    I really appreciate you doing the quick back to back sound tests after the full individual tests, so many youtubers don't do this when discussing multiple changes so you have to swap back and forth between timestamps manually to try to compare.

    Thanks for the informative video. After getting into the custom keyboard rabbit hole as a new interest I noticed it was pretty uncommon to find any info on the “standard” order of the layers so I mistakenly ended up installing the big “keyboard” foam pad (not the individual foamy thin switch pads) on top of the plate. So I have to take everything apart 🤦. However I have seen some UA-camrs do it like I did…? Have you tried it the way I’ve explained? Great video. Do you know if it is possible to remove the silcone dampner on the kbd67 llite? I just asembled a KBD67 Lite R2 with Durock V2, Boba U4T, GMK WoB and PE foam modded it. I have a Tofu with same switches, keycaps, centre posts drilled out and pe- foam modded and to be honest I prefer my the sound of my Tofu. However I think its due to the metal case and I have the kbd67 V3 case coming in a few days so I am expecting the KBD67 to sound the same or nicer than my Tofu. btw - my Tofu did not sound nice until I pe foam modded it.

      @davieslm 2 роки тому

      @@tjptech5206 My V3 case arrived yesterday and I much prefer it to the ABS case. It does not bend in the middle and looks /feels nicer. I have been told the silicone dampener is needed as its part of the gasket mounting system.

    • @goonfish
      @goonfish 2 роки тому

      @@davieslm yeah unfortunately, unlike their other gasket boards which come with seperate strips you stick on yourself, the entire silicone pad _is_ both, the "gasket" & the plate support on our 67Lites. Ive been considering possibly just chopping the gasket nibs *off* of the whole pad itself, and only using them. But then I'd need to use some kind of plate-foams between the pcb+plate for support. And I'm not entirely sure how stable the assembly would be after the fact.
      If you're rolling in enough dough that you can take the loss if there are unforseen consequences, the hobby would be super grateful for your sacrifice! And hey, who knows; if it does work than we finally found a way to keep the gasket-mount while maintaining a full-range of acoustics!

    knowing this will harm your pcb when doing it incorrectly with the pe foam make me really dont want to try it. not to mention that some pe foam we find from the market maybe anti-electric, if you accidentally mess up, some keys wont work
    and from your explanation, seem pe foam will make the kb sound "popier" while actually im just trying to dampen the sound down
    but it's fun to learn more about kb and sound
    but pe foam still can be useful
    the 2mm foam i got from internet isnt fit to my rk g68
    the pe foam still can be put in the case to be less hollow, and also you can use it for preference since some foam actually is unable to look through, lol. and i dont want to cut that foam into pieces much
    the kdb pads seem is the most safe mods. but dang, the delivery at the place i live is having hard time bc of quaratine. besides, seem it doesnt affect much as i expect (from your video)

    Tape mod actually sounded the best lol I like clack pe foam is being over used it makes all boards character lost it does sound good but the switch sound goes away and just true into a thicker thock sure thock is good but sometimes it'd to much a nice pop/clack imo has character and life lol if anything I hear people say the lbd67 lite has plenty of thock I don't see wanting more lol at times its to much imo but it sounds good sure but gets old quick the more thocky builds/pe foam builds you do the more you will end up swaying more towards clack it always happens everyone wanna thock at first thne overtime the clack is what starts attracting people lol

      Maybe it’s not so evident in this video but they do sound different when you actually hear them side by side but with all other variables being the same. I do PE foam mod if I want to shoot for a thockier sound (making sure that I use switches and plates that creates thockier sound as well). I would use switch pads for clackier builds but to further help reduce hollowness.
