Thanks, I watch far too many 20-30 min or 45+ minute videos that could be 10 mins max.......i like to be to the point and no BS......this style (forscan) is new to me as i was ad-libbing and trying not to waffle......avoiding putting text in and no powerpoint !! lol (like we spoke about) Cheers for watching
Great instructional video - it covers V2.3x BETA module backup and configuration. FORScan's V 2.3.45 GUI is a little different but does the same thing. Be aware that older adaptors, such as the FORSCAN OBD Monster aren't recommended by and are not fully compatible with FORScan v2.3.45.
@@SYDiagnostics Thanks for your great work! Backing up configuration data is such an important and often overlooked procedure (horror stories I've read on FORScan & F-150 forums & Facebook FORScan groups by people who failed to make back-up before changing configurations) that an updated video would be greatly appreciated by us FORScan newbies.
Thanks for video. Is the info that you saved, be used for saving data from the ecu and then saved on a replacement ecu (the same part number) ie reprogram.
I just bought a new cluster same year and model for my car. I’m not worried about changing the mileage but when I plug new cluster in it looks like I will receive some warning lights from what others stated. How do I copy all the info off my old cluster and program onto new one with forscan?
Hi excellent video, I have had to fit a secondhand TCU to a 2013 Kuga, the old one is broken. What’s the best way to code / configure the new (used) one? Using forscan and extended licence. Really hope you can help ❤
Nice presentation, it's the last one of several I looked at, before felling confident that I had enough information to start. Thanks for your time in doing the video. I have a question if you would like to comment. I am using FORScan V2.3.33 bata that built for Windows. I did a backup of all my modules, 30 modules in a Ford F150, one module at a time for an Inital backup of all my As Built modules. I just noted today, all my file names ended up with a .abt extension and I see yours end with a .cct. Do you have any reason why?
Hi. Is it possible to use Forscan to reset a module to factory settings? I have just bought a 2016 Fiesta and two DTCs state an incompatible issue with the settings software. Clearly, someone has changed the settings. Thanks for any advice.
Hi, I followed your tutorial so to activate the auto locking. I didn't found the BCMii tough, the one where you saved the backup, so I had to try another way. I modified with success the setting, but I didn't have the chance to make the backup firstly. Is it possible to do it again, removing the autolock, making the backup then reabilitate it? Thanks
Great video, but from the point at 1:45, when it requires something downloading, do you have a process for this in a bit more detail, or is it really straightforward and cant be done wrong?, sorry for the newbie question, but I'm green on the forscan, thanks
Hi. For this video the download bit is already done.... But it's a straightforward In the background process that is done for you.... Honestly, it's no sweat
FORScan light on iOS seems to be a different configuration to your pc version. Can you do a back up on iOS or is this only possible on a windows pc. I do realise that iOS does not have the config & programming abilities.
What about if I replace the PCM?. And it needs to be programmed into the car. Does Forscan support this procedure? And where can this procedure be found in Forscan?
Anything with a pushbutton start or after 2010 then forscan wont be able to carry the work out. Otherwise its z suck and blow procedure just like backing up data, the carry out module initialisation in the pats
@@SYDiagnostics What If I were to save all my configurations in my current PCM and then replace the PCM with one running different software. Could I load my original saved configurations into the replacement PCM?
@@CK-fn6zs I've done this myself on a 2008 focus. I saved the configuration, fitted a like for like pcm and uploaded the configuration. Then did module initialisation. I didn't change the VIN . But this will only work on anything older than around 2009/10
Would you be able to do a video on re-programming an instrument cluster. I've a 2010 mondeo giving bother with clocks and I would fit a 2nd hand set. But not sure of the process on forscan.
Hi, great video wish i had seen this before i did any alterations, considering your the only person that seems to know a lot about forscan, could you please inform me what code ABS U2101:00-AB control module configuration incompatible, this is stopping my adaptive cruise control from working, is there anything i can do , or will i have to take it to ford, thanks in advance.
Hi, forscan couldn’t download the firmware files from internet, after looking online, this can be done manually from the internet, would you be able to advise please?
probably worth contacting forscan, i am not affiliated with them in any way. I am convinced they have had thousands of new customers through my channel, but never reached out
Do you have a way of programming keys to the mk7 transits with the factory alarm? Ids fails (genuine) as does etis and other key programmers fail to get comms like MVP, smart pro meaning an eeprom to write a key in, wondered if this option would allow you to disable the alarm while you write the key in?

Glad it was helpful!
Great video dude . no long (bs) intro straight to the point . I’m just starting to use FORScan so I’ll be keeping a look out for you’re videos.👍
Another great video. i do like your style, straight to the point, instead of watching for hours to get the bit of information you need, thankyou

Why do you use Save as opposed to using Write Backup, when using my Forscan I did not see Save
Nice video with very good advice 👍🏻
maybe i missed it, but will backing up the main module save every setting, or do you need to backup every module, or something else?
Magic !!! Thank you very much ... :)

Does there need to be NO DTC in order for you to back up the correct As-built or does it back up data with those DTC malfunctions?
You are backing up configuration data, in case it is lost when you are working on things

Do you have to do a back up for every module or only the BCMii Central Configuration (Main)?
I'd only back up the configuration of the module you are addressing
Thank you for your video
Will this create a viable backup for my system if i were to brick my while trying to update my focus mk3 to 3.5 software?
Is that with vid block backup option?
Do you have to backup other modules like powertrain and chassis?
I wish he said what all MODULES you need to do, or if it was just the one, say that.... I see its been 2 years and still no answer.
What else needs to be or would be wise to back and save.
In my opinion, it's worth doing before changing any coding on a module. Unless you are changing things then it's probably not something you need to do
