I use google drive locally so what i did was link my obsidian to a folder in my local google drive and it automatically syncs so I dont have to worry about the storage space
When you click settings there’s groups. Just create it based on how you sort. I use folders, so you just do path:Entertainment/ and a color and boom anything under that folder would be the color
Michaal, this is a great question, and one that requires a more considered response. I'm going to make a video on this and report back here when I do. :) Thanks!
@@mr_mr the good thing about obsidian is that it can consist of many overlapping organisation methods. As well as what you see here you can organise your notes in folders and sub folders like you would in other systems. Then there is the option to tag notes and to search in many ways too. Then one of the most important features is the links between notes, that creates a very useful way to organise notes by linking to other relevant notes, they also have a more focused “local” graph view which just looks at the links to and from your current note. Then there is also canvases which are kind of like a board that you can insert notes, images, text, websites and other things into and create purely visual links between them. If you think about a project, you can break it down into sub projects and have a folder and main document for each, from there you can continue to go deeper and branch out using links in a sort of hierarchy, with the possibility to link to whatever other note you want too. Probably the best way to use it is to start with a single note and then branch out as you break down your idea and develop it further. That is only a possible project based structure though, different types of notes will require different organisational strategies.

It is free without syncing and is local, all files are only stored on your device, so completely offline, unless you use their sync or publish features in which case they are stored online but at least in the case of sync, I believe they are encrypted.

How much is it taking? That's one of my concern if I move to Obsidian. Evernote stores everything and don't have to worry about it😅

In Graph view under groups you can create keyword matching categories with different colours.
