Sorry bro

Everyone is laughing at how easy this song, but none of you can make a song this epic with simple chord, bassline and drum beat
About a complete tragedy
Indeed
Bruh who's here from rabbids 2 after hearing the jukebox or playing the level
Hi I wanna mention that I’m learning the bassline for this song, and it’s probably the part that moves around the most in the verse. It’s so hard to the point where I’ve made a edited version of the bassline in the verse just for that
@@mostly_chaos i knew a guy in highschool who could play this behind his back, though he definitely was built different cause he could also do a rubiks cube behind his back in under 30 seconds even if someone else jumbled it up.. kid was a freak lol
On the afternoon of Dec. 4 1971, Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention were playing a show at The Hourglass, a ballroom at the Montreux Casino (Switzerland). At about 4:15PM, a "fan", who had brought a flare to the event pulled the string igniting it and setting the room ablaze. Fortunately, only three of the approximately 2,500 people in attendance reported injuries and those were relatively minor. The Casino burned to the ground.
The guy who brought a flare gun must feel mighty proud to be an inspiration for such an iconic rock song...

Deaf people
Oh i love this
i mean, if you play it loud enough on good speakers, a deaf person can actually 'feel' the music.
@John Ryan Parman, some people actually made a short designed for deaf people for music

The lyrics tells exactly what happened when the band went to Montreaux for recording some music andsomeone put the place on fire with a flare, they had to move to somewhere else.

Undeniably, it brings all the energy to the guitar riff, and during the guitar solo, it's doing a walking bassline. That's some sick songwriting, shows the power that a great bassist can bring to the band.

That funky bass groove...oh yeah....
So glad my dad introduced me to this music. Nothing beats the gritty feel of classic rock. I remember singing Pink Floyd in the car on the way to school when I was 8. I love all kinds of music, but rock will forever hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for the upload. :)

@@cristinafreire1454 It's a classic, sorry you don't like it. Not everything is for everyone. You are allowed your own opinion, but when you call a Legendary song "a bore" you are doing WAYY too much. Same here. I was a teenager when this came out so of course I've heard it a million times, but it wasn't my type of music and I never really paid much attention to it. Today, only a half a century later, I read the backstory and came online to give it a listen. Better late than never, I suppose.
What is the back story can I ask?

Claude Nobs was the founder and general manager of the Montreux Jazz Festival. In 1971 Deep Purple decided to produce and record their album Machine Head in Montreux. The group was scheduled to record at the Montreux Casino shortly after Frank Zappa performed. During Zappa's performance, the casino caught fire, and was reduced to ashes. Nobs saved several young people who had hidden in the casino, thinking they would be sheltered from the flames.--Wikipedia. Some of the audio from the Zappa concert can be found on UA-cam. Claude Nobs died in 2013.
I've been listening to Deep Purple since the mid 70's and never knew what the hell they were talking about until today. Thanks man!

I found a good article about the Montreux fire about a year ago when "funky Claude" died. Apparently, the fire wasn't started by flare gun, a person that was there said he seen a kid flicking lighted matches into the wooden rafters right where the fire started.

One of the greatest rock songs and riff of all time.
This song is totally badass. I lovethe buildup in the beginning. Sure the riff is simple but it's all the guitar work in between that give the song so much character. Black Sabbath's 'Iron Man' was my first riff .

A great song, inspired by a traumatic experience in 1971. Very well done!
I still remember the first time I heard this song. I was staying the night with my best friend in 1998, and he would turn his stereo on at night and fall asleep listening to it. This song came on, and I immediately fell in love with it, wondering how I had gone that long without hearing it.
You should have in 1972 WOOOW The NUKE
Was expecting the original guitar solo and got blown away with this version!
This has to be one of the top songs in rock history!
Thanks Jan!
***** You're welcome, Sue! I think a lot of people have forgotten this great classic. It's probably one of the first songs that new guitar students learn.
Jan Hots and learn wrong, even though it sounds ok. Many beginning guitarists take the opening riff as a power chord, when it is not; it is a perfect fourth interval, meaning you only play two strings instead of three. It still is easy, but many budding young rock guitarists still play it wrong.
lawrenc1 Is there sheet music available, so people could learn it correctly? Or is it the way they play the written music that's wrong?
It is very easy....I think the proper tab is available online. However, I would say the proper way to play it is similar to the most popular way I have seen it played. Instead of picking a power chord, pluck a perfect fourth in the same fret pattern...there is no need to make a bar chord or to use two frets at any time.
I think 1980 music is a lot better than today's music
how relevant
Well, there's still SOME music today that is good. You just have to work harder to find it through all of the crappier music that people seem to enjoy. Why can't we go back to the days when Iron Maiden was still popular, Slayer was still infamous with its almost satanic views, Metallica was actually well-known and where, if you asked someone what their favourite genre was, they'd most definitely say, Rock or Metal
why are all of you fucks so pretentious? a song doesn't have to be rock to be good. if a song- ANY SONG- is good, you should feel pride listening to it. not it's genre
ThePastaNerada Fucking thank you.

