    A friend has just given me an x26 and I wanted to refresh my awareness of this recorder. My main use is to record separate loops like you've done here as separate rhythmic elements for different tracks I'm playing live. This way I have four pre programmed beats I can rely on throughout my performance. Plus, it's easy enough to create other groups of beats on other cassettes that can be switched out as I need them. Saves a lot of grief over relying on digital gear messing up!

    Is there anyway you can workout how long to cut the tape .. say you want to play a piece for 8 seconds and have an 8 second continuous loop .. how much tape would you need ? Is there a way to work that out ?
    Great video by the way

      Lo scotch carta sulla testina serve per evitare l'intervallo nel suono del drone.

    Here's an even easier method. Record and loop stuff perfectly on a computer or laptop using an editor like Audacity. All you do is select roughly half of the clip, cut it, and paste at the end. Then select a few seconds either side of where it joins and use 'crossfade clips' from the edit menu. Voila, perfect loop! Most editors or DAWs can do this. Now, play back your perfect loop and record onto your old 4-track for that shitty tape quality sound. Record 5 or 10 minutes, or however long it takes to get bored, then play the tape and record back to the computer. Sometimes I nudge the pitch control while it's running...Authentic wobbly tape sound that you can now arrange at your leisure on the computer, resample, add plugin FX or whatever. Enjoy! Alternatively just download a free tape plugin, and put the 4-track in the bin. Plenty of options 😉

      @Mario Inghes how was that being disrespectful? I was simply sharing a much easier way to get the same sound. Tape loops are a pain in the arse, nothing to do with 'years of sacrifice'.

    What a complete waste of time. Use a DAW. It is easier and you will not have any drop outs.

    • @PerryFrank
      @PerryFrank  9 місяців тому +4

      Use a daw to play so you have not to buy a guitar, use the ai to make music so you can make music without being a musician.
      Do you really think that true analog sounds can be compared to any daw tones?
      Everyone has their own taste, no worries about it, but I prefer my true tones.
      Cheers
