I like the way you pulled the blues from the water into the treeshadows in the foreground to get that nice deep blue green that is the perfect complement to the reddish orange of the bridge.
Your artistic running shoes served you well on this painting. The way an artist interprets a scene in composition and color is a complete mystery to people who don't paint. Thanks again, Michael, for explaining your process. That really helps the rest of us to understand it, and possibly apply some of that process to our own paintings.
Wow. I've watched your channel for years, and this is one of my favorites. So much to love - hearing your process, your decision to customize the scene, your color selections, the tricky bridge with suggestions of cables....I could go on and on. Wish it were mine or that I had painted it with your skill.
Awesome painting! I've lived in Cali for 11 years now and I've never painted in San Francisco.. definitely need to get out there sometime soon before winter. Keep up the great work! :)
love the idea of shaping elements of the painting to make it work, the trees came out looking great. I'd enjoy seeing a painting of a dense forest scene!
Hello Michael, nicely done; demanding time wise; the green brush between you, and the bridge certainly played a role. I remember you did a painting of the Golden Gate from the top of a hill about a couple of months ago, and it was windy, it took you I think around two, and a half hours. Of course the location you worked from this time had many onlookers. 😉Thank you Michael!
As a 24" x 36" plein air painter, I was very interested in seeing you tackle this size. Your choices were interesting, and you managed to do it in one session. Congrats.
Love this painting! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and decisions especially during the sketching and composition stage. Also thanks for the tip about using alizarin crimson to keep the dark green transparent.
While you were evaluating your sketch I happened to step away from the screen a few feet and wow, I saw clearly the adjustments you were making to the composition. Who knew that stepping back worked for the video, too!
Always amazed that you can speak coherently whilee painting frame of mind! Thanks for great videos and inspiration. Have you thought of tweaking the clay foreground vis a vis the clay banks of the bridge? A bit similar, might express space a bit more. Hope ok to comment on that! Thx again!
Haha, I cut out all the incoherent bits! There are quite a few. As for the tweaks, I'll probably tone down the saturation on the distant bit of land by the bridge. I may do some other minor color adjustments as well.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful art piece. The colors are wonderful -- love the brightness overall, as well as the subject!!! (One of my favorite pieces of your work!!!!)
A strong creation . . . . .in the midst of ever-lasting care-free nature, here is a solid upright man-made symbol of American purpose and achievement. Beautifully balanced, emphatically worth-while. Wish you well as ever.
I have a practical question ! How do you manage your need to go to toilet !? Do you always go to place with near by facilities, or you go in nature...or you do not have those needs at all, .... you try to not drink at all during hours.... I am interested to know more about your experience !? Please !
My favorite part of the painting is how the trees and the Golden Gate Bridge look 🙌🖼️
@@sjrl1999 the whole atmosphere of the painting is amazing!

I liked the explanation during the sketching phase
Great use of color. Great painting. Impressive how quickly you executed such a large surface.
I would love to see more of your process as you refine the colors and add depth to your scrub in. Beautiful work- so satisfying to watch!

One AMAZING thing about Mr. Chamberlain is that he makes painting seem almost effortless.

Good morning Miriam!
Feel free to video the complete process, please. I, and I’m sure others, would never be upset over a several hours long video! 🎉❤

What would happen if you cleaned your palette 😂 beautiful painting of my fav subject!!!
I clean it once every few months. Then it gets messy again. Painting is a messy business 😂
Wow - nice one.
Thanks Maura!
Good morning Michael
Good morning Mark
Good work Michael. Did you order Uber eats while you were there painting?
24 x36 would take me 2 months to paint!
Cheers