Finding good current musicians isn’t easy but those you find make it just that much more rewarding. The indie ones are often the best ones because they actually try to put effort into their craft and aren’t tied down to big corporations that want ‘safe pop music’. Or they actively put messages into their lyrics.

Smoke on the Water" is a song by the British rock band Deep Purple. It was first released on their 1972 album Machine Head. In 2004, the song was ranked number 434 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest songs of all time, ranked number 4 in Total Guitar magazine's Greatest Guitar Riffs Ever, and in March 2005, Q magazine placed "Smoke on the Water" at number 12 in its list of the 100 greatest guitar tracks;"Smoke on the Water" is known for and recognizable by its central theme, a four-note blues scale melody in G minor, harmonised in parallel fourths. The riff, played on a Fender Stratocaster electric guitar by Ritchie Blackmore, is later joined by hi-hat and distorted organ, then drums, then electric bass parts before the start of Ian Gillan's vocal.
We all came out to Montreux, on the Lake Geneva shoreline
to make records with the mobile, we didn't have much time
-Opening lyrics
Jon Lord doubles the guitar part on a Hammond C3 organ played through a distorted Marshall amp, creating a tone very similar to that of the guitar. Blackmore usually plays the main riff using a finger pluck] or occasionally a plectrum upstroke (to accentuate the tonic).
The song order is intro(riff)-verse-chorus-riff-verse-chorus-riff-guitar solo-riff-verse-chorus-riff-organ solo. The first solo is performed on guitar by Ritchie Blackmore, and the second and final solo is performed on an organ by Jon Lord until the song fades out........awesome riff

According to Wikipedia…
Deep Purple are an English rock band formed in Hertford in 1968.[1] The band is considered to be among the pioneers of heavy metal and modern hard rock,[2][3] although their musical approach changed over the years.[4] Originally formed as a progressive rock band, the band shifted to a heavier sound in 1970.[5] Deep Purple, together with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, have been referred to as the "unholy trinity of British hard rock and heavy metal in the early to mid-seventies".[6] They were listed in the 1975 Guinness Book of World Records as "the globe's loudest band" for a 1972 concert at London's Rainbow Theatre,[7][8] and have sold over 100 million copies of their albums worldwide.[9][10][11][12] Deep Purple have had several line-up changes and an eight-year hiatus (1976-1984). The 1968-1976 line-ups are commonly labelled Mark I, II, III and IV.[13][14] Their second and most commercially successful line-up consisted of Ian Gillan (vocals), Jon Lord (keyboards, backing vocals), Roger Glover (bass), Ian Paice (drums), and Ritchie Blackmore (guitar). This line-up was active from 1969 to 1973, and was revived from 1984 to 1989, and again from 1992 to 1993. The band achieved more modest success in the intervening periods between 1968 and 1969 with the line-up including Rod Evans (lead vocals) and Nick Simper (bass, backing vocals), between 1974 and 1976 (Tommy Bolin replacing Blackmore in 1975) with the line-up including David Coverdale (lead vocals) and Glenn Hughes (bass, vocals), and between 1989 and 1992 with the line-up including Joe Lynn Turner (vocals). The band's line-up (currently including Ian Gillan, and guitarist Steve Morse from 1994) has been much more stable in recent years, although keyboardist Jon Lord's retirement from the band in 2002 (being succeeded by Don Airey) left Ian Paice as the only original Deep Purple member still in the band. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Purple
