How would you clip it to stay in the area of where it bends if there's a downspout extension pulled over the existing spout?

Switch to ABS DWV pipes. They are quiet, super tough and paintable.

The sponge is waterproof but the STEEL clip is not and will will create rust stains on your house

These are not flexible whatsoever. he bends them in the video in real life the product does not stay bent. it consists of some mesh glued to a plastic "cardboard" like material.
