I'm here because of your sweet gift to Little Gretchen. My plans for today have changed, now I'm off to make dishes! The heck with housework, it'll be there tomorrow.
@@barbaramroczka8970 That is my motto for housework! It'll still be there tomorrow, but today I'll make minis! Thank you so much for stopping by, I really appreciate it. Have fun making plates!
Finally, a good use for my biomedical and drafting templates. 😸 I plan on making a rendezvous scene with small canvas tents, out houses, trading blankets, fire pits etc. This technique will help me make the enamel wear for the kitchen boxes and camp sets. Thank you.
I am sitting here in amazement! They are So PRETTY!!! The PINK is ADORABLE! This is So Original! When I saw how you created the handles, was like Whoa!!! I thought the handles were wire!!! This was Great! I want to try this! this technique is great and so many possibilities!!! I LOVE THEM! THANK YOU!!!!
OMG I love it!! Especially the rusty plates! I'm going to try this technique with aluminium. You always have great tricks to make your minis and every time I can't help but think: but why didn't I think of that sooner!😅😅 Thanks for sharing! 💕💕💞💞
Awww thanks! Absolutely give it a go, the disposable pie pans are so cheap and one will last for a LOT of plates, so it's good for experimenting with. Thanks for watching.
I've never seen this idea for plates before! I've tried cardboard and polymer clay but wasnt happy with the outcome. I've bought plates and decorated them instead but I'm not happy with their thickness. I'd wondered about filing the bottom down, but I think I'll give this tutorial a go and retire the mass produced ones into the back of the kitchen cuboard as filler! Much thanks!
@JoF999 That's awesome, the bonus of using the disposable pie dish is that it's inexpensive, and you can get so many plates out of one. I imagine you might potentially even be able to use one of your mass produced plates as the mold or form to shape your plates. Have fun!
@nessiemonstercrafts that's a great idea! I have a load of disposable tin serving dishes, serving no other purpose than as clutter lol so I will try the plate molding too! Thanks!
Love your plates! What a clever idea! I will definitely have to make some! I haven’t been able to make cups or mugs. It’s the handle that I struggle with. I never thought to make a handle like that before. Cant wait for the picnic basket!! It’s looks amazing!Thank you for sharing your great ideas!!❤
Experiment with different types of glue to make the handles, I've seen some creators using wood glue, I used tacky glue, I think even PVA might work too to stiffen the cord or string. I tried using wool but it was just too hairy and needed a LOT of trimming to tidy it up.
do you have a tut on making the flatware? I love this! I made Hagred's hut, and now I need table stuff. He's got the front room and his bedroom at the back. I was thinkin' of making an outhouse! lol hey... when ya gotta go, ya gotta go! 😀😃😄😁😆😅🤣😂
@@Stizel-Swik Lmao an outhouse is essential or poor old Hagrid will be caught in a very tricky situation! Sorry I haven't figured out how to make flatware yet, but I'm working on it. In the meantime I'm just using some I bought off Aliexpress online. Thanks for watching!
@@KimGibsonfiberlover When you are using the ball stylus to press the plates into the stencil, remember to take your time and it will ease into shape nicely. If you press too hard and too fast while forming the centre circle it might tear the metal. Slow and steady wins the race, and once you have that part done, then you can work on getting the nice smooth edge. The thing that always bothered me about paper or cardstock plates was the rim would get crinkled.
Did you make that picnic-suitcase at the end as well? It's sooo cute with your little accessories! I don't now what it's all about picnic-suitcases, in real they are totally impractical, but I'm always fascinated about the ordering in it, promising having a great time outside!
Yes I did make the picnic basket, it's in the video due to post on July 31st. I always look at picnic baskets and wonder how they fit the food and drink in there as well as all the plates and cups etc. But they look good!

I loved that you just explained what you did. So many others can yabber on for ever and say nothing. Thank you.
@@jakea1035 Thanks for watching. I get what you mean. I'm terrible with small talk so I just stick with the process
So sweet! So creative and fabulous use of recycled materials! Many thanks! ❤Kathleen

I need to go make some of these! I tried with card and didn't like them, too flimsy. These should do the trick! Thank you.
