Very nice & very informative video.but i have a question to you..you never talk about chiclid fish, you dont like this breed or you have some other reasons.???
I use a method that I find easier and less polluting. I take a raw egg yoke. I pour hot water and mix well. I put the mixture for one minute in the micro-wave oven (more or less : until the mixture sets). I let it cool and drain the water. This kind of poached egg yoke is softer than hard-boiled yoke. Fish bite into it easily and do not spew small particles like they do with hard-boiled egg yoke.

There are certain live cultures (vinegar eels, white worms, grindal worms,etc) that many hobbyists can learn to start and maintain in their homes for their fish. But many varieties of flake, pellet and powdered foods that help you grow out you fry, bring out the colors of your fish, and keep them healthy. Your fish are gorgeous plus your regular maintenance of their water quality is just as important as their dietary needs.

I did this before and you are right, egg spoils easily and it can easily lead to bad water quality which will could lead to diseases for our fishes. I now just feed my mollies and platies tilapia pellets, I learned about tilapia pellets here on your channel. Thanks for that info :) Luckily I was able to find an agri/aquaculture shop here in NCR. I give my guppies Thai betta tiny pellets, I don't know the brand because the characters on the package is in Thai haha. I also have another pellet that's also from Thailand, I bought it at ACE Hardware - they have pet supplies there too. It's hard to get live foods and the prices online are quite expensive. So far my fishes have been accustomed to store bought pellets.
Dexter, wouldn't it be easier to dry the cooked yolks and whites first then grind them???

Thanks crown tail for asking. What i mean fresh is the egg that is not rotten. The eggs in the supermarket are good. You can use alternative way for drying instead of the sunlight. Please make sure that its really dry so you can powder it like a dust. Its good for the baby fish.

Absolutely brilliant! I'm going to try the boiled egg mix on my 14 goldfish in my pond tomorrow, they got board of the pellets and floating sticks. So much so I gave them cheap flakes and they gulp it all down. Do you have any suggestions on what I can put in the water for the frogs that hide at the bottom? If they're well fed I'm hoping they'll stay and breed. We had 5 visit last year 4 small one larger, this year the large one has been seen a much smaller bright brown one. Fingers crossed!

Sorry ia m a little confuse.You said that they just need the egg yolk because is high in protein; .But Most of the protein comes from the white part albumin and the rest comes from the yolk. No?

Just to clarify. if you want to feed your fish with proteins you should avoid yolk.. the white part is the proteic one, yolk has a lot of fat and cholesterol. So in my opinion is better to avoid at all the yolk, since naturally fish are not used to eat such fatty food
Easy way to peel hard boiled eggs... place in bowl with tight fitting lid, add water to cover eggs, close lid, shake vigorously. There's videos on it. Type "easy way to peel hard boiled eggs"

slmt dtng , yes dexter the egg yolk ,is so nutritious for the fish fry ,you cn lso keep the egg yolk ,in silk cloth /muslin cloth nd feed it to the fish fry , juts like you feed the tubifex worms in plstic cup ,to the fish .you cn keep the egg yolk in the silk cloth nd then tie the cloth with nylon rope /string nd then just dip it into the fish tnk with the nylon rope nd the fish fry will feed on it .nd when they re hungry they will come to feed . the silk cloth will filter the egg yolk so only minute prticles will come out of the cloth ,for the fish fry . this feeding technique is from England is used in the fish farms in England widely . the England qurist ,brtholomew reccomends this lso .

After the egg is boiled, tap the shell firmly a half dozen times around it's perimeter with a soup spoon to break the shell,it comes off in large pieces very easily.

To boil the eggs, start from cold water first, then boil for 25-30 minutes. Then pour out all the hot water and fill in with cold water for easy pealing of eggs.
