of a harder touchdown, dangerous for the knees). So i decided to wait until there is a plane available for schooling that fits me, or i have to change to a Gyrocopter, or a PPG. But time is against me i am 68years old.

      @ralfkruse7565 perfect time to start! I'm debating on PPG myself! Don't let anything stop you! Keep me updated if you end up doing one of them I'd love to see it!

    • @ralfkruse7565
      @ralfkruse7565 3 місяці тому

      @TheJonjonj yes, the other advantage of PPG is that it needs no hangar. Here in two local private fields, there is no space in the Hangars. At Avignon Airport, yes, but 600Euro rent monthly. I will try PPG trike soon, and these things are affordable. And a school is nearby 40km.

    How would you recommend this bird as a time builder and trainer for ASES? I’m currently a Sport Pilot and want to add ASES. Also I’d like to build hours toward CFI-S, could you train someone in the plane as well.
