(3/5) Why are there so many famous Japanese architects?

Part three of this series in which I try to unravel why there are so many famous Japanese architects. The ranking is not according to importance and I would like to note that it is not just one reason but a combination of all the ten that I mention.
In this episode we will see what the influence of the Metabolist architects had on the younger Japanese generation and influencing them into studying architecture. At university the mighty Kazuo Shinohara would funnel their architectural dreams towards the individual home, proclaiming that the house is a piece of art.
