Sir this video helped me a lot specially for understanding uk method with unopposed and opposed traffic lanes. I was struggling for two hours to clear some doubts, also downloaded RM Kimber report 67 but it was quite unclear for me. Thank you for this video.
Many a time approach width is increased at the exit to get more flow at stop line. This width is slowly tapered to the normal width in a small length. This is called flaring of the approach.
Thanks Vishnu. Your question is quite natural. Please appreciate that the first edition of US HCM was published in 1950 and India published its first manual in 2018. US manual has undergone several revisions after 1950 and methods have been updated based on the research done in last 70 years. We have published the first edition and will be updating it in subsequent revisions. I hope you understand now.
Sir please upload video on bound granular bases (using emulsion and cement on wet mix macadam ) what factors govern the strength and how much thickness can be reduced using bound bases,
Webster's original equation of 1966 is S = 160w, where w is the approach width in feet, It is S = 525w, when w is taken in meter. Further research in UK over the last two decades has refined the methodlogy and this equation is no more in UK manual. Refer: Transport Planning and Traffic Engg by C. A. O'Flaherty.
Very knowledgeable and will help traffic designers.
Thanks for your nice words

I am glad to know it. Keep watching
What is flare effect in here??

Again a very good session Sir thank You so much. I have one question why us HCM has many factors and indo hcm has less??

@@SatishIITR yes sir agreed to the point

I uploaded one video on cement treated base layer. Your suggestion is noted.
Sir what about intersection handled by traffic police
These intersections come under the category of variable cycle length and green ratio.
@@SatishIITR please suggest some literature on this topic in Indian condition
some people give this formula s=525w, then what is this!
