In winter, I love a silk shirt, or thin silk knit, under a cashmere sweater. It’s so cozy and the silk layer adds breathable warmth, protects my skin, and protects the sweater fabric. I can’t wear any synthetics, which really limits my options in US clothing brands. That’s one main reason I shop French brands, they still use natural fibers, but also the quality, fit and styles are so superior.
It’s really summer here in the San Francisco Bay Area through October. In November, generally we can count on not having extreme heat waves again, but in October, we can get anything from 60s to 100sF, it’s tricky to decide what to wear, even with good weather forecasts. I can’t wait to visit Paris again.
Great suggestions. I have already decided on camel, cream and black with some red for my winter trip. I will probably wear my camel coat on the plane and just pack the rest in my carry-on. I love that mohair cardigan from Sezanne -- we can rarely wear mohair here in Los Angeles, but I love to knit with it and I may pick up some yarn to duplicate that cardigan.
