Reverse bay parking was my absolute nemesis as a learner but now I just won’t drive into spaces, always reverse in everywhere as it’s so much easier! I did always wonder how you get in an end space though so thank you🙌🏻
I find this so helpful! I can confidently drive on routes, highways and busy roads, but small spaces and parking in reverse are something I always avoid (even asking someone to park for me), so I thank you very much and I'll put this in practice
I passed my test today with only 3 minors without any practical lessons in UK as I was using my international licence and no instructors were ready to give me a couple of lessons. Your videos really helped me to know everything in detail. Thank you for all your videos and your way of explaining.
Rich, thank you so so much! You're the first channel I found when learning to drive and you've provided a wealth of knowledge. I passed today with 1 minor and would not have been as confident if I didnt have all these videos for reference! For anyone taking their test, you can do it! Stay calm and remember the examiner is on your side. You got this!
Thanks so much for making these videos. Your work is much appreciated. I passed my driving test several months ago. Did all my parkings perfectly. It's been months since I last practiced reverse parking, & I don't have a car to practice with yet, so I'm just watching this to familiarize myself with the process for when I have to park for real 'cause I'm buying my first car soon.
Thank you so much for the tips, have been an anxious driver/learner and got my license back in June, still very nervous but getting more comfortable and confidence as more time goes by, from Australia, thank you again x
Thank you so so much!!! You’re a life saver! Watched all of your videos which has been of much help. I passed today with 3 minors…thank you so much…God bless you sir..Guys the test is not as scary as some instructors make it look, no examiner is out to fail you, just drive, observe and plan and you’ll be fine and also watch and practice CONQUER DRIVING videos…the best out there!!!

I have my test in a week's time, the only thing I'm worried about is the maneuver. You have no idea how happy I am to see this video as my instructor has gone on holiday this week. Thank you!
wow this video is so timely. I commute to my campus daily and since returning to school over a month ago, I have only reverse parked once (out of fear of hitting other cars), but I don't like that since I usually park forward, when I am leaving I have to reverse out on a relatively busy road. Ive been forcing myself to reverse park in my driveway when I get home to build my skill but I do it by trial and error and I think not knowing how to use my mirrors properly make it harder. Will go to a parking lot and try learning to use the mirrors and hopefully build the confidence to reverse park in my university lot for safety. thanks for the video!
I passed my test with 6 minor faults last Thursday and have to say your videos have been a major help. In the meantime, will continue to watch your channel and future uploads/posts. So thank you for these videos, brilliant instructor. My instructor taught me to use the clutch 1st and I did use that method in my instructor's car for the practical test but in my car, using gas then clutch is definitely much better. Haven't stall once since being used to setting the gas first then clutch.
I have my driving test tomorrow and i have really bad anxiety but you always sound reassuring and you're like a kind and considerate second instructor haha

I just passed my driving test last week and I want to say thank you for your videos. I watched your videos 2 days before the test and it is really useful and helping me to pass the test.
There is a reason why you are one of the best Instructors I have known! I passed my driving test in first attempt and one minor fault. A huge thank you to you and your channels! Came back to further learn the parking skills now 😅 and am sure that I am going to stick around for quite a while now. 😊 thank you Richard! @conquerdriving
Brilliant channel, really helped me out loads coming from the bike to a car. Passed this morning after 15 hours of lessons. Cheers, keep up the cracking work. 👍
Thank you so much for all of your videos! I passed my test here in Spain in >Sept but still watching you for tips! When you said there were two options when there was just that one space at the end of the car park, I thought, yes...Drive away or drive away. But very good idea to just go to an empty car park to PRACTISE!
really useful tip about reversing to the driveway. I’m always going more forward / further from my driveway and reversing that way. Next time I will try your way
I learned reversing skills by having to parkin my very awkwardly angled tight alleyway slightly uphill garage. It's a nightmare but now I can do it first try and am better at other awkward areas.

Thank you thank you. I am doing the parking now on my lessons, but, I never been told about how many lines I should count. So, I was doing all the manouvre but I had no idea where my spot was….. for parking

