    You have quickly become my favourite wedding photographer UA-camr. You explain things in such a great and inspiring way, you're comforting and welcoming to watch, and very similar to my own style so your videos are so helpful for me. Thanks for sharing your info, work and experience!

    That drone idea is gooood. At least if there's some music overpowering the sound of it 😅 Will def do this at some point.

    Love this man! You’re delivering content that your audience loves to see! Killer stuff. Your work has Re-sparked my love for the 50mm!
    Here are my questions after watching the new video:
    -what mat do you use for FlatLays?
    -do you bring your own “props” to spice it up or do you only use what's given to you?
    Also, it would be really fun to see you walk through a full album edit. The same album and see photos you don't choose and certain portraits you get excited about. Also what you do when you blend the film into the album! Anyways, amazing stuff!

      Thanks so much! Such kind words.
      Heirloom bindery ( doesn’t exist anymore)
      But I’m planning a video about my styling process.
      And yes I bring a few things but I don’t go overboard.
      Great idea! I’ve thought about that before but I do have some concerns about showing photos on UA-cam that’s aren’t finals, for example an outtake where a client doesn’t look good or something. For my clients sake I want to make sure they are always looking best in the photos i show. But maybe there’s a way I could do something similar. Thanks for the ideas!

    Great video, Luke! If you set your drone to Timelapse mode with a pretty frequent interval, you’ll be able to use photos instead of a screen capture.

      I literally though of that while posting this video 😂😂 but you saying it too I’ll have to look into that for this season

    Do you shoot fully manual or on aperture priority? I noticed there's a lot of variation in your shutter speed. Would love a video on how you go about picking your settings.

      Manual! Noted! I'll try to incorporate that into a future video!

    Hey Luke, i am curious about the settings on the photo that you have taken the bride at the stairs:
    Iso 800 (why?)
    Shutter 3200(why?)
    Aperture 1.2
    Thanks 😊

    the Bride walking along the home balcony area shows one important thing related to posing of the bridal gown. By allowing the bride to actually walk before stopping and placing her arm on the railing and turning her head to look, photographers should note that the gown follows the bride to the rear and if a bride does turn, the gown will also follow to the side. Note that the gown will never be in front of her unless it is positioned there by someone. Don't be the someone. Pose the gown either to the rear or the side of the bride but never in front. This image was perfect to show the concept as it came as a natural result of allowing the bride to walk.
    Loved the drone image. Interesting way to capture the final image.
    Never did digital weddings as by the time of digital imaging, I had retired after 33 years - now for 25 years coming up the end of December.
    A couple of questions. Why no packaging and pricing info on the website? Also, do you create albums in paper form or just provide digital files? How many images taken related to your $3k, $5k and 10K coverages and what are some of the major differentiations? How many images do the B/G get to see and how many do they finally have to keep as part of each package category? Are all wedding sizes inclusive of full evening coverage?
    Do folks still ask to go to various parks in the GTA? I know that one day when I was at James Gardens, in one area alone I counted 50 Brides and that was before making use of the side to the L when entering the park and also before going up to the upper level to make use of the buildings there. Bit of a hike but worth it. Usually limited that time to working with the Bridal Party and then the B & G for portraits before departing to the reception.

    I love your stuff... I'm a professional architectural photographer - but we also own a bridal boutique - my wife was SHOCKED that I'm actually a good people/wedding photographer. She wants me to photograph weddings so I've brushing up on trends - thanks for sharing such great content.

    why do you shoot at such a different shutter speed? is it a typo 11:45 ?

    • @lukewtcleland
      @lukewtcleland  11 місяців тому +1

      lol yes it probably should have been 1/320 not 1/3200 haha

    Greet video - I subscribed the other day and really love your channel. I was wondering why you would shoot at 800 iso and 3200 shutter speed and not shoot at the lowest iso and lower SS instead?

    Do you bring some special background for your flatlays? I struggle with getting consistent look and use mostly any surface I can find (mostly tables or floor)

    • @lukewtcleland
      @lukewtcleland  Рік тому +2

      Always bring my own. I never rely on finding something. If I find something great I'll use it, but most of the time I use what i bring. I plan to do a flatlay video in the future.
