ASK MARATHONING QUESTIONS BELOW!! Reed will do his best to answer as many as possible :)
March 29th, 2022: 20 days out from the Boston Marathon. Reed began his training block in January for his first attempt at the prestigious race.
From 7am to 8pm, get an inside look at what Reed does on a typical workout day during his training block.
Hard not to be a Reed Fisher fan.
You would have to be a truly sick f*ck not to be a Reed Fisher fan.
The GOAT
Facts!!
🥰🥰
Very very hard.
Talent can be the ability to handle mileage like Reed, not just being fast without putting in as much work. Perspective.
Very true! I feel like talent is often viewed as raw speed or ability, but I’ve always said that my biggest talent is durability.
@@reedfischer1894 I’ve always despised that philosophy that guys who can run fast off of lower mileage are more talented. Drew summed it up in his own statements though. His body wouldn’t be able to handle the work involved with marathon training. So drew may be a talented mid distance runner (1500-5k/10k) but he doesn’t have those natural abilities to make it 26.2. At least, not at the moment while his body is still maturing.
10 mile warm up is insane, this guy is a different breed
Lol freaki 10 miles 🤣 and I do 1k
The Reed marathon training vids have been some of my fav content you guys have been putting out lately. Love seeing the rest of the team grind out some reps with Reed as well. I’ll be cheering for Reed come Boston and can’t wait for the race recap video afterwards
This is all the justification I need to start eating Pop Tarts again.
Trust in your training Reed, I really think you’ll surprise yourself out here in Boston… Beware the first 4 miles though, they will come for your quads it’s so so drastically downhill the whole time. I’ll be there screaming for you when it gets really tough around 22… you got this shit brotha 🤟⚒️
Cheers! See you after the hills ⚒️
Man I love reeds simplicity and his nature! All the very best and god bless for the race 🥰😘
6:20 WARMUP!??!? This guy is running my hard days as his warmup... Now that is elite level.
would love to see a video on one of your guys strength/lifting routines!
Wishing you nothing but great things in Boston!
i was relaxed during this entire video. Reed is such a chill guy.
Such a genuine dude.
Coros Pace 3 also. Great charge time. Great video
Great stuff boys. Good luck Reed!
My wife and I saw Tin Man Elite at Davidson Mesa on Friday but we didn’t want to disturb you! Go get it Reed at Boston!
What a lovely human, so easy to root for him
I see. I click. I like.
Good vibes from this group. Reed is very likeable.
6:20 for a 10 mile warmup is INSANS
Great to see this insight. Thank you for sharing!
I don't think I could run a 6:20 mile if someone put a gun to my head. That's insane power. Awesome watching him work
Good Day Guys 🌞
Babe wake up, a new Tinman video dropped!
Reed invokes Canadian Cam Levins in reference to his big milage day! Sweet!
Really inspiring content yall keep up the good stuff
Man, I used to swear by pop-tarts before long runs. Maybe it’s time to bring them back.
If it ain’t broke 🤷♂️
Loved this.
Reed is the man.
Reed “Wholesome” Fisher
Thanks for your motivation.
Great work. Keep it up. Your training is going well
Go get em, Reed. Go get em.
LeTtTtTtTsSsSs GoOoOoOooOo!!! Good luck Reed!!!
I love you Reed ❤️
You should see kipchoge's insane training
Big Reed fan, but the people need some more Oliver 🐈
Why does Drew view Reed as the least talented and who would he say is the most talented on the team? Brogan maybe? I know it wasn’t meant as an insult at all but just curious for some insight - I feel like durability is one of the most valuable talents for a distance guy
Dude is a stud.
What do you think about David Goggins? He would of ran in the rain. Does that make him better? Iv been running to the store for beer, but not sure if i would run there in the rain.
Love the bike 😅
Congrats on the finish reed! 👍🏻
Is vocal fry a key part of being a great marathoner?
10 mile warmup at 6:20/mile pace?
Well damn.
