While i have not tried cucumber my koi, iridescent sharks and tinfoil barbs love chopped bananas; not cut in coin size pieces like you tried but chopped until almost a mash :) They also love chopped apples, water melon and mangos :)
In the summer we get infested with Japanese beetles. They eat all the plant leaves, especially rose bushes, so we catch them with pheromone traps --where they just drop (unharmed, with no chemicals) into bags.. Then, we dump several hundred of them (still live and moving) into the pond water and the koi LOVE to eat them!
It could be the acidity in tomatoes and banana.... i think because both have a tipe of acid....i could be wrong but the thought just came up while seeing the reaction of the fish after they tasted it....🤔🤔
Some owners warned me not to feed kois with bread because it will kill them, so I don't, even if I make my own bread every day. They said their kois died because the bread grew in size in their stomach.
Some of these foods contain high protein and high amounts of fat. They higher the water temperature, the beter the metabolism of a Koi is, hence it becomes easier for them to break down these types of food

I was confused if these are your Koi or when you said you walk by a pond and give these treats to random koi?
I thought it's not good to feed them carbs such as fruits (sugars) and a protein diet is better?

That is possible, but that usually wouldn’t happen if the bread is whole west bread

Mine do not like silkworms much, but love my home made bread, I never feed sliced white from the supermarket, too much sugar and salt.

Pfoe, there are many good brands. Make sure the pellets main ingrediënt is fishmeal. For me I prefer saki hikari, only drawback is the higher price.
I feed my koi and goldfish on Coppens growth, but just trying out Coppens Health. They enjoy Coppens and its reasonably priced.

Yep but soak them first. They will gobble them by the ton so make sure they don't expand inside your fish
