I might suggest that an overhang at the door gable end to cover the area when the doors are opened. Helps keep the inside dry in inclement weather. The larger the overhangs everywhere the better.
It really looks great Kevin. A friend of mine owns a gun shop and he made the whole thing from two shipping containers, it’s amazing. Thanks for sharing this amazing transformation. Be well my friend.
You sure it’s not Big Foot that been coming around. LOL. Its coming out great. It was nice how you could stand on the roof of the container to screw the sheet panels on.
Great job! I'm looking to do the same to my 20 footer. How did you bolt the notched boards to the roof? Did you bolt through the roof skin or go into the solid beam at the edge? Thank you for any guidance you can offer.
Awesome Job! Looking to do this to span 16ft from outside edge of a container to inside edge of container (8ft apart from another) My question is how did you account for the tiny 1" lip probably 1/16th inch deeper from the solid beam, to the corregated stuff welded. (looking at planing it) and I am using 4x6's . The tiny lip makes it hard to get it level. Thanks for any advice
Well, my friend. For claiming not to be a carpenter you sure did a hell-of-a job on that project. Looks like I got a hammock buddy to contend with with that bear roaming around. Think it's a Black Bear?
Kevin, I have a 45' High Cube shipping container (CONEX) that once I relocate it on my property to a concrete pad, I would like to do what you're doing with yours. I am in the southeastern part of NC and do not have to worry about the snow loads like you. The rains and the hurricane season are another story though. Could you tell me the height of the verticals on the one side? I would like to go out 20' on the shed roof side to have "walk-around room" on my trailers that will be parked under there. You claim to not be good with wood or metal. I wonder what your definition of "good" is? You have done some amazing things in your videos. Those paw prints are of a pretty healthy black bear.
Thank you for the info on the saw blade grinder attachment! VERY helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for the comment and watching.

Definition of a Carpenter : a person who makes and repairs wooden objects and structures. I think you qualify, nice job
Thank you 280zone
And I thought you said you wasn’t a carpenter, LOL!! Looks like a fine job to me brother! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you Paul
Is the cargo box on a concrete slab or sauna tubes?

Thanks Hatch, it's amazing what people do with these containers, thanks for watching.
Got the shed looking good. You've saved a lot of money so far. You've got yourself a big bear looks like.
Thanks William, Rick saw the bear a few days ago i think it is a big one.
this is good stuff. what screws did you use to secure wood to top of container?
A woodpecker blade (carbon toothed) on your mini grinder would be faster and more effective than the chainsaw blade
It looks great Kevin!!
Thanks Wayne
Hey Kevin that lopks great good job bud. I guess ole Smokey wants to supervise your work at nite .👍
Thanks Gary
Another amazing video Kevin !
Thank you Gary

LOL it might be bigfoot you never know, yes standing on the roof helped a lot and better than a ladder
How did you fix the beams to the container?
Self-tapping screws.
thanks for sharing your experience with this. knowing nothing about roofing, is there a particular reason you went with such a steep pitch?
Just for the snow and rain to run off.
Thanks for this tutorial. It's the first and most useful we're seeing. Are those solar sheets?
No solar yet coming soon thanks for the comment.
хорошая идея
Thanks for watching.
what is the link for the chain saw grinder disc
Great video! How did you attach wood that you notched out to top of container? Thanks
I used self tapping screws to screw the wood plate down then i nailed the rafters to the wood plate. Hope that helps you out.
How did you fasten the 2x4 to the container?
Self tapping screws.
Do you have the plan with sizes?
No sorry I just built it.
Since the roof and sidewalls are not designed to take a load how did you transfer the roof load to the corner posts?
The outside frame is solid so it held up great
S&W MOD 44 Magnum would scare bear for sure.
Yeah i don't like him hanging around, don't want him to get my chickens.
Would be great to see you using hearing protection
For sure thanks for the comment.
What is the pitch
Old vent thanks for the comment.
Don't let Stumpynubs see you use that tool. He'll tell you how horrible you are for using it.😂
Lol thanks for the comment.
I am surprised your using Poplar for construction lumber. I guess it is what you have available.
Yes it is what i had available and we have a lot of poplar trees here.
Rafters should sit on top of the wall................not butted up to it. And....beams sit on top of posts...not nailed to the side.
Thanks for the comment

I bolted to the solid beam at the edge

Thanks for watching
keep your eyes peeled with that bear out there!
I know i hope he is afraid of people and keeps his distance

Pliss can u help me by giving the timber measurements you used pliss
Not sure what measurements you are asking about, on the roof?
Well, my friend. For claiming not to be a carpenter you sure did a hell-of-a job on that project.
Looks like I got a hammock buddy to contend with with that bear roaming around.
Think it's a Black Bear?
Thanks Ruben, i think it is a brown bear Rick saw one up the road a couple of days ago.
👍😎
Thank you M Ten.

The high side of the shipping container is 3 ft to the peak.
@@Robinson-Homestead Thank you.
How much did this cost you
Round $4000
that blade basically paid for itself just doing thoses cuts
Yeah it did for sure.
U probably need a permit to do that
Not for this one.
"Wow" coming on grand fella . Be safe with that bear loitering around
Thank you
