Ah the memories! Back in the middle 60's we had the more/less mate to this truck. But this body was carried over to early 1947 (first series). Ours was registered as such. My pick up was an early 1946 with unfiled "A" pillars and roof seams. When production was resumed after the war grinding wheels were in short supply and some of the leaded seams were left as is after welding/leading. Mine were very crude. Our was registered as such. This was a 216 with a 4speed and electric 2 speed rear end with a early HOLMES wrecker body. Transmission power take off and a slightly shorter wheelbase. Ours was purchased at an auction originally from a Chevy dealer. It was very useful but by then slow on the highways. Sold to a Chevy collector about 1967, wonder where it is now? I also knew of a similar GMC used as a pole truck in a scrap yard.
When I was younger I was obsessed with this truck but there's barely content of it on UA-cam. Really happy to see this!!
🇦🇺👍love the way the young mechanic has come along way And he seems to really enjoy working on this truck
Yes indeed!
I've worked with a few guys in my lifetime like this guy. they can get about ten times as much stuff done, and done right, than most others.
Ok the truck is life
Morning Pete, you & Clay seem to get along well.. that's great! Being such a young man he seems to have a passion for this vintage stuff
That’s a shame about the glass but that cab is in great shape ,nice find 👍👍👍
Well. This looks like something that the older gentleman would know about. His knowledge makes him a walking encyclopedia 🚦🛺✅
Hope to see part 2 the same truck Jeeper kreeper
20 years ago this culd have been a show on TV. Good stuff
Love. How. U. Make the old. Live. Again Keep it up. Ever ones. Answer is. Ls. It.
The truck in Jeepers Creepers is based on a real car. But the movie uses a modified version of a 1941 Chevy COE (Cab Over Engine) that came with a flatbed frame. It has a cow catcher that the Creeper uses to move bodies to his “House of Pain,” whether they are dead or still alive.
That is one sweet truck.
I love you people who have the great tools and use them. It’s nice to see people who take care of their projects!
CLAY YOUR GREAT!!! THAT SHOP WOULD BE LOST WITH OUT YOU ,, YOU KNOW YOUR STUFF!!! A MAN AND HIS TRUCKS.....
We’re happy to have clay and joe, bill was a great tech for us for 4+ years as well.
That truck is awesome especially with the Chrome. Great job getting it running. Keep up the good work and the awesome content 👍✌️🇺🇲
Thanks! Will do!
Great job as always, Clay!! 😊
That's one very cool looking old truck man it's would make a very cool ramp truck mate
Very cool!!!! 👍👍
ALL Chevy COE trucks of this period were called 2 Ton models by Chevrolet. I am not familiar with the auxiliary gearbox but it is surely an under or over drive unit, probably under drive as you suggested. The shift lever for the stock 4 speed, should be mounded to the metal hump. There was linkage back to a special top on the trans. I have a '46 COE that my Dad bought used in 1950, when I was 2 years old. we have 4 more of the '41/'46 cab overs.
Would be great to see videos of your trucks.
Good.job. Nice truck. Good show 😄👍👍👏👏👏
That auxiliary box is what we used to call a brownie it’s a hi/lo like in a Mack duplex
Nice find Pete, and great job Clay and shane💪👍
🙌🙌🙌
That’s so bad ass
Keep it up brother
Pete, this is Jim from Coplay, PA. That is on the eastern side of PA. First off, I love what you do to these old trucks, keep up the great work! Also, I think Clay was a terrific hire! He may not be articulate, but he is brilliant in the work he does! Love watching your videos.
He’s getting better and better explaining what and how he’s doing things as he does it. Still has not even been here for a year so sky’s the limit
Thank you though he will appreciate that
That young mechanic is awesome 👍💯
Nice workmanship. hope the following video is an old classic van. like a vw van but made by mercy. Finally, this vedio ends beside a classic van.👍🤩
He is a genius men smart very good man
ha! that movie was funny as hell :)
I think it looks cool with the bullet holes in the windshield.
