I came here looking for a APC 25 keys review but thanks to you I discovered Arturia minilab mk2, and it really triggered me! In the past I used APC mini on Ableton and loved the workflow. Now I'm looking for a small keyboard, planning to use Ableton and Reaper too. Do you reckon it would make sense to pair the two (minilab and APC mini) to have full control of Ableton scenes and have that amazing 'stop all tracks' 'solo' buttons and faders, or I could achieve pretty much the same results with Minilab only? Thank you in advance if you'll have time to answer to this :)

I currently have the launchkey mini mk3 and I absolutely love it. Traveling is simply easy and I can create wherever I want with easy. Plus i can connect it to my iPad as well if I want to be let’s day “extra mobile” 😁

Always love seeing gear comparisons! I think my favorite is still the apk mini because of the pads! I think my favorite controller with keys is my Yamaha electric keyboard. I can plug it in and have my normal piano to play on so it's super comfortable feeling!

In the "if you have more money" section you should probably mention the Akai APC40 MkII as well. It doesn't have some of the shortcomings of the cheaper Akai devices. But obviously cost a bit more.
Love the video. And I agree very much about the LPX. I wish it had knobs but I have the LK MK3 and use the knobs to get the workflow. All around a great video
@@SanjayC WOW! I had a conversation with a buddy of mine about this lol. My honest response is this...I don't think it's much of an overkill. MAAAAAAYBE the pads when both are connected but even then. When I drive back home to Miami I can easily take both with me and they're not that heavy. They both work great. It even helps the workflow; I use the knobs that I can't use on my LPX.

Hey Sanjay C , My Studio Monitors are working . Turns out the problem was with my Scarlett 4i4 interface where Outputs 1-2 do not provide any response but 3-4 works perfectly fine . Its weird that its only been a month since I bought the interface

Hi! Please please. I need your reply on this 😣 I bought the 3rd gen bundle but I was not satisfied with the headphones, that's why I bought a DT770 pro headphones 80ohm just 3days ago. But I'm having a problem, though. My dt770 pro 80ohm has a great sound balance but it has lower sound volume comparing to the focusrite 3rd gen. Focusrite is way more louder maybe by 40%. Does that mean, the focusrite 3rd gen interface might not have have enough juice to power the dt770 pro? Meaning I have to buy an amp? Or do you have a solution to this? If I need to buy amp, do you have any reco? Thank you so much!
Have you tried the Launchpad Pro MK3? With all of its exclusive features it feels like a Push 2 without the knobs and the display but and is much cheaper
It's great, because of the compact size. Plus the useful features of each one. The knobs, keys and stop button of the APC and the RGB pads of the Launchpad. They're not velocity sensitive but I have a synth too!

I have been searching for an ableton midi step sequencer, but i cant find one. I know the push has one but i dont want to buy it, only for its step sequecer. Can anyone recommend me one? But not the akai 25 or 40 with the mods. Because you can not get these mods anymore.
ok, i know this is a 3 year old video, but i have a question. I am 100% beginner when it comes to music creation. a while ago i bought " Level Up! Music Creators Power Pack " from humble bundle, it came with MixCraft 9 software. i like, now here comes the noob question. if i bought a "midi drum pad" can i program any plug in to it, like if its a guitar rift for example. could i set that up into one of these controllers? or is there a different piece of equipment i am looking for to do this. im basically looking to do the "drums" then "guitar" then "bass" then the lyrics over all that. its been really annoying trying to just do it all via keyboard and mouse and figured this would be a faster process if i had a controller. thanks man. love the videos i've watched so far
SORRY BRO SO MANY QUESTIONS LATELY, THIS MIGHT EXPLAIN MY DELIMA BEST I will likely be getting a Push I do have some hard synths. Using PC Have a small keystep. So I've looked into an Oxygen, Launchkey, and some Arturia stuff, but don't know if I will need all those options if I have a Push. I like the keystep pro for controlling hard synths and it's got 4 tracks, however maybe that just needs to be a separate setup. Should I just get a nicer 49 or so midi keyboard without all the pads and such? Considering I will have a Push? Is it redundant to have a full featured midi keyboard along side the Push Should I get a fully featured midi keyboard and hold off on the Push? Certainly want something that works good in Ableton because I'm still learning it. I'm worried about these keyboards, some say pitch wheels not accurate, some say faders are horrible and so on.... Some have endless knobs, some don't, is that a major flaw? With a regular midi keyboard and a Push, what do you do about faders? So yeah I gotta upgrade from lite to suite, but need to know where to put my money Suite first, or Suite with Push package, or wait for possible Push 3, or fully functional keyboard now and Suite? Maybe a cool hard synth keyboard that also has midi, or with that take me away from nice integration with Ableton? If i do get full function midi keyboard i can pry go up to 500 bucks, but if the ones like oxygen are good, then fine, I just don't want crummy stuff, but I'm also not a baller. Any help thanks....

I'm looking to get a mini midi controller like Akai MPK or Arturia minilab for when I'm travelling with a laptop and want to make music. I already have a 61 key Novation Impulse for at home use so I'd like something that is a bit different from that, rather than duplicating all the functions, so that it could add something unique to the at home set up. Any suggestions or thoughts?
I think Novation really covers a lot of bases. I don't think the MPK or Minilab will give you much more, unless you want better keys (Minilab). I think a Novation launchpad may compliment the MPK if you use Ableton
The Presonus will work with the Studio One daw and you may be able to get the others working on other DAWs with midi mapping. Tha Launchpads work with Logic now too

I've tried the Korg NanoKontrol 2. Its not really made specifically for Ableton like the ones in this video. But its decent for most DAWs

Certainly want something that works good in Ableton because I'm still learning it.
I'm worried about these keyboards, some say pitch wheels not accurate, some say faders are horrible and so on....
Some have endless knobs, some don't, is that a major flaw?
With a regular midi keyboard and a Push, what do you do about faders?
So yeah I gotta upgrade from lite to suite, but need to know where to put my money
Suite first, or Suite with Push package, or wait for possible Push 3, or fully functional keyboard now and Suite?
Maybe a cool hard synth keyboard that also has midi, or with that take me away from nice integration with Ableton?
If i do get full function midi keyboard i can pry go up to 500 bucks, but if the ones like oxygen are good, then fine, I just don't want crummy stuff, but I'm also not a baller.

Push doesn't come with sounds, but Ableton Live (the software) does.

Great information. Do you if the launchpad or Atom will work with Ableton when you use an external library - like abbey road drums from Native Instruments?

I'm looking to get a mini midi controller like Akai MPK or Arturia minilab for when I'm travelling with a laptop and want to make music. I already have a 61 key Novation Impulse for at home use so I'd like something that is a bit different from that, rather than duplicating all the functions, so that it could add something unique to the at home set up. Any suggestions or thoughts?
I think Novation really covers a lot of bases. I don't think the MPK or Minilab will give you much more, unless you want better keys (Minilab). I think a Novation launchpad may compliment the MPK if you use Ableton

The Presonus will work with the Studio One daw and you may be able to get the others working on other DAWs with midi mapping. Tha Launchpads work with Logic now too

Hi Sanjay great channel for reviews one of best anyhow.I’m just starting out with music I have a few apps garage band groove beat thing is I like EDM and want to start learning I have looked at novation launchkey and novation impulse,akai mini thing is which one should I go for as I want it to learn and not need to upgrade for new beats and I like the piano and drum pads,my head is spinning lol

you need an audio interface. 250 ohms plugged into a laptop will be very low volume.
