I don’t care what the critics said, Seventh Star was an AMAZING album.
It's a great album indeed, but the thing is that it got unjustified hate... The production was poor, the marketing was done in a bad fashion, Glenn was struggling with alcohol, Iommi was fighting for making it a solo album away from Black Sabbath's shadow... But it stood the test of time...
yes, the 1000 copies of it sold backs that up 😆
@@onerandombruhIn my opinion if the production is poor it's not a great album
Glen Hughes great singer and such a class act. Just a genuine guy
We don't hear enough stories about Ronnie, I'd love to hear more from Glenn, I could listen to him talk all day.
I would also love to hear more.
RONNIIE WAS A TRUE HARD ROCK SINGER KING !!
LOL I was just saying that right before I saw your post.
i know Im asking randomly but does someone know of a way to log back into an Instagram account??
I was dumb forgot the login password. I would love any assistance you can give me
@Mustafa Beau Instablaster ;)
We need More videos of Glenn Hughes. I would like to hear more Ronnie James Dio stories
i'd love to here stories of any of these guys! i sadly wasn't a part of this generation so i didn't get to see any of these guys:P

but don,t be worry .
we,re lucky to understand their amazing music.
robot x625
0:54 you cant duplicated OZZY
sounds like Glenn was blown away by Ronnie's talent as we all were
That song seventh star is brilliant. Glenn Hughes has done so much good stuff.
when I was still on Facebook I asked Glenn a question about a certain bass he was playing in a photo and he sent me a nice explanation about the bass and was really gracious and down to earth. He also answered questions I asked about Trapeze and John Bonham .
Glenn still has it. Listen to any of his recent performances of “Burn”, he can still hit that high-pitched scream.
Glenn Hughes is a such a nice guy.As well as wise and respectable in music industry. Please do more videos with him,he's cool.
I would just like to take this chance and repeat some of Glenn's words: "When I listen to Fused now, with Kenny Aronoff on drums and Tony and I and Bob Marlette producing and playing Keyboards. My god that's a great album, it's a really good album."
Glenn is a true legend. Hes a gentleman and a class act, and i personally love the seventh star album. Hes in his 60s kicking ass and he still sounds great.
I completely understand why Dave Holland was removed from the mix when Tony decided to release the DEP sessions, but another casualty in all of that was Don Airey: You can barely hear him in the mix, and of course, there were a few things that were changed from the "Eighth Star" bootleg that they were discussing. Fans definitely owe it to themselves to find a copy, which absolutely blew us all away when it leaked. As a brave survivor of the Sabbath show in Detroit in '86 -- "Come on, Glenn!" -- "Not the Same" absolutely resonated, and he references the whole experience in this interview ("I was not the man I am today.")
And that decision did not age well as Dave turns out to perhaps not have done any of those horrible things he was accused and convicted of.
Either way, Tony messing with the Original recording and redoing it was a crime as that recording session was brilliant with everyone, including Neil Murray (aside from the at times quiet drum mix). I can only hope he still kept it as it was and acknowledged all this.
I LOVE Fused..."I Go Insane" has my fave Iommi solo EVER...GREAT record.
Re-listened to "I Go Insane" after reading your comment. You're right man, that solo is perfection.
I love pretty much all of Iommi's solos...but that one really threads the needle...The emotional level is beyond the pale.
Good way to put it
Awesome song , killer arrangement !
Glenn Hughes, what a voice ! What an incredible voice! Not a bad bass player either.
This video made me love Glenn even more. He´s a lovely, lovely guy (I´m stealing his own words about Ronnie, whom I love too). Loved his work in Deep Purple and absolutely loved The Seventh Star. (EDIT: I noticed I used "love" too much, but I´m not changing it).
Saw Purple on the Burn tour in ‘75 with Elf & ELO. Hughes and Coverdale nailed it!
"Sharon didn't do this on purpose... "
Oh, we all know that's not beyond her at all.
Yup. I despise her so much now that I've taken to calling her "Sharon Arden." Cuz we all know her dad was a MAJOR fucking asshole, and Sharon sure turned-out to be her father's daughter.
She disrespected Glenn and she owes him more than an apology for it.
Much like she blocked Black Sabbath from using the name on The Devil You Know album...
Lovely to hear a bit about the background for FUSED. It's a phenomenal album ("Grace" is one of my favourite rock songs of all time), and such a shame that more wasn't made of this at the time and subsequently, although it's great to know it has a good place in the hearts of those who know it. To Glenn and Tony, IF you're ever in a position to work together again please do!
''-Well, before you were born - '85
-I was born '81''
damn
I graduated high school. The class of 81 is like the cut off between the two worlds of rock
I was born in '55. Still love rock, country folk, some jazz, and many others.
