Ewa-Marine underwater camera enclosures have been around for decades. We used Nikon Nikonos cameras and Ewa bags during the 70s - 90s for weather protection shooting hurricanes. The neck strap kept the storm from ripping your camera out of your hands. Remember, water produces pressure. 1 atmosphere every 33 ft. 66 ft = 2 atmospheres, 99 ft = 3 atmospheres, etc. Simple enclosures can allow the pressure to depress your shutter button. You either snorkel or dive at shallower depth not allowing the pressure to effect your shutter button or take your shot, cover the lens w/your hand (closing the shutter) and swim up to the depth your shutter button pops up, mechanically closing the shutter. Also, every 10 ft horizontal = 1 f/stop of light. That’s why wide lenses are preferred. Ikelite makes good, less expensive housings.

pierre, Im planning tp get my very first camera, I'm not really into professional stuff, but I just wanna shoot mainly pictures of my family and street photography, maybe some city landscape for my travelling. Xt3 body is on sale right now for 1350 canadian dollar, regular price was 1800, same as the x100v, should i go with the xt3 or X100v? Any thoughts or recommendations?

For filming underwater there’s absolutely no need to take big cameras to underwater shoots. The Osmo Action and GoPro are absolutely fine for underwater shoots. They literally shoot 4K HDR video. You just kinda have to trust the auto settings but 9/10 times it’s just fine.
