- Ezekiel & Kiyanna Azonwu have been married for 15+ years, and in this episode they talk with the Perrys about things like attraction, discerning who to pursue romantically, maintaining intimacy in marriage, and flourishing in Christian community. Did they get married too young? Is it okay to care about aesthetics? Would better discipleship in the church lead to healthier marriage relationships? Together, the Azonwus and the Perrys tackle these and many more questions about sex, dating and beauty.

If a woman gets MORE beautiful within a marriage, her husband/marriage has created a wonderful environment/life for her to bloom
Oh I love how you phrased that. Amen. How beautiful 🌸🏵
That's word right there!
Yes and those that look tired, depressed, less taken care of are in abusive marriages.

You have a new subscriber, are you going to post more vids?
"Falling and going back, hurts more and cost more." Ezekiel, That's sooo good!!!!
I love the husbands talking about the attractiveness of their wives
Because men are given the excuse to be visual, that part of the conversation is extremely typical.
@@MsJennDefinerofSelfand you're so above it.. You go girl
I think the video playing mid church was God saying people see you praising me loudly but I see what you do in secret 🙃
😭
They asked Kiyanna how she was able to deal with Ezekiel's struggles, and in answering that she took accountability in how she didn't help him with it. That is true love man
I love this because even though Jackie rip the Band-Aid off and tell Ezekiel to tell his story, you can tell by their laughter and the way they can talk about it is there's full deliverance. There's no shame because he knows that he's been delivered, that's the only way you can talk about something so clearly.. .. God is so good with his grace and his Mercy

lmaoooo they are funny! and wise I enjoy it God bless them
Being a single woman hoping to be a wife one day I am grateful to God for these types of videos. We need more married couples having these types of talks on social media and giving good advice to people who are either married or looking to get married. I realize that there are so many single people who don’t know what it means to be a wife or husband or what submission in marriage really is. I think the reason is because they are getting advice from loud and wrong people on the internet. Thank you for giving people the tools and advice that you did not get so that they can be successful in their marriage or future marriage.
“Beauty isn’t the problem. Our hearts are!”
32:36 “There are so many trials and tests in marriage, in relationships where the aesthetic won’t matter when we’re going through something.
What will sustain us is your character, your walk and intimacy with God.”

“Conversation and time is just slow discernment.” 🔥🔥🔥

This was a great conversation. When I was married I did withhold sex as punishment but it was also because I noticed a pattern in my husband where he was spiritually and emotionally "dumping" inside of me and it was a transferring of energy. So no when you had a bad day at work I don't want you to blow my back out because then you feel better and now I feel like crap. When instead we could've prayed about it together or something else. I just got tired of feeling like a dumpster and I had nowhere to place my worries, fears, or things that frustrated me. I was going to God double time because I was carrying his burdens and mine but he wasn't going to the cross on my behalf. I would have rather us war together through prayer and also in the bedroom.
This is good stuff.
It's a miracle he stayed
Not “put the pipe down” no pun intended nooo Jackie 😩
That is so true. When I was abstaining for years & when I allowed the flesh to win, it totally discussed me. I went right back to abstaining & what a great feeling to stay strong & free from sex.
So true. (I think you meant to type @disgusted”)
I can relate, when I let flesh win it felt like I went back further than I started 😭 never again.
@@hhm9609 Thank you
7 times worse is no joke!!! Help us stay delivered Holy Spirit! 🙏🏽
What a great vid. I love how God puts 2 ppl together n they balance each other. My marriage started as 2 unbelievers then I became a believer n it was not easy to be patient and sit back have faith in Christ that He would work on my husband's heart. Sure enough now we are both born again, loving the Lord errday. Lol
The sex life changed but it was my husband who wasn't as active as I was loll...little did I know it was God's perfect plan to work on me!! I had a problem, I relied on sex for confirmation, validation etc. God was working on me to rely only on Him! After 10+ yrs we are on the same page. God is so good on everything He does!