Pop tarts and frozen pizza have fueled some of my long runs too
Im running a marathon next month
How does Reed keep his body from breaking down from the massive amount of strain put on him by such high mileage? It seems like he gets very little rest between workouts, doubles, and weights.
The same way every elite marathoner has been for decades? He’s not the first guy to run this kind of mileage. Cam Levins used to run over 180 miles each week with 3 runs per day
@@jazzyjay4595 bruh I just wanted tinman to reply... and with the way Cam Levins trains its a wonder he has not burnt out after his injury. 3 runs per day is pretty suicidal.
@@wesleyferguson140 step 1: proper refueling. Step 2: sleep more. The rest of everything that people do to recover is subjective and doesn’t work for everyone or doesn’t hold up to real studies. Unless it’s sauna, that works too but not everyone has access to that.
Take your easy day easy and stretch good
@@User_2285-w7b yeah what this guy said, I just figured that everyone should know by now and we’re out of the era of running easy days too fast 😂
What’s Reed hydration strategy? And what advice do you give a marathoner who doesn’t have access to bottles during a race and has to Rely on carting own gels etc etc ?
Keen to know about this as well!
You can see a glimpse of this in the beginning of the video-I take about 150ml of Skratch Superfuel every 5K during the race, which is equal to about 300 calories/hour. I practice that routine about 3-5 times during long runs in the build to make sure everything sits well.
For those without bottle service, I recommend seeing what the race will have on course. If it’s a reputable brand that you can try in training and you find it works for you, then you (in theory) won’t have to worry about carrying your fuel. If it doesn’t work for you, try a few different gels and drinks from different brands and find the one that sits best and go for that. Then find a good pair of shorts/half tights with plenty of pockets, and go race hard! Toss in an extra gel if you have room as an insurance policy for good measure.

👍 How long is the rest between marathon pace segments?
Of the whole tinman elite team, who's the fittest??
What is your bodyweight brother
Reed Fischer is the besttt
Would reed drink/eat anything in the car after the workout before the meal?
Yep, I had a Promix protein bar, recovery shake, and just some plain water on the drive back into Boulder.
What kind of watch you're wearing that lasted 300 miles?
Hello how can I get the Addis’s new running top and bottoms. That you guys get
What shoes did you say??
What’s the first song
How long does a run need to be for you to fuel? Like at what point in distance does it really become a requirement?
I've heard around 19-21 miles everyone will have used all their glycogen stores without fueling at all.
Question for reed is everyone able to achieve this level of running? Does he train a hole year with no weeks off or breaks from running?am 20 and training for a sub 60 ten miler, if I stick with running 50-70 mi weeks one day off plus workouts ect u think it’s possible to run 5:20s for 10 plus miles, I see u guys run these incredible paces am wondering if you guys at some point were running 6 flat and that be considered hard running for you?
Hey Ethan-the fun part of running and training is seeing the progress and surprising yourself. I can’t promise that you’ll hit every goal you set for yourself, but if you train smart, recover well, and race hard you’re setting yourself up to succeed. Be patient and let your body become used to increasing mileage and intensity gradually. When I first started running, I took 2-3 days off each week. Now I take 2-3 days off each year. It’s been a 12 year journey to reach this level for me, so don’t feel rushed!
Your goal of sub 60 10 miler is definitely a possibility. Keep hitting your mileage for the week and make sure to stay consistent, because that’s the key to improving. I dont know what kind of shape you are in now but i think you could reach your goal in no time.
what brand of bike is coach pedaling?
Reed has such a weird form, I don’t understand how he can sustain it for 24 mile
It ain’t much, but it’s honest work 🤠
Does the pace 2 track HRV?
Nope, just regular HR. WHOOP (device on my other wrist) tracks HRV.
11:08 did you put your seatbelt on >:(
“Probably like 4 years” 😂😂😂
Christine is a straight up baller
Love the pop tarts
Pop Tarts...can they actually be in my diet plan? Oh how I hope so!
