Could i point out that a claim of insanity or mental inaptitude will be difficult to uphold when your client is known for his marvelous red stone contraptions.
Skizz: calling witnesses, entering recordings into evidence, making genuine arguments
Joe: your honorhighness, my client is an unhinged emotionally distraught baby
To be fair to Joe. This case was pretty clear cut and had he called witnesses, that would have just made it worse.
The big baby strategy had at least some chance of working and it's true, so that's always good.

Joe could have argued that Cleo's claim of emotional distress is lacking and that they and Ren found humor in the situation. It was only the possibility of compensation that led her to start a case
It's so funny too cuz it's not what I expected of Joe hahahaha I expected him to be super down with the real protocols cuz he's so knowledgeable about stuff like that usually (which I'm sure he still is)
So I really enjoyed his method in contrast to Skizz hahaha
Joe's case was sound. People with high IQ can sometimes have low EQ. Emotional Quotient.
Because he DocM77 cannot explain the work and Because others feel embarrassed by things they think are putting them down, by not understanding something seemingly simple to intelligent and often they cannot, and so produce defense mechanisms to avoid a sense of embarrassment and usually find social constructs such as grouping and herding to form social connection through their peers to obtain confirmation biases to offset their Emotion sense of inadequate though no one said inadequate. In fact great lengths are used to explain the same things in multiple ways.
While then this grouping of shame tends to provoke. In turn the other leaves them be and outcasts himself as a recluse.
This leads to low Emotional quotient having no ability to converse with others other than objects. Without social connection emotions never develop or are mitigated through conversation and assessment a skill of voicing and hearing and feedback.
DocM clearly described what he was going through and Cleo provoked him by clearly saying she not only didn't understand Emotional trauma but overreacting.

Joe's case was true and accurate and appropriate.
I love that Doc killed his own lawyer, Joe Hills from Nashville, Tennessee, and in revenge, Joe spent the entire trial calling his client a baby.
The best thing about that whole trial! Joe was savage to his client! 😂 I think Skizz simply handed Joe the nails to hammer into Doc's coffin!
Have you guy's looked before at Joe Hills? There's a tribute song to a Joe Hills who died as an advocate of the people. The irony here is uncanny and doubly so as Joe is often a advocate to people and trying to get people together to understand one another.

Daytime tv courts typically pays the judgement (that's how they get people to go on in the first place) - so in order to remain true to it's origins, I really think BDubs should be the one playing skyblock for the next two weeks.

Did you see the part where iJeven walks over and beheads the prosecuting attorney and no one says anything, like Cleo sneaking up to the witness stand to mess with Rendog's attorney (I think she flipped her head upside down), and no one said anything?
Doc's like making the scene at the end and as he's saying "my veins are popping out if my neck, and my head is going to explode... iJeven is killing Skizzleman. Doc keeps walking around and facing the corner wall and then the camera until iJevin returns to the public benches.
I don't think I've laughed so hard in years. Between Skizz's shocking competence, Joe's defense being "your highness my client is but a baby in the body of a man and the victims were mistreating him", Bdubs being.. something.. and Doc murdering his own lawyer IN THE COURTROOM WITH FOUR CAMERAS TRAINED ON THEM IN FRONT OF THE JUDGE, I don't think I could breathe once. Fantastic. I can't wait to see 2 episodes of Docm77 Skyblock.

Theoretically using a basalt generator like the one mumbo used in his bridge builder would make it very quick and easy to cover large swathes of the sky at once.

People are really looking past Jevin as a prime suspect. He knows everything about Minecraft so he's redstone savvy enough. He had the patience to cover Scar's entire Death Star with concrete for a prank. He resides in the U.S. which matches the time frame. He just built a shop right next to Doc's, hiding in plain sight. And as the owner of said head shop, good chance he already had a goat head on hand to use on the alarm.
I think Jevin is more the kind of guy to break his way in with a hotbar full of totems instead of sneaking and teleporting, I don't remember if he has done anything similar with chorus fruits or skulk sensors before though. Assuming the evidence left at the scene wasn't staged and that was indeed the infiltration method.
iJevin the more kind guy? No one's talking about iJevin beheading prosecuting attorney Skizz in the court room. Not cleo, not the judge, no one said anything like no one saw it. Very strange.
IJevin also had the patience to lay in wait under Hypnotised to kill him in Demise. It was his proudest voice to praise how long he travailed as perseverance to kill a person hiding in secret.

