The fae king look really captures the feeling of alluring and dangerous, I just love it!! I also feel like the queen looks like a dragon in human form, beautiful but intimidating as hell. I've got to say your ability to make yourself look hyper masculine or feminine is amazing!! You look like two completely different people.
Love these looks! You are fabulously creative.🤩🪄💖 Watching this, I was thinking of several art supplies that you would probably love. One to go with the watercolors, is regular metallic and metallic color shift watercolors. They are incredible! The other one is metallic and color shift nail powders. I found they work on UV resin as well, and add a lot of pop. They have basically the same thing made specifically for resin too. You likely have tried these, but if not, they are so worth it. Thanks for sharing all that you do!😊💖
I love your Short vids, but it's so cool to see you explain each detail of your process. And I dont think anyone else will say this, but kudos to your sponsorship. Your talents will be more and more recognized. And the sky's the limit. 😊
Thats cool 😎 in the video game Divinity 2 the elves have like wooden skin and amazing clothes definitely a worth look into if you like that insectoid fairie sketch
While you were talking about fairies, you had me thinking of the various fairies seen in the numerous installments of the Legend of Zelda series, especially the fairies seen in Ocarina of Time and the newer installments such as Breath Of The Wild and Tears Of The Kingdom.
If you're after a striking moth for inspiration, check out the Elephant Hawk Moth these things are bright green and HOT PINK, and have about a 4 inch wingspan. I found one in my Bathroom the other day, Freaky but strangely beautiful.
You have a perfect face for this kind of cosplay. In particular, that quirky-smirky mouth fits nicely into your costumes. (Reminds me of Natalie Dormer.)
Here’s a tip: if you want to create something like this, you can also use white colored pencils or crayons, because he wax won’t absorb the watercolor! So if you don’t have masking liquid, try this instead
Hi, watercolorist here! Yes, you're absolutely correct. Anyone who'd like to do this just needs to know that you *will* be able to see the shine from the wax of the pencil, and it may not block the paints completely if it's not a solid layer, so that's something to consider when deciding what you want your final look to be. (Not criticizing at all, just explaining further if some folks reading aren't aware) 💕
So I saw post of yours recently. Asking who simps for the Owl. My answer to that. Why simp about an owl, when there's a Phoenix underneath. Love the art and creativity 👌
We followed each other on Tiktok back when you were starting out. I was about music,💚 and art. My tag was GREEN NATION. glad to see you kept on same art. 👏👏
I love this so much! My LARP sense are tingling with all the possibilities to creep out other players at multi day events. I have a bone shaman that worked well... but the fae sing to me! Also I had some of those books as a kid! My mum use to tell me that my long hair had knots in the morning because the fairies had a party in it while I was asleep. ❤❤ Thank you for the dopamine!
Hello how is everyone today? Hopefully great. Do y'all like cheese? I like cheese as you could probably tell because of my pfp and my name. unrelated but i got first like view and second comment so today is my lucky day. Almost done with the vid so far i love it. I just finished the video and i still love it they looked so good!
I actually like the faded look. It looks more natural. The colors are beautiful. Over all: flipping fantastic!! ✌️🫶😃 Great job 👏👍👍 The Queen is a Sea Fairy 🥰
Pro tip from my makeup artist friend: button up shirts. I had to buy one because I hate them, but being able to change without pulling it over your head is key.
Your whole attitude to the masking fluid and peeling it off is so relatable. ❤ Also, _of course_ it's going to be Baldur's Gate. 😹❤ ETA: Your joy at nodding slightly and seeing all the pieces move was beautiful. ETA 2: These came together beautifully. Absolutely stunning work. ❤
@MissTwisteddd It really shows! I think it's wonderful. ❤️ Also, THIS is how I find out you're an Aussie? I zipped over to check when you mentioned Brisbane. 😹 I really need to check creator's bios more often. 😅
You apologized for being "self indulgent" but honestly, I'd encourage you to do more self indulgent stuff! Things you're passionate about are always going to be more fun for you and therefore turn out fantastic~
This is honestly true 😂 it's a balance of things I like vs things I think others will like too! I try not to do things I have no interest in, but luckily I find enjoyment in most projects anyway!
