Man that monster tree fern/agate cast is just too good to be true!!! I'm so glad you went back to the awesome wood/blue agate hill! I love how the geology can change every 100 feet, i always find that interesting... The rounds are so nice, I love the grain so much in them. Just imagine how much wood is 4 inches under the ground on that hill, probably 5x what your seeing on the surface. 🤯
Yeah I couldn't believe it when I dug that fern out. Was not expecting that at all. This spot has definitely surprised me with so much diversity in a relatively small area. Thanks for watching. Much appreciated!
OMG, excellent finds my friend. Just love your vids. I'm only bout 80 miles from Oregon in far Northern California and really tempted to drive up to see what I can see.Thank you for the videos.Bout 20 years ago I was in the Willamette Valley and found a 7-pound red/yellow agate. It is one of my prized in my collection. Thanx again.
Oh my goddddd this was amazing! Your geology is so different than mine in PA & I’m just mesmerized by it! There were so many cool rocks all around you that I would have been legitimately overwhelmed 😅
What an awesome jackpot man! Your hidden valley is paying off huge! The giant tree fern is outstanding, and that big red one is a serious score! Thanks for sharing. The hardest thing about rockhounding is leaving some behind, but such is life. Later.
Dear, you have better self control and sense than me…I have been so loaded down with rocks that I make my way back to my car taking 3 steps at a time. ⚒️😣⛏️ That’s a great haul. Beautiful material too. 🎉
So rad ! I'm out in Sunriver, me and my lady go out all the time, we're just starting to really dive deep into all this. You ever link up with other people? Was thinking of checking out a gem show to meet people. Sweet videos!
I see all kinds of Native American artifacts! Even some of the ones you kept, they are carved to look like an animal, or most all have a face in them! I could go crazy there!
Wow Jay, what an amazing day out in the woods. The Fern cast is simple amazing. I find similar material down here in a location near Lost Creek Lake. I think that a lot of your wood it looks more like oak than sycamore. The radial pattern in sycamore is really wavy while oak is straighter and displays a distinct turkey feather pattern. Always enjoy your videos and hopefully someday we can meet up and do some hounding together.
Yeah that fern was a total surprise. Thought it was a big agate. Glad it's tough. Watching the extraction makes me cringe. Just scrapping my hammer across it. Looking forward to a future hunt too!!
Had to get back out there! I still have a bit of terrain to explore that I haven't hit yet. Probably do one more trip to this area before the rattlesnakes come out in spring.
We are totally flabbergasted by the amount of beautiful float material you find, and toss aside! We're heading to the area for a couple days this week, are willing to share any low elevation spots to look for small but pretty rocks?
Yeah there is so much. My home is out of room. We have to be picky now. Just about any blm land in Crook County has potential. Crooked River gravel can have many surprises and is easy to access. Just head out of Prineville up the river and anywhere there is gravel in the roadcuts or river bed you could find some goodies. The land around Prineville reservoir has lots of stuff too.
Lots of hiking, Google Earth and BLM/FS maps. Always checking that next hill over goes a long way. An area can be boring and then across the drainage on the adjacent hills it can be phenomenal. I don't let empty patches discourage me or make me think there's nothing to find.
What’s happening brother? Love your content. Just an FYI petrified wood has different regulations. As other rocks. Do not you’re only allowed to collect so much petrified wood a year although it’s awesome content I don’t post. None of the wood I find. Because what I’ve seen them do to people I know that took too much home file a claim, and you can take as much as you want home keep up the hard work and if you’re ever near Boise, let’s hit up graveyard point I’ll show you some awesome stuff
What's up man. Thanks for looking out. I'm aware of the regs. I don't really hunt wood much. This is a winter spot that I'll ignore 9 months of the year because too many rattlesnakes and its really hot. I don't take most of what I show. Only the select, choice pieces. I wonder how the agate casts are regulated. Are they considered wood or agate? Would be interesting to know. Would love to get out to Graveyard at some point!
I’m so glad you kept the tree fern!

The best discovery of crystal stones, friends ...Very inspiring and useful ...Always 🇮🇩💎⚒️⛏️😍👍👍
Thank you so much!
This is becoming one of my favorite rock hounding channels. Nice finds!
Love to hear that! Thank you so much!!
This is what Rockhounds dream of at night! Nice job!! 👍👍💚
That's true. I dream about collecting crystals a lot. One thing that's not super common in Oregon so my subconscious has to remind me at night.

This spot is turning out to be great! It's a perfect winter spot. Too many rattlesnakes in the summer.

😂 I love it, "just 10 more steps" I'll be up there next weekend with my wife and dog's. I love you're video's man and congrats on the awesome finds...
Famous last words just stop looking down don't look down anymore I don't want to care anymore don't look down wait there's something cool there

I love watching your videos. I live in Central Oregon too, I think pretty close. I enjoy watching you hunt on days I am stuck inside due to snow.
Thank you! I'm just north of Bend. Had to skip this week. Too cold out there.

Some absolutely amazing finds there! Keep your cards close to your chest and don’t lay them on the table (but you know that!).
Good call!
Would love to see some slabs cut sometime if possible? You find some beautiful pieces.
Wow, would love to see some of those pieces slabbed up. Nice work yet again!
Thanks! I'll try get some chopped up.
Thank you for sharing
I like to carry a stiff nylon brush to help remove dirt. Saves on water. What a fantastic local. Thanks.
I just got one this week to clip on my pack. Too much hand scrubbing!
This is an amazing spot
Awesome finds , thanks for sharing.

Dang ,, the ones you throw away would be on my shelf ha ha ha ha but that’s for real
I'm out of shelf space!
I love the one you left! Great finds. I just got back from the area and found some nice pieces but nothing like those.

You are rolling in rounds! Amazing finds!🌞
Stoked I found that little patch. Amazing how much wood there is and how few rounds there are.
Wow, was that return visit worth it! I had so hoped u couldn't resist digging up that red whopper. 😮🎉

That big one looks like a piece of corral
That crossed my mind. I need to have these identified!
Wow!!!! I really need to come down there and explore!!! May seems like a good time!
May's a good time usually. Might even find some morels while you're out hunting agates.
@@itslattice4195 nice!!!!
Last one was beautiful but I don't blame you for not wanting to haul it out. It looks really heavy😮💨
Dude! Let’s go Rockhounding together sometime! I live in Bend.
Right on! We'll have to plan an adventure.
@@itslattice4195 Heck yeah dude! What's your Instagram handle? (Trying to figure how to get in touch without posting our emails on here)

At 6:00 was sweet
How do you go about finding places like this
Lots of hiking, Google Earth and BLM/FS maps. Always checking that next hill over goes a long way. An area can be boring and then across the drainage on the adjacent hills it can be phenomenal. I don't let empty patches discourage me or make me think there's nothing to find.
That's a little bit of allright
