This song demonstrates one more amazing thing that the brothers could do, and I've rarely heard it remarked on. At places in this song, Barry and Robin are singing in unison and their voices blend so smoothly that they almost become one voice, different from either of their own voices. Then it becomes all the more striking when they split off again into two voices.
I remember back in the early 70's, I used to take turns with my neighbor listening to to Bee Gee's music. If you and your neighbor are listening to the same artist, that tells you something. The Bee Gees were and will be for ages to come darn Excellent!!!!!!
Main Course is such an insanely powerful album. It's pop, yeah, but it's powerful. It's powerful now, and more diverse than a label would pay for today.
my friend gave me a copy and I didn't realize it ... I heard most of the tracks already (hits, Greatest Hits CD, and BeeGees live) and now they are all together!
IMO, the album that came before this one (Mr. Natural?) Was largely an experent in finding a new sound. Main Course was a jubilant announcement of "We're here!" Comfortable with a newer, fresher sound that still yet contained everything their fans knew and loved.
I got into them as a child way before disco because I had older brothers and I heard Words. I fell in love with them and bought every album I could find. They were so under appreciated in the industry. They are some of the best musicians on the planet imo Three extremely talented brothers that harmonize perfectly like no other. Absolutely the best!
After attending special family events, if I could time travel, I would arrive at this particular concert. Bee Gees to me we’re near the top of their game and I would love to see them in this smaller venue. How I love Main Course, including this song. The three part harmony is magical. The interesting variations between Robin’s voice, Robin and Barry singing in unison and harmony and then the addition of Maurice’s high harmony keep me enthralled with this song. Love them so much.
@@barbarawebb7185 HE WAS THEN AND WAS OUTSIDE TANNING ON THE BEACH IN MIAMI FLORIDA IN THE SUMMER OF 1975 I WAS THERE IN FLORIDA WITH MY FAMILY THAT SUMMER I WAS ONLY 12 YEARS OLD
I never really cared much for their disco stuff. But I *love* this song. It was about their best effort, along with "Massachusetts." So glad to see this uploaded.
Been a bee gees fan for long but never got a chance to listen to this awesome song ive always skipped this whenever i see this on the album lmao now i regret it 😁😆🤣😭❤❤❤
I love their fantasy imagery, demonstrated earlier, with Sir Geoffrey saved the World,Craise Finton Kirk,Cucumber Castle,Mornng of my Life, most of the Odessa album, and many others.Away from the more normal songs, the Gibbs were able to create a wonderful surreal song you instantly felt comfotable with, and a part of.Same feeling you got from Strawberry Fields.
This was the first concert I saw on Soundstage - the KPBS concert. 1975, this song has always resonated with me. To this day it remains my favorite album. Main Course. I bought it for 4.99, a lot of money for my $5. Allowance. It’s got hits sure, but the best album tracks ever. Ranks up there with Abbey Rd, in my opinion.(my fav Beatles album)
I lost my older brother last year at this time so I lnow a little of what Barry is feeling. However, to lose both your brothers? It's a double gut punch and 1 or 2 brothers? The loss mist be unbearable for him as it is for me. You never get over it. Never.
I remember watching this live and it was one of the first simulcasts it was in sync with 107.5 . I had a Pioneer SX780 and Infinity QX104 speakers was a good time for The Bee Gees then sadly came Saturday Night Fever
The backing band deserves mention. They were a perfect fit with the brothers. Many wonder what "Shenendora" means. My feeling is, it's "Shenendoah" bastardized by their accents. They were known for sharing writing credits, but my thought is, this song is mostly Robin's. It just seems like the sort of song he would write. At any rate, a great song and performance.
MERRY CHRISTMAS MY DARLING HUSBAND BEAUTIFUL BARRY AND SWEET ROBIN WITH HIS BEAUTIFUL RED HANDSOME HAIR AND HIS SWEET FACE HE IS ALWAYS SMILING WHEN HE SINGS SO SWEETLY

Good point. Amazing voices!!
Yes they totally blend - and then when they are solo - you cannot believe you cannot distinguish their blended voices. It is amazing.
Maurice Gibb made that same point.
Genetics of the 2 twins were different as day and night Maurice and Robin, yet Barry and little brother Andy were like 2 peas in a pod at adult age.
It’s been brought up before.
I remember back in the early 70's, I used to take turns with my neighbor listening to to Bee Gee's music. If you and your neighbor are listening to the same artist, that tells you something. The Bee Gees were and will be for ages to come darn Excellent!!!!!!
This could easily be my favorite Bee Gees song.
Main Course is such an insanely powerful album. It's pop, yeah, but it's powerful. It's powerful now, and more diverse than a label would pay for today.
Andrew, I bought this fantastic album, in a second hand market, here in Rome, near mint, 8€!!!!
my friend gave me a copy and I didn't realize it ... I heard most of the tracks already (hits, Greatest Hits CD, and BeeGees live) and now they are all together!
Amen to that
IMO, the album that came before this one (Mr. Natural?) Was largely an experent in finding a new sound. Main Course was a jubilant announcement of "We're here!" Comfortable with a newer, fresher sound that still yet contained everything their fans knew and loved.
I've been trying to turn everyone I can onto it. One of the tightest post Beatles pop albums ever made
Great song..rarely heard..for me it’s a hit..R.I.P. sweet Robin & Mo😢
For me, it was relatively HEARD. On my record player and tape tape deck, circa 1978. Yes, just my dog and I.
ROBIN, sweetest, brightest , shyest, and most underrated....beautiful soul, beautiful voice....2019

My husband and I fell in love to this song 44 years ago❤️
This is such a great song. The whole Main Course LP is great!
It’s magic when Maurice adds his 3 part harmony!
In which minute please?
@@bernardosousario9301 I first notice it about 1:45? Not the only time, and not sure if that's what Jerri was referring to, but....
He adds SO much to the blend - you do not realise that it is HIS voice that is missing when he is not singing.
The Bee Gees is the best all the time
Yes they is. I
Absolutely. History will bear that out.
Robin was out of this world.. miss him !
My Dad loved this song. Hearing this lovely song by the great BeeGees reminds me of my great parents! Miss them so…

"I look out on forever, and it must be nice down there." What a great lyric!!
It's on the Here at last album. I bought it in 77. I still have it. I'm proud of me because I had such impeccable taste when I was only a spotty teen.
I got into them as a child way before disco because I had older brothers and I heard Words. I fell in love with them and bought every album I could find. They were so under appreciated in the industry. They are some of the best musicians on the planet imo

The music sounds very country, but the singing is pure BeeGees
I never really cared much for their disco stuff. But I *love* this song. It was about their best effort, along with "Massachusetts." So glad to see this uploaded.

THEY ARE SO CUTE TOGETHER SINGING THE GIBBS ARE ALWAYS THE BEST
So much better live than the studio version. It sounded like they were mocking their own record near the end of the original studio version.
I like this song! Thank you!
Robin's looks distract me from actually listening to this beautiful song. Because he is beautiful. lol.

Great song and performance . We were at this. Channel 11 studios . Saw 3 or 4 tapings . Wonderful memories. Thanks for this !!

Voci SUPER FANTASTICHEEEEEE!!!
In the record, their voices are blended. I prefer this version better for robin's voice is more clear
I've always wanted to hear them do an acoustic version of this, but as far as I can find out they never did it.
Thank You .
WOW THEY LOOK GREAT AND I LOVE THIS SONG IT IS SO SWEET AND SO CREATIVE AND COUNTRY MUSIC
Adimiraveis 🎤🎸🎹
Oh, I get why the world is such a sorry and sad puppy!.... No more Bee Gees.
