Claude Nobs was the founder and general manager of the Montreux Jazz Festival. In 1971 Deep Purple decided to produce and record their album Machine Head in Montreux. The group was scheduled to record at the Montreux Casino shortly after Frank Zappa performed. During Zappa's performance, the casino caught fire, and was reduced to ashes. Nobs saved several young people who had hidden in the casino, thinking they would be sheltered from the flames.--Wikipedia. Some of the audio from the Zappa concert can be found on UA-cam. Claude Nobs died in 2013.

I went this vacation to montreux in zwitserland and I learned something about this song.

Jan Hots and learn wrong, even though it sounds ok. Many beginning guitarists take the opening riff as a power chord, when it is not; it is a perfect fourth interval, meaning you only play two strings instead of three. It still is easy, but many budding young rock guitarists still play it wrong.

It is very easy....I think the proper tab is available online. However, I would say the proper way to play it is similar to the most popular way I have seen it played. Instead of picking a power chord, pluck a perfect fourth in the same fret pattern...there is no need to make a bar chord or to use two frets at any time.

Grade school was fun the girls told me I was cute with my IRISH Freckles on my face. 8th grade not just me there was a girl looked like Steavie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac. 70s Catholic school. So much Catholic being Catholic 14 years old drinking Beer. Again this was the 70s. Very strick School all Nun Teachers. I heard girls like IRISH Men. It does suck most people think all IRISH are Drunks. I admit IRISH are Different born with Red Hair. Hey we got are IRISH Dancing. That thing Boys hate REDHEADS is an IRISH Myth. THEY say REDHEADS are extra Fiesty in the bedroom. Us IRISH have our faults our skin burns easily in the Sun. Thats weird were not born with Freckles we get them from the Sun. Freckles in IRELAND are called ANGEL KISSES. I am Proud being IRISH and knowing my limits with Alcohol.

The weird part is that this song has one of the most known guitar riffs in history, but what really gets me pumped up is that bass in the beginning (yeah, and the guitar riff too, but that bass line should be more famous)