If you ever go to Europe, I highly recommend visiting the Efteling in the Netherlands. I feel like you'd adore Dreamflight which alot of the fairy illustrations you showed reminded me of.
"Queen of Air and Darkness" is one of my favorite folk songs. And there's a ancient Scots gaelic song about a woman whose sister goes off with the Fae. Wouldn't mind visiting Tír na nÓg sometime. Although the difference in how time passes there vs. here can be a problem. And of course, NEVER bargain with the Fae. Even Fae from the Seelie court (the good fairies) will give you EXACTLY what you bargained for- which may have no relation to what you thought you were getting. Keeps their minds sharp and keeps them from getting bored- an occupational hazard of being immortal. And the Unseelie court? Fuhgeddaboudit. Edit: I can't decide which I like better. Both are incredible. And seeing you happy makes your fans happy.
Stuff like this is my favourite part of youtube. Creative people being creative. Funnily enough my avatar is the result of the great work of make up artists at an acting job i did a few halloweens ago.
That's awesome! I know the ol' algorithms don't always favour creativity but I love it so much so it's always nice to find others still enjoy my work 😊
This is so cool! I'm always ecstatic to see long form content from you! Don't ever feel bad for getting nostalgic/sharing your nostalgia, and im so happy that you found your original book, it really is stunning.
As someone who is always in the search of the perfect opaque white face paint I have some of my favourites. My first one is really obscure is oshiroi- the same white face paint used by Geiko in Kyoto. It does not mix well with most western makeup however. I've also been pleased with the Sunset Makeup goth white foundation. I see you already use some Sunset makeup products so I hope you give this a chance.
I realize you probably have tried just about every adhesive in existence, BUT... back in early 2020 I was working on stopgap measures to get the most out of the limited ASTM surgical masks we used in my dental clinic (because they were in short supply) . My goal was to seal the paper mask to my face, to eliminate air gaps. I tried all the Mehron products, but they didn't hold up over time (4+ hours). Someone from Mehron aimed me at a competitor's product called Pros-Aide (ADM Tronics). It did a much better job at the long-term hold and the manufacturer claims to have a US Veterans Admin approval for use attaching facial restorative prosthetics. Anyway, I ended up going a total different direction due to a rare reaction I had to a trace organic solvent in the Pros-Aide... my bad luck, as it's not the only thing I have reactions to. My older sister (PhD Toxicology and Reg Nurse) verified the reaction. ("Brother, you're weird") BUT, it's worth a shot, maybe, if you are looking for a more durable adhesive. (I am not connected to the product or manufacturer in any way) FYI an ASTM Level III mask, adhered all the way around its periphery, yields a filtration rate just a bit under that of a N-95 mask, as the ASTM III material filters to about 0.4 microns. The former engineer in me (prior profession, before getting my DMD) allows me to do some in depth materials analysis to verify it... just amazing that the high filtration we were all looking for was there all along... or, ALMOST there. I just never found an adhesive that didn't turn me into a blotchy Creature from the Black Lagoon. Love your make up/cos-art. You are a treasure.
Ah Pros-Aide is actually amazing and well loved in the SFX make up world- I'm familiar with it too! Luckily I don't react to it as you do (sorry to hear that by the way! Allergies are such a pain) so it's definitely usable- I've found it useful if I'm cosplaying at a convention or a LARP event since it lasts a while!
I have a question about the Fairy King one. Is there a reason to not Laminate the Paper Wings in some way? Other than the added Weight that Might make it harder to make them stick to the face with Spirit Glue? It kinda feels to me like having a plastic layer around them would help protect them from damage. I think there's different Textures for lamination that might avoid ruining the colours or adding an unwanted reflective sheen right?... (Bear In mind that I know Exactly NOTHING about Cosplay and Makeup and such, I just came here because I saw "Ooo Faeries!" and I was curious)
Yep all solo! Though I hire a wonderful editor to make the videos a bit cleaner and prettier for me! Thank you so much, I appreciate you making your way back here!
