I really can’t tell too much of a difference. Only thing I can think of is the twist king being a bit more sanitary and it doesn’t remove as much product from your hair as the sponge.
i think its also a texture difference. you should reverse the sponge over with the bumpy side like you did with the twist king. it seems like you were using the flat side of the sponge instead of the bumpy side
i got braids now but i remember when i used to use the curl sponge, alot of my hair would come out due to the material of the sponge and friction from what i see the twist king has way better material long term for your hair

Twist king is better. Look like the sponge side is flatten down. And curls are more defined with the twist king
