Hello everyone, In this video I am going to show you how to configure load balancing on tp link omada er605 vpn router.
What is WAN failover load balancing ?
WAN failover is a mechanism that automatically switches from one internet connection to another in the event of a failure. If one of the WAN connections experiences a downtime or failure, the system seamlessly switches to the other functional connection to ensure continuous connectivity. This is crucial for maintaining network uptime and avoiding disruptions.

Thanks for the walkthrough. I have the same exact router. While the failover works, it doesn't revert back to the primary WAN when it comes back online. Any suggestions or pointers, would be really helpful!

Whether you keep the fail over check manual or automatic, it will not make any difference.

Static ip configuration is working but dynamic ip is not work how I will configure dynamic ip or PPOE (DSL) mode......
This type of load balancer dynamic ip configuration possible???.....

Seems such a waste for the Backup WAN only being utilized when the Primary WAN gets disconnected. Wishing the ER605 unit has WAN Link Aggregation feature wherein it can use all connected WANs at the same time. If any connection fails, the total bandwidth just gets reduced and Internet access still continually works as long as there is still one WAN connection working.
I am using ER605 with dual wan configuration. All i can see is at the connection level WAN aggregation is happening and load balancing. I have two WAN one with 380 Mbps and Other 120 Mbps. At any single connection max speed that i am getting during speed test is 380 Mbps (Primary WAN MAX). When you open multiple connections and do the speed test the combined bandwidth is around 480 Mbps, so i can confirm both the WAN is actively used during high load.

4:10 - To use both connections together for a real load balancing that combines speed, do NOT check the "Enable Application Optimized Routing" box and don't add any rules on "Link Backup" 4:25 👍🏻
@@wlan0 If you are talking about Link aggregation group or link aggregation control protocol, there is nothing in ER605. When you check speed test, the system creates multiple application link with the speed testing server (nearly 8) and then takes the average speed.Example, when you connect 2 WAN port with ER605 router, 4 application layer link will establish with WAN1 and 4 link with WAN2 server for speed test. When takes average, you feel speed is aggregated.Actually LAG feature not in this ER605 due to its CPU limitation.

It took 5 seconds to switch to other link. If you are a CSR this doesn't help you. your call has dropped. Spedify is better than this
Did this router works on 2 or 3 wan in to single lan with all combine speed?
I have try this idea, 2 Dynamic WAN bandwidth aggregation works but sometimes it not work properly.

How do I add up the 2 wan speed, what configuration
@wirenetwork...I have 2 broadband connection of Same Isp those are 1000Mbps and 300Mbps, I have connected 1Gbps connection in to Primary wan of Er605 omada router and 300 Mbps for wan2 interface...both have configured pppoe mode ...and 2 lan ports of er605 router connected to 24 port gigabit tp link switch respectively, from the switch through CAT6 cable I have connected 23 routers from 24 port switch
Giga bit all ther routers which connected from Switch is configured as router modem with different management ip.....but the result am getting that it's that no internet, when I remove from switch to er605 router it will start working ....pls help me on this issue which am facing

I have a connection with gateway 192.168.178.1 and another connection with gateway 192.168.1.1. What should I put as IP address in WAN1 and WAN2?
Configure Primary Internet connection as wan1 & configure your back up internet connection as wan2
@@Wirenetwork ok but I don't know what value to enter as static IP in both interfaces. I know the default gateway, but which IP address should I put for WAN1? (gatway 192.168.178.1) And which IP address should I put for WAN2? (the one with gateway 192.168.1.1)
call your isp for know your wan ip addresses
@@Wirenetwork both ISP provide a dynamic IP...
Then you configure WAN1 and WAN 2 as dynamic IP address