Coros all the way 👍
Get this dude a strepsil
I’m a fan except his watch
Good video content and cool channel but as a former runner who has transitioned over to primarily focusing on strength and muscle building excerciaes and dropped a good amount of cardio, I cant help but notice and point out that in this training video, he is basically fueling himself on carbs and sugar and then it's more carbohydrates, also he looks very frail and weak simply because all those endless miles of hitting the pavement is catabolic to the body, which also leaves someone very injury prone, I understand that for these guys to do what they do they have to do this but from a dietary perspective and overall health and fitness, gone are the days of assuming constant feeds and fueling of carbs and sugar and excessive mileage on the body really does alot of harm, focus today should be much more on strength and adaptability vs endless miles, again for someone who is a professional athlete, he sure looks frail and weak, and that's not by any means meant to be negative or critical, I'm just posting about current running and ultra distance culture. I've followed Mark Sisson and Brad Kearns for many years and these two guys are at the forefront of running, diet and their journey as former distance runners.
That's an absurd amount of volume in one day lol
Humans have the potential too run further then any other animal
this guy sounds like a robot
Вот сравнить Рида и Срыва из СПб - один быстрее и скромнее в разы, другой менее быстр, но понты )
team reed
when did he go to sleep?? r
Around 10pm
10 mile warm up lmao
Warm up 10 Miles....
How this pro marathoners make money ?
Are you eat something for lunch?
he sounds like the miley cyrus voice meme
I have those same ASICS for everyday walking
Bruh
Wowser
That voice is crazy haha..robot
What's with his voice🙃
I run out of oxygen in 1/4 of mile. I wish my body wasn't sick and run a marathon before I die. But I know that's not going to happen. sigh.
I'm sorry you're not well. Can you walk/jog one? Crossing that finish line is what it's all about!
@@Kelly_Ben Ya, that's what I do. I walk a little bit, run for 1/5 of mile, stop, then do that twice, do my bigger run (1/4 of mile), stop, then do another 1/5 of mile. I'm done after that. Nothing left in my gas tank. I can do this 5 times a week for years and year and years, and still won't be able to run more than 1/4 of mile.
I used to be able to do max 1 mile 20 years back, but even then, I would run out of breath. It's like being forced under water for 2 minutes then coming back up, gasping for air. Eyes rolling back, can't hear much. It exerts a lot of pressure on my body. But I do it every single time. Most people would psychologically give up after a week, but I just do it for whatever reason. That's all I got.
Dude is sick looking. A runners body is skin and bones basically. Doesn’t look appealing at all lol. I rather have muscles and be above average at cardio then be a stick and look sick. But if that’s what he likes ain’t gonna knock him. I prefer Nick Bare
The worlds crockiest voice
10 mile warmup?!? Lmao it’s like a joke
Papi,,,,,You are on a fools folly.....get a job and stop this nonsense.....I know your dad.....and he agrees
Poor athletes runners no money
Worst sport to make a living . Better be a golfer 🏌️♂️
Ewww....pop tarts!
That training montage was gayer than the volleyball seen in Top Gun.
🤣 😂
Kristine is a very attractive person, she looks like a good person. Hes lucky
That’s a little creepy…
@@mattrobertson9046 Whats creepy about saying someone seems like a good person and is attractive. Can we not say anything these days? Its a perfect compliment. You're the creepy one, trying to make people feel uncomfortable about being nice.
give the man something to eat.. unfortunately it doesn't look healthy anymore. too much cardio 😅
warm up = 0
cool down = 0
"profesional marathoner"
poptarts, cheeze-its, sugar-water ...
elite? elite what? eating like a 5 year old in a family which doesn't care about nutrition
It matters for performance big time. if I was your sponsor I would pull the contract ... holy crap... to give this little care about performance as a full time athlete... o.O astounding..
It’s not the full story
To be called professional, be professional. That poor diet is far away from professional athlete, and guy looks so weak and drained. This training is pure suffering and that's not what sport is about. Respect for the speed though, and the mindset that's pushing against that body that's clearly suffering.