When Jackie talked about smoking after being saved it really resonated with me, I grew up in church but only attended to be a good daughter, I was the golden child in peoples faces then did whatever I wanted in private Cus no one suspected me, even after I encountered the lord I kept smoking but I began to always feel tormented when I did I would always feel highly anxious and hear voices that sounded like people arguing, It was almost never a good experience but I just wouldn’t stop, I continued for a bout a year, I would smoke vapes too and would never take anyone seriously that warned me against it as I couldn’t find anything in the bible that explicitly warned against it. at first I threw away all my grinders and papers but after a while I started university and had more freedom than ever and would smoke a lot with friends, it still was an anxious experience but I wouldn’t stop, like Jackie I would smoke whenever anxious bored or upset, it would “heighten” my creativity, but also my anxiety. It felt almost like routine like I had to. Even if I didn’t want to.
It took me a while to stop and I jumped around with how often I’d do it, I’d limit myself and stopped vapes but picked up cigarettes, really and truly I was only smoking to distract myself from feeling, I was emotionally mature for other people but totally emotionally irresponsible with myself and used smoking to help me bypass my feelings even more.
as of now I haven’t smoked in about a month and a half and this is the longest I’ve gone in the last 2 years, Thank you God
Pheeew!! Already commenting 30 secs into the video because Jackie just said all I’ve have been trying to say for the longest time. We need to dial back on this new teaching in churches of “women you need to make yourself available, you need to position yourself, you need to, you need to”…etc! We should first of all focus on God and His instructions for your life, and in turn, He (GOD) will reveal to you places you need to be available and what “positioning” looks like for YOU. My dear sisters, don’t get pressured with the message of “position yourself”. So much balance in what Jackie said and I love it!!❤
25:06 "she said everybody before her was mid"
"they were" 😂😂😂
What does "mid" mean/ stand for? I want in on the joke but I don't get it 😅 (I'm not American kinda lost here)
@@karolburke9397 mid in this context means average or mediocre
Okay gat cha 👍🏾 thanks lol
This was the most chill, laid back, serious/unserious episode 😂😂 I laughed but also received conviction and some good gems to jot down
Th convo about attraction is so necessary. I agree with Ki that liking someone who looks like you is natural and normal but to say specifically you don’t want the very look that you have is very telling of some deeper issues.
Attractions are shaped, as a teacher I monitor so much of what we watch and I have seen how my little kids began to prefer vanilla skin because that is who you see on your favorite shows.
I have been on a mission since to find brown people who do educational videos.
That’s just an example of how biases are formed.
God I love that You are Sovereign ❤
“conversation and time is slow discernment” so good!
Loved this episode. However, I would like my husband to be physically attracted to me from the first time he meets me. And as he gets to know me, become attracted to my personality etc. I think physically attraction is quite important.
But as women we are encouraged to be attracted to the internal first. Physique changes
I think it’s also important. From experience, sometimes the man who u ain’t super attracted to physically can woo u with his personality and the way her treats u. I fell more attracted to my husband the more I got to know him. Literally, One day I woke up and looked at him and was like wow he is soooo attractive in all ways. Thank God for this blessing of meeting and our union before God every day. Trust me u never know when/how u gon meet your future spouse. Just focus on u and getting close to God and being the woman of ur dreams , while God continues to put yall on each others path towards each other.
@@angelinahunt916, were you unattracted to him physically? Did that affect your ability to desire him sexually?
@@MsJennDefinerofSelfI was attracted to him physically, he just wasn’t initially the type of man I was attracted to. If that makes sense
@@angelinahunt916, I understand, just never experienced this. I typically have the opposite issue- attracted to the internal and the external is a struggle. I think encouraging women to overlook physical attraction is unfair. Your story is sweet by the way. Thank you for answering my question.
Jackie set herself up with that warfare comment 😂😂😂
Jackie's face when Preston said vasectomy
😂😂😂
I feel you about addiction. We all go through it. Like for example with food. I be like "I'm gonna start eating healthy. But after I eat this medium pizza by myself." 😩
Or "I'm halfway through the pizza and now I'm full. I should but I need to eat the rest because I don't want to waste this pizza because tomorrow I start my diet "
True. My story
Lol medium i I be like give me the family size real big back activity going on lol
Yes yes yes to this ! Food is where my mind went
Yep!!! I really been feeling convicted in this. I really God been telling me if I don’t start taking better care of his temple then I won’t have my blessings (a Godly man) Now I don’t think we should do things to “get” things but I do feel God convicting me in the area
Oh my gosh 🤣 the way I am rollin’ over the crack head analogy. I use that analogy all the time but it’s the best way for people to understand the breaking of bad habits.
