- A woman posing as a dentist was arrested in Schaumburg after customers complained she gave them fake braces and, in one case, a patient had a chipped tooth after a visit. Police investigated and charged the so-called dentist with a crime after a CBS 2 investigation.

@@raykane2063 dental insurance from work does not cover the entire cost for orthodontic treatment and they certainly don’t cover veneers or teeth whitening because those things are considered cosmetic.

@@Mercenary-1914 The part that killed me was after he got out of jail for the fake doctor stunt, he got involved in another fraud operation (I think he was working in a warehouse or something and was diverting some of the money there to his personal accounts) that he had to go back to jail for 😂 that boy just could not help himself.
I know a couple of people who couldn't make it through dental school, but they don't go around pretending to be dentist.

A dentist could lose or have a suspended license, or not be licensed in a certain state. This woman is NOT an “unlicensed dentist”.

unfortunately not true. Starting a REAL dental office can be expensive. Space in a small commercial building is pretty cheap and you can buy chairs that stretch out like dental chairs for a few hundred dollars.

we have medi cal which covered essential dental
NYS Medicaid and Medicaid funded HMOs also cover essential dentistry, including caps, crowns, root canals, and braces (if medically necessary).

It's sad u going to start asking doctor's for proof of their license my ex had surgery by a phony doctor and when she went for follow up she was told she told fleed the office and move back to the Philippines without notice and other patients were complaining she also messed up their surgeries
Hello which state with that phony doctor ? I got my braces on for 2 months now and this dentist doctor I see seems sketchy and when I ask him questions he don’t give me a clear answers.
You should always do your due diligence by checking the state's medical board. If they aren't listed, they aint licensed.

I understand wanting to pay less because when I needed dental surgery and a tooth replacement it was quoted as 10k per tooth. Braces were about 5k on top of that. Most people don’t have that handy and are desperate. I went to Costa Rica for my dental surgery which has legitimate doctors who just charge less because the cost of living is lower there but people are impressed with the work done on my teeth to the point dentists here don’t know it’s a fake tooth until they see x-rays. But teeth are so important, specifically your gums, so you can’t have just anybody in your mouth because that will cause legitimate health issues.
