Andreus Where are you, in the UK? I just had to laugh because I'm based south east of england and all we ever get is rain. To be honest though we've had about two to three-ish months of just hot sun & no rain. But these last couple days have just been rain.

Same here. I live in Western NY at the shores of Lake Ontario and we have gotten our share of severe thunderstorms that left a significant amount of damage. One of these t-storms was created from several cells over the lake and they turned into a bow echo. The lightning was crazy. There have been small F-0 or maybe even F-1 tornadoes in the more rural areas. As long as there isn't too much damage in my neighborhood, I LOVE big thunderstorms. I used to be scared of them if one happened in the middle of the night, lol.

Yeah tornadoes are scary and yet cool, seeing a giant black funnel heading towards you destroying anything it goes over, the clouds are pitch black, the background sky is orange, high winds, scary stuff , but what makes it cool is the thrill, the excitement oh and stay the hell out of the tornadoes way especially the F5
I've never experienced that type of storm cell here in Sweden. We can get some sudden thunderstorms in the summer, but nothing near what you guys get over there.
its absolutly insane. its sorta scary but fun at the same time being in your basement just sitting there with your iphone and playing games whilst a crazy storm is going on outside.
We have an ideal combination of warm air coming up from the Caribbean mingling with the west-to-east movement of the cold jet stream from Canada. The two systems interact at right angles over large areas of open plains. Hence tornadoes everywhere.
I'm so jealous. I use to live in Florida and we would get some great storms. Now I live in Portland, Oregon where we get none! I miss them so much. It's an exciting adrenaline rush when the sky would start to get dark. Guess I'll have to go on a storm chasing vacation now.

Oklahoma does have voice-capable sirens in OKC, and a couple in Moore and probably some surrounding areas. Not sure if the voice function is ever used but they definitely have them
+BOB!theGMObanana well I live in Moore and have yet to hear them so they don't use them if they can but there's really no need. Anytime its on other than 12 on Saturdays then there's a tornado warning.
Elizabeth_958 OK does have many others but downtown OKC has a Whelen
I live in Houston Tx and I’ve never heard a Tornado Siren so for someone like me being told that that’s what siren is for it would helpful cuz otherwise I’d be like Wtf is that noise
I live in Verdigris, and I have a siren right behind my house and I'm so glad it doesn't have that voice thing because I would get annoyed (they test them every Wednesday at noon during the spring and summer)
the tornado siren was in the best protection tone... if you were looking for the tone look up Best Possible Protection Tone.
I'm fairly certain you got the tornado on film at the beginning of the clip. If so, those sirens were too little too late for sure.
Wow, that's scary man. Glad y'all made it out safely!
We are monitoring a severe storm in the area now. Stay tuned for further details to come.
Wow I can't belive you can hear the transformer from the distance😳
is that good or bad
+Noah Cook that's bad lol
+Gabby Harmon they heard the sound of the transformer blowing up from that distance after a lightning strike.
Awesome footage. I went thru 2 tornadoes in Lubbock: May 11, 1970 and May, 1987. No sirens sounded either time.
Lubbock on 5/11/1970 and Saragosa on 5/22/1987?
Old school siren is WAY better. When combined with those dark skies, wind, hail and lightning...strikes fear like no other.
Holy shit are you kidding me u actually have a thing that gives u voice messages for tornadoes thats awesome i wish they would do that for ohio and our region
They do do that for Ohio, all u need is an iPhone or android
No I'm talking about the siren itself xcremedy89 ohio doesn't have talking sirens I know the phones can do that but I'm more of a person that wants something like what they have in the south
Oh sry John I thought u were talking about phone notifications
Jon Lyons The sirens here in austin are like beep meep beep eek! The national weather service has issued a TORNADO WARNING please take shelter. This storm is moving at blah blah blah mph and has winds of blah blah blah mph this storm may include hail, strong winds, and heavy rain. I repeat please take shelter thank you goodbye beep meep beep eek!
Jon Lyons It depends on what type of sirens you guys have, mechanical or electronic. Mechanical sirens are powered by motors and have no speaker, Electronic on the other hand is just very powerful speakers, those sirens talk to you.
Those "voice of God" type sirens are so fucking creepy. If I heard one go off in the middle of the night, I would end up filling my underoos, and not because of the danger from the tornado.
If u are in a car when the tornado warning goes off if u have the seats that go down hide under those
+Kristin Ethier How on Earth that would help?
That goes on the list of things to not do.
If anything you drive away, go somewhere for shelter, or park your car somewhere near a ditch, get in it and hope for the best.
I was 3 when this happened I used to live in Texas and I actually remember the sirens going on and I was crying my eyes out it is such a scary memory
This video is the best example of what a forming tornado sounds like.
