I just found this video. Very nice, loved all the history.
I travelled the same direction over Stony Pass in 1987.
It was the absolute first 4-WD driving I had ever done.
Still one of my favorite trips.

So relaxing (unlike being an actual passenger). Thinking of doing Pearl Pass this August in my 60 series (55's spoiled little brother 😄).

Pearl Pass is one of my favorites. Definitely do it. You can make a loop out of it, Italian Creek, and Taylor Pass. Maybe this is the year to go back and make a video of Pearl.

@@fj55landcruiser thinking Haggerman Pass to Leadville, but maybe convoy for better camp company and new stories? Love to get out of the heat for some mountain air.

Hagerman is good. It is getting pretty crowded last time I was up there. Turquoise lake has some camping around it. South of Leadville is Halfmoon Gulch which has camping and is a great drive. More challenging than Hagerman and also has an awesome intact mill close to the end of the road.
