- Hello, in this video we will be taking a close look at this October & November issue of Dennison’s Party Magazine from 1927 🎃 Dennison’s Manufacturing Company sold crepe paper and made this magazine in the 1920s to help sell their products and give advice for hosting festive parties. This issue is from the middle of prohibition and during the height of speakeasies- apparently there were around 32,000 speakeasies in New York City alone around this time ❤ I like thinking that the person who first bought this issue was a glamorous flapper ☺ thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a relaxing rest of your day or night :) ❤❤
Fun facts about the publisher of this rare book: Dennison's has been around a very long time and still exists in name today. Founded in the 1840's, Dennison's was a rather large corporate entity by the time of this featured publication; they focused on manufacturing numerous paper products including novelty magazines. 150 years later, in 1990 they merged with the Avery Corporation - to become "Avery-Dennison" that specialize in business and domestic-related products, including the focus on all varieties of popular labels that many of us use for a multitude of purposes today.

What an incredible and rare find! Perfectly themed and mostly still relevant to this day. The magazine is almost a century old!! I like how the art of the magazine is more authentic and "creepy" compared to more cartoonish and "cute" modern Halloween art. I am a sucker for all things Halloween. What a treat! Did you know that book is worth upwards of $350!?!
I imagine she does, considering her other magazine collectibles... an earlier video she featured a 1932 Vogue summer issue with a superb Art Deco cover illustration. Something like that would be of equal value. I've collected a number of vintage magazines over the years at auction, so yes - many iconic editions are now highly prized and if carefully chosen and preserved, will now increase in value over the years.
