Just slowly let off of it, don't be in a rush..They work in sync. Just think of it like you're letting off the clutch slowly In order to get the momentum of the gas going. Right foot down while left foot carries that gas acceleration. You've got it!

Even people who've been driving a stick for years don't downshift/switch gears correctly. Do it slowly. Lift up off the clutch slowly and Rev up the gas. You've got it!