Poisonous means "don't eat it" whereas venemous means "don't let it bite or sting you". I really enjoyed both your Fae creations. The amount of difference in how they looked inside and outside surprised me. For inside, or for night time, have you thought about incorporating UV paint and UV light into this sort of work? I think it would look phenomenal, though to be fair, I think your work already looks phenomenal!
The way the Fae King head pieces move, you could start with you face close to the camera and suddenly dart you head backwards, they would all blow slightly forwards in contrast and hint at scary dinosaur from Jurassic Park, Dilophosaurus.
nice. fun. depending on the printer you have, you might be able to paint watercolors on watercolor paper, scan the painted patterns, and print mirrored versions on thinner pieces (watercolor paper it thick and heavier). you might also be able to print on acetate for printing on. Also you can tinker with color in digital editors to enhance the pop of colors, or completely color pallette swap for sibling designs. and I'd be curious to see if spray lacquer might intensify pale colors like when they were wet. so much play to explore when using paper and watercolor. wish I could do the practical makeup for character design art in projects.
There's a wonderful book called "A study in drowning", wich portraits a faking and these makeup totally nailed the idea of him, kinda creepy, but amazing. I love it❤❤❤
Your take on the Fae King & Fae Queen feel less like married partners, and more like the King rules over the Summer Court and the Queen rules over the Winter Court. Both dangerous, but one has a warmer energy that you might mistake for being kind or friendly while the other comes off as more cold and distant. Very Seelie/Unseelie vibes. I love it!!
This was a fantastic watch! Kudos to your editors, too. The @runmien image makes me think of a modern take on Brian Froud's work, which is probably where my mind goes when I think of fairies and the fae. Also, a really good take on the "dark side" of fae is the book "Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell" which is definitely a recommended read for anyone who loves the concept of fae and fae lore. As always, thanks for sharing!
I'm new to the channel, and i have to say you're awesome. Your love for what you do is obvious and contagious. Like you can tell, this is something you would be doing even if yt wasn't a thing. Thank you for sharing. Also, your accent is the best
Thank you for the compliments, and on the accent too! I'm kind of glad the Aussie accent has become more common on the internet- I used to be so embarassed by my accent because everyone thought aussies talked weird!
you can iron paper! i don’t know how it would affect the watercolors, but a technique used with marbled paper is ironing it after it’s dry to flatten it
Hello! A couple of thoughts 🤔 Have you tried Snazaroo face paint? They're made just down the road from me in Minehead UK. Also, have you experimented with ironing wax over watercolour patterns? Put a sheet of brown paper between to save your iron (ish!) It comes out looking amazing!!! 😊 xxx
So, I wanted to ask a question. I assume for purposes of practicality that when your record your shorts you do so in batches? As removing and replicating these looks, let alone accurately every time, would be a nightmare. Just curious about the process, enjoy your stuff immensely.
OH nostalgia! i think i had the same fairy books as a kid, i don't know for sure cause i don't have them anymore and i remember there being puzzles in the books as well as the story and water colored painting that look very similar too yours
@@MissTwisteddd I LOVE Metal: Hellsinger! You should play it if you haven't, or at least give the soundtrack a listen. Really tiny spoiler below... The ending cutscene after you beat the game leaves SO MUCH room for a sequel and I am insanely hyped to see if they'll announce one.
Mate Shirley Barber was my childhood too, my favs being the Seventh Unicorn, The Enchanted Woods, Rainbow Magic The Mermaid Princess and A Visit to Fairyland. They both seriously came out so well, ethereal and nostalgic
Beautifully done. Original Faeryz lore, in some cases, had them as mischief makers, or more evil type. So maybe have 1 with both good/evil personalities. If I ever did a Faeryz, it would be a Gothic Halloween type. The King gives lunar moth vibes, and the Queen does give off Mermaid vibes. The royal couple looks great!!
