    The reason his punch under his own adrenaline was more powerful is because there is emotional investment in the actual strikes on top of the adrenaline. I can almost guarantee he threw the better punch form wise when his trainer got him riled up, opposed to the shot. With that much unnatural adrenaline in your body, I dont think he knew what do do with it, he said in the interview "You can almost not control it"

    • @nathanjohnson7419
      @nathanjohnson7419 4 роки тому +2

      actually he purposefully threw first punch soft and quick and. Second punch he cocked back a bit and threw full force. Had nothing to do with anything other than that, whole thing is bullshit

    After the adrenaline shots and the aftermath of ferocious punches was so intense. I mean you know it's serious when the doctor and the trainer are more than a few feet away from, the powerful Houston Alexander, frozen watching him anchor immensely in his own rage to the point tears are stream lining down the sides of his face. His trainer and the medical professional that administered the adrenaline shots were so amazingly fascinated and terrified at the same time, the both of them weren't sure what to do but they knew they had to approach this savage beast of a warrior. You know it's serious when the trainer wont see if his fighter, who's been with him probably more then his own family, a real special type of bond, wont approach him in that scary-scary state of being. The trainer's body language after those punches Houston accurately threw back-to-back was like:
    "I ain't fucking checking on him, you're the intelligent one that wanted to stick him with that shit, you check on him!"
    hahahah fucking crazy moment.

    Adrenaline causes a surge in emotions. He wasn't crying in sadness, When he was emotional before. He was using pure rage which also causes an emotional outbreak.

    You can also tell by simply watching the slow motion that the form and delivery of the second punch was by far the best of the three its possible that the third punch would have had more power had it been delivered correctly. I would like to see a real large scale study on the effects of adrenaline on power.

    The thing about natural adrenaline is that your mind and body are already putting all the pieces in place to ensure that the adrenaline does the job effectively. You not only get power, but in some cases you get increased focus and control. That said, there are also times where we can get overwhelmed by our adrenaline (particularly if we're not accustomed to experiencing it regularly), and in those cases everything becomes a frantic blur that's hard to remember or control.
    I feel like external adrenaline does just that: provide something foreign that the body wasn't completely prepared for, and causing Houston to lose some of his focus while trying to control all of the excess energy and rage. Regardless of whether he put more juice behind his punch, accuracy plays a big part in ensuring that energy is fully transmitted into, and registered by, the dummy's measuring equipment.

  • @garrettord3304
    @garrettord3304 12 років тому +3

    The emotional response and involuntary tensing of the muscles from too much adrenaline decreases reaction time, speed, and vision. The negative side effects of natural adrenaline are reduced for individuals who are used to it, but you can see that he even had difficulty hitting the target squarely with the injection.
    Respect to this guy for going through with the experiment. Those shots didn't look very fun, or precise o.o

    Tears are an outlet for all emotions. The adrenaline got him so aggravated that he most likely wanted to destroy something, which is why he punched the dummy so many times. However, he forced himself to stop, so his body turned to releasing tears in order to vent the anger.

    The reason synthetic adrenaline wasn’t as strong is multiple things. The heart rate and oxygen intake/usage was the most similar. His focus on the fake shit was off, his straight right was stiff, he didn’t engage his hips as fluidly, and his distance was off he was closer the 2nd time. The overall performance of how he threw the cross is prolly what made the full 100lb difference

    That with mma/boxing
    It’s not always about punching power
    They should also test focus stamina etc
    Somehow if possible, reaction time… mental/physical reaction time.

    The natural adrenaline is much more powerful than any medication, that was nothing, that was just a verbal trigger, had it been a real present trigger like his mum dying and her murderer infront of him, he could hit up to 3000lbs. It all depends on the situation and the cause of adrenaline.

  • @perdirtbags
    @perdirtbags 12 років тому

    sry for doin this but the funcion of adrenalin is to increase the take up off glucose which gives the muscles to energy work (punch in this case). his own adrenalin made him use up most of the glucose in his blood and liver (glycogen). the artificial adrenalin cant really make more glucose so the muscles didnt really have the same amount of energy as the first one

      Amir Muhammad Same, I was given steroids as a child to help with my asthma (that's how bad my asthma was). I always felt like I could fight anyone if I got mad enough, and when I did I would lose all control of myself and cry afterwards. I can control myself now but you never know when your mind just snaps. (Looking back at this I realise now why I always wanted to become a boxer or physical fighter as a little kid).

      nope, his fist is at max speed way before he impacts the target no matter if the trajectory is a bit longer or shorter, he is not stepping into the punch so there is no extra force from that, the punches were all straight on, if anything then the longer trajectory would cause him to not be able to follow thru as well as the other punches.

When my older bigger brother would fight me all of the rage and anger from years of being picked on and messed with comes out and something just comes over me everything slows down even tho it’s going so fast u can think actually see where a shot is coming have time to get ready for it and counter it in a split second . Not only that adrenaline would make me stronger . Sometimes it would be too much and I would throw up after fighting

      My best friend was bullied and beat up by his older and much larger brother since forever. Then, one night back in 1990ish, his bro crossed the line, we were about 16 and his bro was prob 20, and we were drinking, and his bro humiliated him over something stupid, but the rage came out and my boy retaliated with a takedown and rage punches till older bros friends pulled him off. Glorious. Afterwards, he just cried uncontrollably for a bit. But older bro never fucked with him again. Unfortunately they both died about 18 months apart in 2020-2022, way too young, and now their dad died last week, leaving only their sister and mom...Some sad shit.

    When he was injected with adrenaline he lost control of his punches you can compare the forms, and the with the adrenaline totally threw him off, but it did give him that killing emotion that can really only be brought out in rare cases like this which can help if controlled to a degree.

    Sadly, this test isn't done on a large enough scale to truly get any kind of accurate measurement. His first punch he threw, he clearly threw softer than he could. You can easily see it in his form and wind up. But I guess that doesn't necessarily mean it was entirely intentional.

    Adrenaline makes you tired after it's effect stops, so I don't think this is a good tactic unless you are sure to make a KO in the first round. Even if you have the stamina to keep on going, you are still going to suddenly lose a lot of power in the middle of the fight.

    Spiff, what Houston was trying to was ruin his knee so he could work ground game on him and what I would think would be a full mount. Since Kimbo has a ban knee he was going for the kicks and going around to make him work the knee since going in circles around the mat does wear and tear on a bad knee. So basically you need to learn the sport and pay attention to the very little thing even though you say you already do...Shenanigans.
