      Thanks! You can definitely tell that it's harder to move than mild. I'm looking forward to that power hammer being finished too make things easier.

    A monkey tool is used for squaring the shoulders on a tenon, isn't it? Which part of it is traditionally drifted? The ones I've seen before are essentially round bar with a hole partially drilled lengthwise.

    why the hell are you using this toy hammer? 1,5 kg would be the minimum weight for this job

      It's 13mm 4142 I've never felt the need more than the 1000g hammer I'm using to move medium carbonsteel that size.
      1000g let's me swing quickly and accurately. I can swing longer and move more steel with that weight than a 3-5kg hammer.
      When I do move up to bigger steel that needs a heavier hammer, I normally get someone to strike for me with a sledgehammer.
