You can tell this department doesn’t fight much fire when the officer yanks the line from a junior mans hands to get the glory. You pulled the crosslay, you managed the hose, you spray the water. Shame on that officer for taking that experience from you.
Something is better than nothing despite being “just” a junior FF. Don’t use that word “just”. You responded and did something. Be proud of your service even though the structure was a loss.
Don’t give up the nozzle that easily, next time tell your officer to feed you hose while you get in there! Overall good job containing it tho, stay safe 🤙🏻
You don’t need a second line. You need to get in there and put the fire out. I didn’t see any residents standing outside. Guess we’re not gonna search the structure either?
no SCBA? defensive or not at some point your going to have to get inside that place.,dont assume its unoccupied until its searched, there looks to be bedrooms towards the rear and thet could be accessed via VES. Dont trust a boss that takes your nozzle away, hes out for his own ego and not watching out for his crew
If only there was something we could wear on our backs and faces that kept us from having to breath in that smoke. I guess not wearing it at all makes you look less dumb than wearing it and not using it. Volunteers….shakes head

Overall great job by a low staffed volunteer company. Word of advice always pack up even if it's defensive, or in overhaul stages.

Y’all ever heard of SCBAs

or do a 360, like a first due officer should do?
@@aidangreggYeah not trying to Monday morning quarterback but there’s a lot of things that should’ve been done differently.
Do we consider mobile homes “structures”
What would you call it?
Hey what helmet cam do you have?
Getting it done!

No SCBA is insane. Always always pack up no matter if it’s a working fire or not
Dude, how can you become a junior. I cant find anyone to contact
Just get up with your local fire department, our department has meetings Monday and anyone is welcome.
Not all departments have junior/explorer programs. Just go to your local department and ask.

Are you scared of it or what ?? SCBA and get in there
It looks like his helmet is green, I assume hes a junior
the other guys I don't know
Total loss from the beginning. Not worth going in
You can tell that’s a rural dept, no air tanks or masks. Need better training
It’s a shame this department can’t afford mask and air tanks for their firefighters.