I've been saying this since I found out about the whole Ore Snatcher chicanery, only Cub is this good at deception and 9-dimensional mind games to pull such an elaborate ploy. The Jingler revalation happened *YEARS* after the scenario and all the Hermits, even *GRIAN,* the second most mind-game pulling Hermit, was surprised about it.

My theory that I haven't seen anyone else posit: It's the snails! They've been running a diamond ore laundering scheme and got cocky with their heist success, and they've decided to become diamond ore master thieves.

Not saying it's not Cub, but could be another diversion because it appears to be a regular goat head whereas with how many Cub has I'd expect a screaming goat head for more annoyance factor.
@@sambuma it's true that if it was a screaming goat you could say with pretty much certainty it was cub. I'd think cub would be aware though that placing a screaming goat could only be done by him since those are extremely rare.
Placing a normal goat head for a fun taunt has way less risk but still can be used to make assumptions since I don't think redstoners who could disable the alarm all have access to spare goatheads, like for example I don't think Mumbo has goatheads just in storage.
@@murphyellents I suspect Cub as much as Doc does at this point, but a regular goat head would be easy enough for others to obtain with a looting sword. Especially with all the non-screaming goats Cub let roam free in the process of breeding his screaming goats.
So either we get two episodes of basically skyblock. Or Doc uses a loophole and doesn't stay for 2 week IRL but 14 minecraft days.

You're right. Cleo packing the survival supplies chest for this will massively underestimate what he can do with very little, having plotted their own narrative for how they will expect it to go. Doc won't play. Doc'll make it his own game.
it was the 1st thing that came to my mind, and since hermits insta sleep when its night, it would just be 3h IRL 😅 but I'm pretty sure Doc will actually do 14 days IRL, because it's kinda free content, since he will most definetly be able to do some crazy revenge from the sky.
Imagine doc exiled to the sky, with a cobblestone generator at his disposal. Perhaps the Time of Darkness has arrived?

I know Xisuma has been trying to find good ways to gather deepslate, trying things with the Wither and whatnot- you could totally make this tunnel digger into a bit of an event and have the other Hermits run around trying to collect as much as possible in the wake of the explosion

Well Doc, time to make a whole network of Cobblestone pathways across the sky, through the shopping district, and to everyones bases. Because this way you are not touching the ground, you are touching your own made bridges from your sky island. You can even go back to your own base and get resources there (or have them ready in your shulker/ender chest and ask someone to place an ender chest.)
There can be so many loopholes with this specific punishment.

Depend what kind of water : splash potions of water work in the nether (I find that cheaper than the fire resistant potion 😅)

Technically speaking neither his tree farm nor his storage are touching the ground, so he can just use everything at his disposal to “rain justice from above”, without braking Bdubs judgement.
Cleo's probably not going to give him enough rockets to reach the swamp from the skyblock without touching the ground. If there's anyone who will think of potential loopholes, it's Cleo.
@@dbseamzif I were cleo I would build the platform right in the middle of spawn area, but really high up and then provide him w the materials to make a cobblestone generator and the basic-est chicken farm for food. And thats it

If given enough supplies build a coble gen and then mine and mine and mine,
Using cobble stairs, slabs and blocks make a pretty pattern that blocks out the sun over ZombieCleo base, turning it into unsafe MOB farm even in the day.
Any attempt to remove it can be called destruction of your personal property and then you can have a new trial.
On one hand that maybe too petty so never mind but on the other hand it would be something to keep you busy for the two weeks.
This is more cub’s MO. He’s the sneaky sort-and he doesn’t have the need for people to know it’s him and he’s probably the most patient of the hermits to pull this off

Doc, your punishment is that you need to survive on a Sky island. The only thing you are not allowed to do is make your feet touch the ground.
They never said you couldn't leave, They never said you couldn't bring your own supplies nor get supplies elsewhere.
They never gave their definition of what "Ground" means in this case. As the dictionariy describes it as the solid surface of the earth And that is important, also when you consider what "Feet" are.
These 2 things are never defined by the court and therefore can only be interepreted as their definition in the dictionary, this means that as long as Docm77 isn't walking around with bare feet, he can get off of the island and walk around as he pleased around the shopping district. So, as long as he wears some kind of boots, he is completely free to stand where he pleases.
He could also get an animal to ride on if he needs to. Or use wooden blocks to lay in front of him to make sure his feet never touches the ground, boots and socks can have holes in them, and doc is a respectful man who always keeps his word.
Logs, Planks, Bricks, Cobblestone, Slimeblocks, Honeyblocks, Glass, Netherrack, nether brick Endstone, Iron blocks, Copper blocks, Quartz just ot name a few blocks he can use to walk on by layering it ontop of the ground where he needs to walk.
Why this is important? Depending on the definition of "Ground" and whether he can leave his Island, means he may not be able to supply the server with wood for 2 weeks straight. Wood is a critical block used by every hermit and he holds most of these permits. This punishment doesn't just punish Docm77, but also, negatively, affects each and every hermit.
A way to remedy this is to create farms that directly feeds his shops, but to do that in a short amount of time means he needs to build this under the shop, in the shopping district which then causes a lot of lag when the shop has fallen under the "Minimum Stock Level" criteria.
All of which is to say; this punishment is very damaging to the server as a whole, but as a whole minimally affects Doc in the grand scheme of things, it is just a temporary base relocation as well as a new game plus. as he can still take his gear and any reasourses he can carry with him. which is a theoretical max of 63973 blocks. this includes filling the Hotbar, and the off hand with filled shulkerboxes which are then also counted as blocks.