Amen to the part about the belief that we can’t manufacture God’s will! God is sovereign and will control when you meet your spouse 🙌🏾 You can go out and be everywhere and still not meet your spouse until His timing ⏱️ I loved the Dunkin Doughnuts analogy 😂
I listened to on apple already and it was sooooo good can you have them again please? It’ll be great to know how specifically u guys overcame things like intimacy expectations and wanting to divorce etc what practical steps I can take to help. Also regaining friendship in marriage when it’s lost etc
We were taught to look at each other as brothers and sisters in Christ. I teach my nephews that now. My late husband and I gave them purity rings.
This conversation is what I needed to hear. Falling after deliverance lets us know that the devil never gives up and comes back with his seven times worse to trap us. It lets us know that freedom is continual need to stay close to God.
I LITERALLY DONT KNOW ANYBODY ELSE WHO TALKS LIKE THIS... where are these kinds of ppl, this is so real and honest! I need this community!
THE HOLY SPIRIT SPOKE LOUD in this podcast 🕊️♥️✨
Dang courthouse wedding = premarital sex , Jackie jumped right over simply being poor 😭
Lol simply
A courthouse wedding isn’t premarital sex it’s wedding and it’s recognized by God
@@redeemingdaniela I thought so cause there is a ceremony
I have a friend that loves God and really struggles with porn and masturbation. The way Ezekiel gave that revelation at the beginning of the video was completely mind blowing 🤯 🤯
Like wow!!
They said they can’t let the devil win Ikdr💀😭
This conversation is deep. It reminds me of our story. I married my childhood crush, and we were friends through the time. We have only been married over a year, he did wait 20 years to finally make his move, no we haven’t been in bliss the whole time since we have been together. God is dealing with me in this area. I love ❤️ him and happy that God put us together. Yall really have a ministry. There isn’t a lot of people encouraging Christians to stay together and just follow God’s lead.
I see what they’re saying but pretty much every man in the Bible was with a beautiful woman. Sarah was so pretty that Abraham had to say that she’s his sister so they dont kill him for her. The Bible talked about Rebekah’s beauty at least 3 times, she’s “fair” etc so the thing is, men will always look at the outside and God will always look at the inside, it’s our nature. It’s only when we align with Gods will, we see the inside. It’s easier for us women to overlook a few imperfections but men not so much especially “societally attractive” men.
Very true
@JustLouns, Women are expected to look past the outside because as a society women are seen as property without real autonomy.
This was such an AMAZING MERCIFUL listen!! Such an anointed message for those even dating or in singleness! I’m 26 now and finally the Lord has humbled me to stop seeking a wife, and seek the Lord! & all things will follow if aligned with His Will! 🙏🏽
Your LA show is sold out and I can’t believe I’m missing out on this. Please come back to Cali so that me and my husband can attend! We live y’all.
Love that they do what works in their marriage rather than try to shoe horn life through traditional roles. This was a great conversation.
Men can weaponise sex too. There are wives who suffer neglect in this area. The church/society needs to recognise this more. The sexuality of women is often undermined.
I'm so happy to see you all together again. ❤❤
Jackie, how you described your experience when you smoked again. You explained my experience exactly. I said, "I hear YOU, GOD." Never again!!
Same! My last time smoking God convicted my heart and took the taste right then and there! Thank you Lord for deliverance!
Productive synergy in a marriage is so key to how you can see God’s hand on your union !
I have gotten so many tools learning from couple like The Perrys and The Ozonwus. And that other couple you brang on.
What a beautifully SPIRIT-filled conversation, brutally honest in a clean, edifying way!
GOD bless you all!
