    Nice, I’m always excited to see AC3 stuff from you Jcers. Some nice technical stuff that most don’t usually get to see on tree routes. AC3 still has the best animations in this series EVER, bar none.

    • @jcers

      Actually, having some semblance to Tarzan was something that the AC3 dev team was very fearfully trying to avoid happening, so I imagine the exclusion of any music with similar vibes was extremely intentional, haha

    Rn I’m replaying ac2 the ezio collection and I have a question. I have only the leather greaves on because I don’t like all of the armor and I’m about to have all keys to get the armor of altaïr. If I get that armor and switch back to just my leather greaves, will the upper half of the armor of altaïr be used for the upper part of ezio body while the greaves are still on or I will still be only to use the greaves

    I wonder if you can do those little hops like Bruce Wayne on tree branches. They're a bit longer than the geometry he uses, so the timing might be tricky. I see a couple good spots for catchbacks too. Does AC3R have less mist in the Frontier?

    • @jcers
      @jcers  Рік тому +2

      Things to test out for sure. I think there definitely is less mist in the remaster but this was like in the very early morning when I recorded this, so the mist content is much higher than normal

  • @takemikazuchi7
    @takemikazuchi7 Рік тому

    hey jcers i have a question
    in the video u made about parkour ranking it results that your best/fav is ac2
    but if ac3 have the best animation in the series and it's also more expressive and controlable even from the unity and further. why is it not your favourite one
    i mean, it have the best animation and it still have the ac2 mechanics. it's about the safe parkour? cuz it still have side/back ejects, speed, but much more (vaulting, tree parkour, mountain climbing, house travels, etc.)
    even if you explained by the categories, still doesn't make me understand how ac3 is not your fav :)
    not trying to change your opinion on your fav of course, and love your videos bro

    • @jcers
      @jcers  Рік тому +1

      The main differences come in 3 different categories. AC3 is more similar to AC2 than is Unity, but the mechanics are still quite different. AC3 restricts animation cancelling while AC2 doesn’t. AC2 has always-available, button-triggered catch ledge and AC3 doesn’t. These two mechanics already make a huge difference for me. AC3 does make some additions, but removing these two is a major loss that I don’t think the system’s additions sufficiently make up for.
      I also just prefer the way Ezio feels to the way that Connor feels. Ezio’s more weighty feel makes me feel like I have a little bit more control over him than I do Connor. The jump targeting system is also a lot less snappy in AC2, which I appreciate. That goes beyond me feeling like I have more control; I just straight up have more control over Ezio’s jumps than I do Connor’s for this very reason.
      The world design in AC2 is also just far superior to that of AC3. I don’t think AC has ever nailed level design for parkour like they did in AC2.
      Hope that clears things up. Thanks for commenting :)

    I knows I’ve tried running up a wall jumping it many a time like that, but it never worked. Any trick to why that one did?

    • @jcers
      @jcers  Рік тому

      Could be a lot of things. Could be that you're not pressing the button at the right time. For side ejects, I find that you either need to cancel early or try to press the button right at the top of the wall run, when Connor puts is hands on the surface. The second issue could be in relation to the direction of the movement inputs. My friends have been telling me that they've had the best success with getting the LS to be at a 90 degree angle from the direction of the surface (relative to camera angle, I believe). Try those two things and let me know how that works out for you.

    • @incrediblecaptain
      @incrediblecaptain Рік тому

      @@jcers it was definitely a timing issue. You just have to initiate it early. Makes it less useful then the back/side eject in the Ezio Trilogy, but still a nice piece in the arsenal.