Idea: Get a Dummy Minecraft account whitelisted such as “GoodTineWithScar”, set its skin to the hermit’s skin, and see if you can catch the ore snatcher in the act. They’re obviously never gonna do it while you’re online, but they might if they don’t realise you are.

Scar is a Poe Poe member who seems pretty determined to catch the Ore Snatcher. A camouflage skin like what Zed used for his spying last season might be better, Doc could hide up in the hourglass or something where glass and water rendering could make it hard for a nametag to be noticed.

this is legitimately one of the best hermitcraft episodes ever of any kind. skizz and joe absolutely killed it, and bdubs was the perfect judge being hilarious and random, but also fair (sorry doc) and of course none of it would have even happened without the chaos and violence of doc and cleo

The fact, that doc showed off his crazy lazy link TNT canon and directly afterwards shoots the arrow at the copper lamp and not the target block, not understanding Bdubs' redstone is hilariousely ironic
I didn't understand that either.
To be frank, Doc has shown signs of mental fatigue in thoughts breaking up at times losing comprehension of immediate thoughts.
The mix-up of the light for the switch is a highly pronounced disconnect with an internal struggle of confusion and I hope more people pick up on these nuances and start talking about them.

I can't pick a favorite moment from that entire court case, because everything was gold. I was wheezing so much i had to re watch it to hear what i missed! If this is what real court room television is like, then i have been missing out! I'm going to be thinking back to this and chuckling to myself for a loooong time.

He wasn't going for an insanity defense, his actual argument is far more absurd. He was not saying that Doc has the the brain of a child or a condition that makes him incapable of understanding the consequences of his actions, he was trying to convince the court that Doc actually IS an infant and shouldn't be held responsible because his brain hasn't fully developed.

There _are_ things you can't plead insanity or ignorance on (tax evasion being the biggest one, Joker fears the IRS more than he fears Batman), and in Hermitcraft, I'd assume "messing with redstone" is one of those things...

So basically what I learned from the first half of the video is that Doc can quantum mine, second half of the video I learned that Doc now has motivation to quantum mine the whole server from the safety of the clouds. Just need someone to bring a couple of shulkers of supplies.. *cough* Ren *cough*

I love the starting bit when you are trying to solve a mistery and people show up out of nowere one by on like it was a crime show or a Scooby Doo episode LOL
That court case was a nightmare. Neither lawyer called Chleo or Doc to the stand and they both had to speak out of turn at the end, Joe said "the defence rests" after like a minute ("resting" means they have nothing more to say until closing statements), he never once objected to Cleo or Skizz' statements, and Joe never once did the obvious; call into question whether Cleo really was distressed or not and whether a replacement pig would be sufficient. Joe easily could have accused Cleo of "lawfair" - abusing the court's time to resolve petty arguments or to sue someone into submission - and request a move to arbitration. Or better yet, the whole thing could have been dismissed as a waste of time.
It wouldn't have gotten an "innocent" verdict either way but it would reduced the penalties, pronably down to just a replacement pig (along with nametag and saddle). I know it's all for fun, but the fact that the proceedings were all wrong could have been used against Cleo and Skizz (and BDubs himself). Joe's move for an insanity plea in a case of Doc v Cleo was a bold move as both of them - as well as the judge and both lawyers - were equally guilty of that 🤣

You know, I think you may not be getting into the spirit of Tall Claims Court here. If this were a normal court proceeding, I think it probably wouldn't have gone past the point where Doc murdered his own lawyer before opening arguments, but Tall Claims Court has its own set of rules. We may not know exactly what they are, but we know that they are Built Different (and taller).
