Really want to try this product, but the price is ridiculous. I've read mixed reviews about this vanilla extract, but most have been positive. Thanks for this review 😊
Increased Standards I really love the flavor of this vanilla, but I agree that the price is absolutely ridiculous now. I now use this one for things that the vanilla flavor will truly shine through in- Pound Cake, Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream, etc. Chocolate Brownies get a 1/2 teaspoon of another brand.
That will work, but what I’m saying is in things where you will really taste the vanilla, use this one, especially if vanilla is the only flavoring that you are using. When I make something where a small amount of vanilla is used in conjunction with other flavors, use a cheaper pure vanilla extract. When I make chocolate brownies, chocolate is what you taste and just a small amount of vanilla is used to enhance the chocolate flavors, use the cheaper vanilla. McCormick pure vanilla extract works well.
The fair trade organic version is really good as well ! Believe it or not Whole Foods had it the cheapest of all places for me.. 24dollars total same size at WS 32.95 and more at King Arthur and Amazon .
Hi Phyllis! I’ve been looking for a set of long narrow tea spoons like the one you use with the vanilla bean paste. Do you know where I might find some like those and if they are called something specific?
I’ve had those measuring spoons for at least 35 years- almost as long as I’ve been married! They came with a measuring cup on a little wooden stand. They are my favorite ones ever! My hubby bought me a set a couple of years ago that are kind of like these, but on a ring. We took them off the ring. I believe they came from Williams-Sonoma and they are spice jar spoons meaning the scoop part is long and skinny. Cuisipro has the top rated spoons for Cooks Illustrated. You might find some like mine at a yard sale, thrift store, junk shop. Good Luck on your quest!
Erenst Lawyer Vanilla extract gets its flavor from a vanilla bean sometimes referred to by the place where the bean comes from. However, French Vanilla gets its flavor from the French method of making ice cream by using a custard base which contains eggs. French Vanilla is not an extract. It is more of a rich custardy flavor that has vanilla in it. Hope this answers your question.
Hello 👋 One question. What about the after taste of alcohol ? I did see that my local store carries it but I read on the back label it has 35% Alcohol although I really want to buy first I would like a little review on that please thank you 😊
Postres Beatriz Figueroa, in my opinion, the alcohol taste is not noticeable. For a product to be labeled “pure vanilla extract “ it must contain at least 35% alcohol. The taste of the vanilla really comes through in this extract. I’m certainly not an expert, just a home cook with an opinion on something I really like.
lil keyy Smith it is not sweet. The price has skyrocketed on this brand since I made this video. I almost passed out when I saw how much it was a few weeks ago.
I could listen to your accent all day long! Lovely! God bless!
Siralc you are so kind!
Sainsburys (UK) sells this exact product, I was looking at it yesterday and that's why I had to watch your video! Lovely accent mamm
daniel price you’re so sweet! The flavor of this vanilla is worth the price to me so I’m hoping you will think so too!

@@sissyjollie That's brilliant. So, if I'm understanding you correctly, you use this brand and a half tsp. of another brand together in your baking?

@@sissyjollie Understood. I have a bottle of McCormick's Pure Vanilla. I love it. Thanks so much for the suggestion 😊

I made whipped cream with the paste and there was no alcohol taste at all.

+Phyllis So happy to hear this. I'll be purchasing this vanilla. Thank you so much.