In the old stories, the Seelie court are the "good" Fae. They'll prank you, trick you in a bargain, but it's all in fun (for them.) The Unseelie court are- well, think Maleficent from "Sleeping Beauty." Just plain evil. They'll use their powers to back you into a corner so you HAVE to bargain with them. That does NOT end well.
If I may make a suggestion? When you use the UV resin, you can try to mix a blue/silver mica powder into it to give more of the water look on the droplets
Yes, poison is for plants, venom is for animals. I love this project!! I love watercolors and picked it up this year too, very satisfying. If you want to have more vibrant colors but have a bit of watercolor effect you can also try gouache paints.
I just recently found your channel and I must say you are extremely talented! I have never been very interested in cosplay however your work has completely changed my mind. I look forward to seeing more of your content. The Emperor Protects.
This was an amazing Cosplay. If you're familiar with Terry Pratchett, I'd love to see you try a Nac Mac Feegle Cosplay. They are my favourite fairies 😂
I think the King and Queen could also work as a Summer/Winter theme. The king with his greens is very Summery, and the Queens "fins" make me think of partially melted and refrozen sheets of thin ice.
I am so upset that I never thought to look for you on YT, as opposed to Tik Tok. You’re so incredibly talented and I am throughly enjoying seeing your longer form content and processes!!! 🤩🤩🤩 They are both my favorite!!! I am just stunned by your talent and creativity!!!
You should definitely knock up the neighbours for a cup of sugar whilst dressed as the Fae! As far as my favourite, that is almost too difficult, they are both wonderful. If you really push me then the queen I think, no no the king! I'm so glad you found a larger hardback edition of the book, I was thinking I would lookout in case I saw it at an auction here, so I could send it to you. You could do a whole video reading the book and showing the illustrations using a camera jig (this can be made easily, I got good results using a camera overhead of a picture using a boom mic stand to hold the camera) and wearing these full cosplays in alternation or on split-screen as a narrator, it would be great content. Stay safe and stay fabulous. 💐🥳♥️🐈⬛😼🐕🇬🇧☕🥖🧀🇪🇺🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🌈🇺🇦💐
Hey! I came buy to drop an idea for you :) For your potions prop, to be more specific. Try mixing some oxalate ester (can be bought from webshops, most probably oxalic acid) and hydrogen peroxyde (should be available in general store or pharmacy). Don't worry, it's not dangerous (just don't splash too much on your skin, may cause irritation, and on eyes, of cource). Won't spoil the fun, but I promise you'll like it :)
Love both designs and they have inspired me to look at making 3D butterflies from some lining paper. Keep being a great source of knowledge and creativity
At 70 I love your channel. Always enjoyed the fantasy world. You obviously have lived in that world in a past life and came here to share with us the reality and wonders of the fairy world..!

Holy heck your hair is beautiful! The fae king is def my favorite, I think it comes down to the layering of the wings on the forehead.
I finally realized what the fairy king reminds me of... Ornamental cabbage leaves! So cool. Love your work!
Hah! I can't unsee it now!

You using resin without a respirator is so stressful, resin is so toxic

King of the Summer Court, and Queen of the Winter Court.
Absolutely beautiful in both cases.
Sad to see another talented creator fall in to organized crim, but it's clear now she's in deep with the Mab

you can iron paper! i don’t know how it would affect the watercolors, but a technique used with marbled paper is ironing it after it’s dry to flatten it
I never would have thought of that honestly! Genius!
Hello! A couple of thoughts 🤔
Have you tried Snazaroo face paint? They're made just down the road from me in Minehead UK.
Also, have you experimented with ironing wax over watercolour patterns? Put a sheet of brown paper between to save your iron (ish!) It comes out looking amazing!!! 😊 xxx
Ooh might be harder to get in Australia but I'll keep it in mind! I haven't tried that wax idea, but it sounds cool, I'll give it a go!