Jackie saying for sure about Preston getting a gut was too funny🤣🤣
God is good. He hears us you know and we can talk to Him about anything. He never judges us but he is happy when we repent. Love you my Perrys❤
Loved how Ezekiel talked about his wife, but it can be exhausting and disheartening to know women are expected to be near perfect to keep a man’s attention- leading him to commit to a Christ centered life just for him to turn around and push her to the back to take over as the spiritual leader in the home. Women are expected to give sooooo much grace, understanding, and compassion…
And men are not?
Be real
This conversation was so real. I loved it. You guys make it so comfortable to talk about the uncomfortable and how we can be ok with not being perfect but being able to normalize that you need to go to God for the help you need.
The conviction while watching this is insane. God Bless y'all ❤❤
I shall, and ama WAIt! 😤😌
The set, the colors, the black skin, the outfits, the intelligence, the aesthetic is GIVINGGGG!!! 🔥🔥🔥😍😮💨
#FirstTimeWatcher
Preston: Everyone before her was mid.
Jackie: …. They were 😂
O my God this discussion was so powerful coming from you guys, I'm not married but I desire to be and I'm trusting God Almighty to bring that person into my life, keep me in your prayers 🙏
I have my ticket. Can't wait. Excited!
The coming into ourselves as a couple is of great value in marriages.
Women flip out if you suggest they should lose weight. Bold admission, Jackie.
I called myself out like girl “Ur back is getting big.” and my fiancée was like “Babe, my stomach is leaning over - we gotta do something about this.” 😂😂😂😂
Yeah it's a problem in the black community. And this is coming from someone who was formerly 200 lbs. It's not even about aesthetics, it's about health, quality of life, and longevity. People are adding preventable health issues to their lives and this can even affect fertility. We need to be real with ourselves on this.
I can be real with myself and say that I struggled with the fruit of self control, and still have to check myself.
one of their best episodes hands down. i'm young (both in age and in my walk) and ive been craving to be discipled by grounded folks like these (':
This was so good. Grateful for these couples for being open and transparent about their journeys. The ‘going to war’ needs to be its own separate episode! 😅 The part about having discipleship in marriage is also so important and that’s something I have been intentionally praying about for God to provide for me and my husband. But having access to such conversations helps in the meantime.
I would have loved to hear Kiyanna’s thoughts on self-hate &colorism while dating in the Christian community. Self-hatred in general is demonic and prevalent. We often avoid even talking about it.
“Full of pride, tear it down”😂😂😂😂 love it
At 51 mins. . My wife and I had to deal with that. A BIG part of our continued testimony.
Little sneak peek from the podcast and I’m so glad God’s sovereignty overrides my immaturity and former mistakes. It amazes me how God aligns wisdom, knowledge and learning. I’m in the midst of understanding God’s sovereignty over my mess ups; and His helping hand is blowing my mind to how much He is and has restored me as I make my way to Him. #DontRunFromGod #YouMayBeAMessButComeAnyway 😮💨🔥✨
This conversation reminds me of the old P4CM days!!! SO REFRESHING AND FUN ❤️🔥
My husband and I got married at the courthouse. He was a virgin and he wanted to wait so I respected that. But the courthouse decision was to save money. The wedding we’ll have in a few years. ❤ 50:56
This just became easily top-five podcast episode of All Time for me! THANK YOU for this!!
Preston is hilarious 🤣🤣🤣 LOL and Jackie’s reactions to him make it even funnier 🤣😭
I just love it when these two couples get together. This talk was such a blessing and also so funny and raw at the same time. Thank you and God bless you all🙏🏾
This episode was funny, edifying, convicting, and informative.. all in one ❤ 🔥 loved this
One time during a church group session the pastor was talking about not being caught up in being in a relationship and worry more about being in a relationship with God. That in His timing you’ll be brought to that person who is for you. And I said out loud “right! God’s not going to bring you ugly!” 😂 because He knows the desires of our hearts and wanting someone attractive. Like He is going to find someone who is perfect for us and like Ezekiel and Preston said, through time your person will get more attractive in the relationship also as you grow beautifully together through life.
I absolutely love this conversation. You all are speaking facts and are so funny! I truly love this.