I learned the 3 line technique just to help pass my test. Then when i bought my first car it was a little shorter and when doing the 3 line technique in the carpark at work i ended up turning too shallow and cutting the line everytime. I practically ready to do my exam! Just need to find one in this mess 😂 I just wanted to say thank you for your amazing videos, they've been incredibly helpful
Thank you for your advice. Actually when I passed the actual test here in UK, I always thought the technique of the 3rd line reference is always okay in all situations until I drive in tight soaces, angular soaces, etc which I really struggle especially when the driver at the back is not patient.. so I started to forward bay which is quite the fastest way. And yes I agree different cars different feel especially in manoeuvring Thanks again for the video
I passed first time yesterday! Big thank you to you & your very helpful videos. Amazing tips and very clear and easy to follow. will still continue to watch for fun now 🤩🤩.
I can't understand people who always pull forwards into parking spots, its way easier to get out of a spot if you back into it. You can see more and you're not blind backing out into possible moving cars or people. Been driving for almost a decade now but its always good to review the basics every once in a while.
13:58. I wanted to ask more about reversing into the driveway. You are using the 45 degree method which involves driving to the other lane, which, as you said yourself, may not be possible if it is a busy road. Your suggestion in this case is to drive forward to the driveway. However, if I still want to back into the driveway (in my case, my neighbor's SUV is parked in a way that blocks my visibility of the traffic such that it is dangerous for me to back out of the driveway) , I guess I'd have to use the 90-degree method, which seems to be something you disagree with to start with. But is there a way to use the 90 degree method to back into a driveway, without the stall/bay lines to guide you when to stop (3rd line, for example)? I read somewhere that you can start to turn the wheel all the way to the left/right (depending on where you back into), when the back bumper is aligned with the second edge of the driveway. Is that something that can be used? But then the question is how to tell, when sitting inside the car, that the back bumper is aligned with the edge of the driveway... If this is a topic you can explore a little bit, that'd be great, although I need to transpose everything you teach to right-side driving.
Using the 90-degree method is more challenging because knowing when to start steering is a bit of guess work and there is a lot more angle to change on the way back. But a good rule of thumb is to get the space behind you but not very far behind and start steering. With practise you get to judge how far to drive past the space/garage before reversing and steering. But it's different in all cars.
I had a similar issue. I used the three line reference point during lessons and the car park used during my test had a cross hatching for kids/disabled users between each bay
Thanks for this video, it’s fantastic so helpful I followed your instructions and I parked my car from the first time just a question do I need to signal while parking this way?
0:33 I know that you can also count 1 and 1/2 of cars (or 1 and 1/2 parking spaces) from your parking space so that the B pillar (or the half of your car) is right by the emblem of that half car that is right by you . It is the technique that I use and it works all the time like a charm
Really helpful video this, quick question what about dry steering?? i was doing this the other day and was told I shouldn’t! Whist doing a 3 point turn or parking, Thanks for the helpful content 😊
Do you think you could make a video with the basic parts of a car and what new drivers should know and expect? I'm thinking things like how to check the state of your tires, the tire pressure, look under the bonnet and understand what each component is and does, how the check the oil etc. You have a nice way of explaining things and I think it would be beneficial to many beginners.
9:31 This is the method I use to park my big car in the last tight space next to the wall every day. Sometimes people don't understand what I am doing and beep at me as if I am crazy. This video is one of those real-life scenarios that the driving instructor didn't teach in the lesson.
I have not not got the Luxury of having atomic dipping mirrors so have to do it manually my now x ford works van use to have a Lower mirrors with were very good for revising
Do you have other videos about reverse bay parking that advise you on how to park without counting lines, but in a situation where you can't go into parkings in front of you to adjust? I get confused when I don't know which linez I can see in my mirror, how much space to leave between the car and the bay, and when to start steering.
Everyone gets confused about the lines at first. I have a revising playlist that may help. Generally speaking you only want to use the lines in mirrors when you're less than a 45 degree angle to their spaces.
Love your videos. Have learned a lot. Thank you. I have one question. Isn't it bad for the tires if I move the steering wheel all the way in either direction whilst the car is at a standstill? My tires make a squeaking sound when I do it. How do I go about this?

If you look at the videos through a mirror it seems more ‘natural’ for left hand drives. Just think left when he says right and vice versa.

Thank you so much brother it really helpful to me appreciate all your videos
Thank you Sir...Best instructor 👌👌
Do you think you could make a video with the basic parts of a car and what new drivers should know and expect? I'm thinking things like how to check the state of your tires, the tire pressure, look under the bonnet and understand what each component is and does, how the check the oil etc. You have a nice way of explaining things and I think it would be beneficial to many beginners.
I may do in the future thank you, this video may also help though ua-cam.com/video/42aDwWpyX-k/v-deo.html
9:31 This is the method I use to park my big car in the last tight space next to the wall every day. Sometimes people don't understand what I am doing and beep at me as if I am crazy. This video is one of those real-life scenarios that the driving instructor didn't teach in the lesson.
When looking at the parking lines, are your mirrors tilted towards the ground? Are there visual markers to help us without adjusting them downwards?
Thank you very much!
wow thank you so much, this really really helped me
I have not not got the Luxury of having atomic dipping mirrors so have to do it manually my now x ford works van use to have a Lower mirrors with were very good for revising
Am confused is this in terms of the 90 degree method or when you get the space behind your car
Thank you very Much for the tips this was really helpful 👍😀
First! Sheesh i also struggle on backing up so this is helpful.
That's a very different technique to the one you taught us all in Ace Ventura Pet Detective, Jim. Liiiike a glove, alrighty then.
😂 Thank you for watching, you must have watched a lot as I recognise your name from previous comments.
Love your videos. Have learned a lot. Thank you. I have one question. Isn't it bad for the tires if I move the steering wheel all the way in either direction whilst the car is at a standstill? My tires make a squeaking sound when I do it. How do I go about this?
Thank you, my car has 176,000 mile on it now, dry steering doesn't seem to affect it. I recommend this video ua-cam.com/video/BCEgIlgjS_8/v-deo.html
Brilliant. Can you also do, how to do forward parking and exist also when parked in forward ?
These two videos may help