Enjoy ❤
I love to see you move your head around with the green one! Made such a fun wing flutter effect 😮
So, I wanted to ask a question. I assume for purposes of practicality that when your record your shorts you do so in batches? As removing and replicating these looks, let alone accurately every time, would be a nightmare. Just curious about the process, enjoy your stuff immensely.
Yeah I definitely film in bulk and release them over time!
@@MissTwisteddd Only logical, keep up the good work and of course have fun.
OH nostalgia! i think i had the same fairy books as a kid, i don't know for sure cause i don't have them anymore and i remember there being puzzles in the books as well as the story and water colored painting that look very similar too yours
Oooh really! I'd love to have some with puzzles in them!
Looking at my bookshelf, where I still have a Shirley Barber fairy tale puzzle book that I BEGGED my mom for as a kid.
I would really love to see you make a cosplay of The Unknown from Metal: Hellsinger, I think you're the one person to absolutely friggin nail it!
OOoh I've heard good things about the game and the Unknown actually looks great! Good suggestion!
Looking awesome man love it 🇬🇧
When you took the cured resin sheets back inside... and realised it looked.... FAIRY PROMISING!!!
Ooh that's a good idea!
@@MissTwisteddd never thought I'd get an answer back 😁😁😁😁
You make me miss arts and crafts ❤❤❤
Now I want to get some paper, and watercolor paints, and HAVE SOME FUN!!!!
Thank you for this video. I've been having trouble with inspiration for my fae costume for the ren faire, and now I have ideas.
Yes, poison is for plants, venom is for animals. I love this project!! I love watercolors and picked it up this year too, very satisfying. If you want to have more vibrant colors but have a bit of watercolor effect you can also try gouache paints.
I think adding black line like a blended in soul parh. The lower mouth area looked u finished. BEAUTIFULLY done, but d8strsctingly unfinished.
I will get down on my knees and beg, PLEASEEEEEE GO TO WIZARD QUEST DRESSED UP
You are a princess ✨❤✨❤✨❤✨❤✨❤✨✨Dilshad from pakistan🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰
I just recently found your channel and I must say you are extremely talented! I have never been very interested in cosplay however your work has completely changed my mind. I look forward to seeing more of your content.
The Emperor Protects.
Thank you! There's loads of different types of cosplay so I'm glad you found some you enjoy 😊
Awesome. Well worth it.
This was an amazing Cosplay. If you're familiar with Terry Pratchett, I'd love to see you try a Nac Mac Feegle Cosplay. They are my favourite fairies 😂
I keep meaning to read the terry Pratchett books they're exactly my kind of thing!
They are both my favorite!!!

I love it
I don't know how I found you, likely from the Hazbin Hotel hype-train, but I'm happy I found your channel none-the-less
I still like the owl chemist
How do you identify? Owl? Chemist? Potion Master? I can make a magic potion....curiosity killed the kitty...lose this or regret me
May I ask where you got your holo vinyl from? I’ve been looking for some that’s transparent just like that!! (Beautiful work, btw!!)
I think I’ll do this for Halloween ty for such a descriptive tutorial that looks amazing
Love both designs and they have inspired me to look at making 3D butterflies from some lining paper. Keep being a great source of knowledge and creativity
Waxing nostalgic and getting carried away is really the way we should all be.
You said they looked creepy….I disagree totally. They are absolutely stunning.
Id love to cosplay like this but, 1) Im broke, 2) I have terrible skin, and 3) I have social anxiety AND I never leave the house.
Oooh! I bet you could use this technique for a killer lionfish design!
Imagine an owl with a jawline 😂😂 id be dead laughing.
Your content is incredible !
You would totally get trapped in the Faire realm for stealing snacks. You'd probably have a great time.
At 70 I love your channel. Always enjoyed the fantasy world. You obviously have lived in that world in a past life and came here to share with us the reality and wonders of the fairy world..!
I think the execution was quite well done. In particular, the fae king has a very Green Man/Obad-Hai vibe.
I love doing this kind of stuff. I dont cosplay but lm an mix medium artist, and i have so many things I think you would really like. ❤
I love watching you art. And the finished product is amazing. ❤
