The para with the officer in dress just looked great. One of your best films, hands down! Kudos sir!
Thanks Brendan👍
Really nice, informative video. I've lived most of my life in Solihull, near the Land Rover. I've also been a great fan of Action Man all my life... I had this model and the field gun as a kid. I've even had one since, yet somehow never noticed that it actually says Solihull on the front! (too busy setting the thing up in artificial landscape dioramas or in the garden to notice).
Thanks!
Thanks Gary, my sealed one is the 76 version. Even though the number plate on the box says 73.
This looks great. It’s a shame it was so easily damaged. Yours is in perfect condition. I like the engine add on.
I had one of these .I think I got it around 1973 and can remembering that the bumper broke off almost straight away . my dad tried as hard as possible to reattach the bumper but it was impossible nothing seemed to work ....great toy though still played with it even though bits kept falling off.
Great video. But who thought a kid would want a search light accessory? Personally, I would have gone for a mounted GPMG.
Yes extremely brittle! the 1st one i bought off ebay got badly damaged in the post so i made sure the next 1 i purchased was wrapped 'to the nines' in bubble wrap! So theres a lesson for anyone looking to buy or sell one on ebay!
A beautiful example you have there Gary! Definitely in my top 5 of Action man vehicles.
You know filming was a nightmare I was frightened to handle just in case dropped it, even opening the bonnet potentially hazardous as the catch is quiet tight
I want. Beautifull 👏👏👏👏
Great video Gary, I had one of these as a kid with the 105mm gun and the trailer, unfortunately as you said it was made from very brittle plastic which was prone for snapping bits off....
Following up on the subject of this great item being brittle, latter examples had metal reinforcing robs under the body. Marx made a Jeep from similar plastic but it is thicker and far more robust. Great video, I do love the Landy and have several examples.
I didn't know about metal reinforcing ribs until after posted video an interesting fix - many mistake it for repair job. Thanks for commenting 👍👍
@@GarysActionManChannel1970 I had the Landy as a child which was an early without reenforcement, it came as a surprise to me when I got one as an adult collector and it had these two metal bars!
Got one of these for a Christmas present used to mount the searchlight on the back I think both are up in the loft
Bought this 2 months ago as no wheel straps or plastic windshield missing along with scouts car
Awesome 👍🏾🤙🏼 but yeah it's harder to find now , but I have a later model of a jeep, but maybe they will release new ones?? As a lot of the old toy's are coming back 🤔🤔
My mate had one of these when we were young kids. I had one of the Cherilea six wheel armoured cars that we use to play with. One day his older brother talked us into ramming the two vehicles together. Like the young idiots we were you can guess what happened. No superglue in those days so a pretty much destroyed Landrover! Still feel bad about that.
I have the same but with motor
I would take that land rover and customize and mod the hell out of it!!!
It's too valuable a piece for that! A less intact one would be one to think about though