Glenn rules, i could listen to him all day.
He's spot on about "Fused". Great record.
Fused is an awesome cd. For all Glenn fans, you owe it to yourself to check it out. At least the epic, and I hate using that cliched word, "I go insane"; but it is a masterpiece.
Glenn Hughes has had such an amazing career and rightfully so, I could listen to Glenn talk all day
Glenn, when Covid is over, you and Tony should tour 7th star , and tracks from Fused and the Dep album, and you sounded great at the live tribute to Ronnie (the H+H gig) Dio you sounded great, so could throw some of that in too. NB some of Dep is superb🙂👍🙂
That Heaven And Hell tribute at High Voltage was amazing. A fitting send off for one of the greatest vocalists, by another great one (and a drunken Phil Anselmo to fuck it up, but whatever). Happy memories.
"Fused" is criminally underrated, great album!
Im sure i used to drive my neighbours mental back in mid eighties playing Seventh Star and the first Phenomena lp constantly. Glenn you're still a fucking legend mate.
The most elegantly delivered introduction to a Loudwire video, ever
Fused is one of my favorite albums ever, just an amazing album!
Another Hughes/Iommi album - I'd play that
I actually have always felt bad for Glenn having to agree to do a Sabbath album. He was not comfortable doing that at that time. On it's own it's a very nice album actually but I always felt bad for Glenn. I absolutely LOVED Fused and I am very into Glenn's other music. Very unique voice
While it's always great to hear classic Sabbath perform together, I hate that it prevented Glenn + Tony from touring for Fused. That needed to happen. At least we got the Heaven & Hell reunion shows after that, those were some of the best moments of Tony & the band's careers. Hopefully we hear more from Glenn and Tony again.
Leave it to Sharon to fuck thinks up
I luv the way he says THE most important thing
Glenn's a gentleman!
James Dio was the best singer of Black Sabbath story!listen Heaven and hell Amazing song!
Dion ruined black slabbath DONT TAKE WAT I SAY SEEOUSLY DIO RULZ
+Finn Kellmurray dion ruined bas salad
Ozzy and Dio were both just as awesome in Sabbath but in different ways
Alexis Alescio Hello🙌Oh, I love Ronnie, Fantastic with Emotion, Gestures, Chills brings him 🤘Is a Lovely Man, « Heaven&Hell, ☀️I’m love all song, but , « Last in live, Holy Diver » live 1986🥰🎶WOUAH, Perfect, Magnificent, Powerful, the KING for all time and today year 2020💕I’m listen RONNIE with PLEASURE🤘🌈😪🤣😷Bye
James Dio, huh? Well, alrighty then.
Love the Seventh Star album - I was a junior in high school when it came out
What a legend
Such a gentleman.
That's awesome. Been listening to Seventh Star and Fused recently. Both great albums.
Seventh Star is one of Sabbath's best albums, in part due to Glenn Hughes' amazing performance.
JJ Vladimir worst*
I didn't like Seventh Star at first, because it lacked the heaviness of the earlier albums. But then my tastes changed a bit. I started to appreciate Hughes' powerful voice and the expanded palette of Iommi's playing. And the songs themselves really stick in your head. Go back to it in a few years. You might hear it differently.
Very true. But whether Seventh Star is credited to Iommi or Sabbath, it's still one of my favorites, right up there with Eternal Idol and Vol 4.
And it's worth noting that pretty much every Sabbath album from Seventh Star until 13 has a lineup with only Tony as the original member. (With the exception of Dehumanizer, which reunites the Dio era lineup, and Cross Purposes, which has Geezer.) Record company decisions aside, one could argue that those are all Iommi solo albums in a sense. All those Tony Martin albums sound more like Seventh Star than anything the Ozzy lineup recorded.
I really like Cross Purposes. I even like Forbidden (although it had to grow on me.) There's an alternate mix of Forbidden floating around on UA-cam. No vocals but the music sounds way better than the official release. Alright Iodinesoul, have a good one.
Fused is one of my favorite cds.
Great Glenn! Loved to have seen you with Fused on the road. love your work with Tony, love your voice, Soul Mover!!!
I remember wanting the vinyl of Seventh Star.
I don't know, somehow allways that guy makes me happy without saying anything special, bombastic or so!Glenn Hughes is one of those people that bring light in your darkness!Why-i have no clue!SO KEEP ON ROCKIN' AND PLAYING AND TOURING,GLENNIE!!!AND NEW ALBUM WITH BCC - PLEASE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
Glad to see his friendship with Dio.
Do what you can to check out the “ Fused “ disc. It’s a masterpiece. I’ll never understand why some” business” folks don’t promote more Glenn and Tony projects. “ The Seventh Star “ is another amazing disc!
I really like the DEP release as well.
