You’re getting to be a professional carpenter. looks great. I like the way you were you nail bag. I built a 20X24 foot shed and I use all screws on it.
I’m glad you got some help. That’s a lot of work to be doing by yourself!!! I was hurting just watching you get the first rafter cut. That up and down kills me. Your project looks great 👍
When setting post's it's much easier to run the tops wild then level two outside post's with site level, Auto level Snap a line and cut with circular saw, hand saw. Or chain saw.
Looking to do somewhat of the same thing with our 40' High Cube container in Northern Nevada. We were thinking to ad a "2 bedroom/2bath bungalow on the front (south facing) with greenhouse. Like a modified Earthship style home. Great video! Thank you for posting!
That sounds really cool i would love to see it when its done, would be better if you could do it on video.Good luck with your project and thanks for watching.
I know this is an older video and hope you see this comment. How much did the roof over the shipping container help with the heat in there? Im in florida and just got a 40' and the heat is terrible in there
I like the look of the addition to the shipping container and I need to get a sloped roof shed put up to store some of my John Deere riding mowers in and I'm going to use all sawmill rough cut lumber for it, even though it's going to be out of square using sawmill lumber but it won't matter for something like that.... I'm just going to dig out my holes with post hole diggers like you did in the video and stand me up some four before posts and concrete probably just five of them having three across the back and one on each front corner and put up about a 8/12 pitch and maybe even a 12/12 pitch but enclose the back side completely and both ends and figure out how to keep the weather from blowing in on everything but I wanted like 24 ft long and either 8 ft or 10 ft wide but I may not go quite as long on it and possibly go deeper from front to back but see how much lumber I've got available to me before I set it in stone on what size I'm making because I'm doing it as dirt cheap as possible because it may just be temporary for two or 3 years
Looks good Kevin I love burgers I have to watch everything I eat now high sugar got it under control now fat intake is too high went from 185 to 150 doctors will kill you.
Nice build. Great to have a place to work and get out of the rain. You are making a lot of headway on your homestead. Thanks for sharing! Stay safe.

Tom, yes or sure it has been so hot and the roof will be a blessing.
Alot of work Kev looking good gonna be a Hot week coming up maybe a little cooler under there when you take a break 👍
For sure thanks for the comment.
Why not have two containers with a 12 foot space in between ? Then roof the whole thing. Twice the containers and still an open area.
I would have loved that but the containers are expensive.
And didn't have a lot of room.

The roof is so nice it helped in the summer keep the heat out And the winter keep the cold out.
And it don't sweat.
Thank you for the comment.
Did you notch the sill on top of the container? 4x4?
No i didn't it was flat so i just layed the board up there and screwed it down.