Awesome
Yes, it will run.
if it was my truck I would attach another bed on it to make bigger it would be nice with more room in it.,, awesome Chevy .
When you go to the Carlisle Swap Meet, there is a vender from Ca that strictly deals in rechromed and new classic bumpers that has an all black rig like that old chevy. You probably have seen it there. Bill
Pete might have seen or know who it is we will be at Carlisle this fall also wing by if you get the chance! Different spots this year but we will let everyone know here shortly
Never mind, I found the section where it happened. What about fixing the dent in the hood nose?
Wow l love the way the Chevy
Coe looks big butch & a very manly front, pity they don't make it in RHD , would love
to Cruise the streets of
Melbourne, Australia 😮😁
You mentioned someone who rehoops wheel centers to new rims. I have some I'd like rehooped to 19.5s. Would you please provide contact info for this service?
Great video like always and the truck looks great, she came out beautifully after you freshened her up! It's a bummer that some dummy shot out the front and rear glass but hopefully the next owner will find a replacements and seats.
Kind of adds to the look the buyer was very happy with it
This man needs a dolly when hammering out thoes fenders!! Wouldn't have all those high points where you hammered out the dents, would make it easier on the next guy doing body work!
U should be wearing safety glasses firing up this cool ol chevy
I have suggestion on trying to deal with that carb, modify the damn thing n put a regular chevy intake manifold n eliminate that up draft carb system n keep the vintage truck running for a long time to come
Ya we’ll just let it stick up through the floor inside the cab 👍 sounds like a great plan! Air cleaner right next to your foot, no engine cover, hell ya!
I'd buy it
I see you use sweet patina, is it sticky when dry, does it hold up well to washing or do you have to recoat it, looking to do a truck i have, everyone raves their product is the best, figured best to ask someone who use's it, Thank you
It holds for a good bit never tried washing after a coat but once it cures it is dry the first day or so after might feel a little tacky
@@Ironcitygarage Thank you
...good...
gracias

Denada..
horns & lights?
Jeepers meat wagon fucken rad and rare that's if you can find one
Oh I didn't see that the doghouse was out of it
19:38: you're supposed to compression test with the throttle held wide open...............
Never heard that in my life, don’t see how it would make any difference at all, even my master tech says that’s not accurate
What did you put on the paint?
Lin seed oil.
I would shorten the frame and put a flatbed on it
The music tends to make one upchuck!!!!
Montana , the last best place !
If you ever find any old oil or gas cans.. let Hanna at Cory wheat custom. Know. Her channel is awesome. Lon from Ohio...
Atualmente está com 77 anos ferro nunca é velho da minha idade vai ficar novo de novo que acha!.
А разве в Jeepers Creepers была модель 1946 года? По-моему, 1941-го...
Same Body style maybe a few differences
how much for a late 40s early 50s chevy truck cabs with title
That one was 15k but that’s almost perfect condition atleast perfect to us here at ICG running driving stopping with awesome compression
I would like to know how much you would take for it when you get it running I would take it from you if you want to sell it next month on the 10 and I would have to find someone to bring it to me
Already sold for 15 yesterday before the video
Sell it to you for pennies on the dollar, then turn it for 10x that amount. OK
Guy needs to clean the grease off that right arm.
What's the price on it I am interested in it sweet she is
I didn’t see anyone check the oil. Hopefully, it occurred and wasn’t recorded.
It was shown in between the drain and the adding of new it might have been been kinda quick
OK something this old was built in mine that gas is leaded
it would be cool to put a 12 valve cummins diesel motor in one of the cabover trucks
Big engine for a small space
Why? It would never fit
Hey dude u should of gotten the garbage can first!!!
Looks like he drove thru West Memphis, Arkansas during a BLM protest on the I40 bridge.
Who is the other guy
That’s josh at the beginning helps out some times Pete was on vacation during the unload
I have old 55 corvette engine and trans for sale
you guys interested
You’d have to ask Pete give him a call tomorrow