I was listening to an Eddie Trunk show where I heard Don Dokken describe Glenn's ridiculously talented singing abilities as him being a black man in a white man's body.
What an amazing and powerful voice and great to hear him provide insight into the history of rock and roll.
Fused is the greatest rock album of the 21st century. Criminal that it was never toured.
Liked before viewing of course
Love how the Cannock accent keep popping out 🤘
Would’ve loved to hear that Tony Iommi solo band perform live, with Hughes and Kenny Aronoff. Shame on Sharon, only wanted a cash grab.
Yea wasn’t Glenn the bass player and vocalist for Trapeze? Madussa was an excellent album
Glenn Hughes has a new album out soon called "Resonate"!
Tony is great
"I was born '81" haha
i heard that too haha
LOL
Such a legend. Have you seen him with Disturbed at Hellfest? Awesome.
Best hair in RNR
I confess I didn't like Hughes' voice at first with DP (and Trapeze), but with Iommi he sounds great. And somehow he sounds better now than he did as a young man. It's supposed to be the other way around, isn't it?
freak of nature but great for the fans
A good one!
Dude! I want that Judas Priest shirt! I wonder what it would sound like like if Coverdale did something with Tony Iommi?
Gleen rules...
Glenn could have been such a great Sabbath vocalist!
*****
When?
+neun Arme born again album, if im not mistaken
1000parsley
Born Again was sung by Ian Gillan, actually. But great record, anyway.
+1000parsley its seventh star dude(and eighth star(demo))
you are gravely mistaken
It's too bad Glenn never mentioned how he loaned Geezer his Ric bass for the Never Say Die show. I would have like to know more about that (unless it's in this interview, which i have yet to watch in its entirety).
You CAN duplicate Ozzys tone, my nephew does it hallariously.
un copado
meu amorzinho
I'm a huge Hughes fan I adore this man but one thing I dont understand is he says he wasnt great guy back in the 70s and 80s and yet he says alot of the people he knew back then are still his loved and dear friends to this day. Now my question is being a drug addict and abit aloof about it back then I know from experience unless you are a king or something you can have that many close friends through out your life so what is his secret ? What gives? That being said Glenn hughes is very talented love the guy! \m/
Glenn was in a bad, bad place in the 80s. Iommi had to replace one of his best friends behind his back. Ray Gillen followed the band for like 5 or 6 shows, on stage, watching Glenn sing, learning the lyrics and melodies. Glenn was the last one to know he was being replaced, and still, he invited Ray Gillen to sing in Phenomena II, or Tony Martin in Phenomena III. Right before Ray Gillen passed away of AIDS in 93, he spent a couple weeks at Glenn's house in LA trying to improve his shape. Thats the kind of guy Glenn is.
Fused is an all time classic album....highly recommend
On Deep Purples behind the music,I remember Glenn telling that when Purple were in concert with Tommy Bolin that sometimes fans would chant "we want Blackmore"and Bolin would react by flipping them the bird.
3:54 *burp*
LOVE " Fused. " It's a great disc! If some of you would like your own copy, check out discogs.com. I got it for a great price-- Amazon is raising its prices, especially for out of print discs. All of the stuff Tony and Glenn did is awesome. If anyone wants more Glenn interviews, there's some stuff he did for Joe Satriani's " What Happens Next " on Joe's You Tube account. Cheers!
Hi glenn,is he Catholic? It looks like a saint candle on the amp, cool
2:25 oh sure Sharon didn't do this on purpose 🙄, everyone knows why she is, and we know Glenn can't say the real reason behind not having a Fused tour.
"Sabbath fans are so... so amazing". That's a nice sentiment, but we're not. We're a bunch of poisonous freaks. Anything not Sabbath for the average fan is trash. And that's all outside the fan club. You get in to the Dio/Ozzy debate and there'll be blood.
Leonel Cantú de Llano Dios the best
Entendi.
I'd have to disagree with Glenn about what he said about Ozzy. I can do one hell of a Sabbath Ozzy. It's not really that hard.
Mr. Da Vois
Every UA-cam video has been poisoned by trump ads.
Sharon the golddigger
I heard Glenn could not put the crack pipe down
You heard wrong powder in the mid eighties 😂😮
dio - hobbit confirmed

Good interview but Glenn seems to be turning American, calling folk Jack asses ha ha
What a strange man. This guy's from the West Midlands, Cannock I believe, why is he speaking with such a fake accent. Bit of a joke really. Not impressed at all.
Are accents supposed to be impressive?
Jesus Christ, that interviewer is a major dweeb. And you viewers out there thought that Graham "Gruhammad" was bad.
These Loudwire dolts lose the plot pretty quickly when talking to anyone who made a record before 1995.
I think Seventh Star kicks ass
