A smoked turkey leg, onions and garlic, red pepper flakes, turnips or rootabegas, lots of black pepper and a dash of vinegar is what my moma and grandmother used!
I'm sitting in bed taking deep breaths like you said in one of your videos. I went to the hospital & have so much mucus backed up in my chest & I was getting depressed, but once I seen you guy's, I don't feel so alone anymore. I just started watching ya'll 2weeks ago & I love your content🙏🏽❤️

I had Mucus in my lungs like that doing the pandemic I got my husband and sister Pam to just hit me in the back like karate chops, and that helped me out a lot to loosen up that mucus also drink hot liquids. Matter fact I made my own hot liquid. I will make it for you so you can see how I made it. It helped me out.❤❤❤
@mamaTspeaks Thank you so much! I've been feeling a little bit better since I've commented on here. I can breathe good now, still some mucus, but I Thank God that I'm getting better because it could've been worse. Thank you so much for you guys Prayers🙏🏽because there is power in the name of Jesus❤️
I love to see you too, beautiful ladies. You bring so many memories back even though I know how to cook. I still enjoy watching you. I'm never too old to learn more. I lost my mother in 2012, and I really wish she would have written a cookbook, I learned to cook by watching Mama, and when you talk about mixing green, start laughing remembering when I said mama go sit down and rest I can watch the food, I start watching TV, OH my GOD the juice done almost cooked out, I had to think fast I grabbed a cabbage chopped it up and washed it added it on top of them greens a little bit of water and a touch of mustard about teaspoon sugar. And as scared as I was, Mama said child I needed that sleep, everybody said mama can I have some more collar greens? "These greens are so good, Mama said your sister cooked. I later confessed what happened. So now my sister's always wants me to cook, you know how to throw down in the kitchen, and the younger generation keeps saying you need to open a restaurant called Mama's Kitchen, My nephew said auntie what's your secret I know one is a little sugar and mustard so I know he's taking notes, lol 😆 I didn't forget about them onions and tomatoes mama always had them on the side with some hot cornbread.
The lady that raised me was an older Christian woman on the usher board at church and an excellent cook. She would use Strick -o-lean. It was a salted white block the size of a fat back block. I don’t think that the Younger generation even know what it is, but miss Charlotte knew how to use it in cooking greens, Dried beans and turnips. Turnip greens have small wht turnips and she would cook them with the turnips from the garden and make a batch of delicious cornbread. Yummy .
Thank you for blessing us with your recipes. I’m cooking a dinner with Mama T recipes! My mom passed when I was 18 so this channel is a blessing for me. ❤
🙏Mama T and Sister Pam praying for you to be safe in the storm coming.🙏Father God we ask you to calm the wind and waves of the approaching hurricane, and spare those in it path. Amen Amen🙏 I am worried about you both and your family. We used ham hocks growing up and fat back it was so good. Thank you for the tip on the baking soda. Oh yeah I remember the green worm😄MamaT you just brought back some good memories growing up picking greens , preparing them and eating them. Your greens look so good. God Bless You both😇
I use hog jowls, turkey wings or necks, and ham hocks. I am a new fan to the channel. Thank you both for providing detail cooking instructions and family stories that fill our souls. 😃
Hello Ladies,I subscribed to this channel, because you always put Christ first..2 Corinthians 4:18..Only what you do for Christ will last..Amen!🙏🏼❤️🙋🏽♀️🌹🌹🙌🏽
Growing up me and my sisters stayed up all night with my mom cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas. She always had me cleaning greens or chopping vegetables. It became tradition. She enjoys cooking and feeding people. One of the best cooks I know. ❤
Waiting to hear the good news..... love me some greens; all kinds; we grew up putting "skins" in our greens and beans; also, salt pork, ham hocks, smoked pig tails.... etc. YUM!
I found your UA-cam channel a few weeks ago and I am so excited I did. Lots of great recipes! But more importantly, you two ladies are such a breath of fresh air. You are so joyful and sweet and just absolutely the loveliest women on UA-cam. Please keep these videos coming. I so look forward to your videos ❤️
I made collard greens/kale last night. I had made them a very long time ago and they were bitter so hadn’t tried again. But I used your tips and oh my, that made all the difference in the world. Thank you. I just love you all and your positive attitude, the love of Christ shines from your faces.
Our house has two kitchens so I was always watching cooks work. My Grandma did greens the most so she never said what types went together best. I'm glad you said something. I Love your videos it's like having my Mom, Dad, and Grandma back with me as I cook.
Turkey necks are my favorite! Low on oil, grease and the favor is so good. I can eat the whole pot. My hubby loves them and keeps your system clean. I don’t eat can foods.
I cut my greens like you do. I also add kale if I have it. I haven't done the baking soda so I'm going to try that next. I use onions and garlic. Bacon or hog jowl...one of my fav dishes+
I use the I use chicken broth I also incorporate Bacon Fat after I fry my bacon then I cook it with that grease oh my gosh the flavor it is out of sight it is really good and then I put my other seasonings in there very good when I don't want to use the ham hocks or the turkey wings
My two favorite video sisters! You two look so pretty with your beautiful colors. Don’t worry about your glasses, you look pretty with or without them. I’m praying for you and everyone that storm is headed for, God got you . BTW, I have never had kale so I guess I’m going to have to try it. God bless you and your families ❤
Isabellae that would be called good eating they would put that old rank meat in them, collard greens and it will make you wanna eat your fingers off my❤❤
I make mine with smoked meat. My mom always uses smoked neckbones and hamhocks. My dads mom will not eat pork, so she makes hers with smoked turkey. I like fresh garden greens, mustard, turnip, and collards mixed. Never had the kale. But I am sure it is good as well.
I love you all soooo much. I was having a bad day at work and couldn't wait to get my break so I could pray with you all. I call it 'my fellowship' and I'm going to try this recipe also ❤️❤️❤️. It's all love from Memphis TN
I'm fairly new to your channel. I have been watching now for about 2 months. Ooooo my that looks so delicious. Love me some greens. I was born and raised in Ohio and live here today in the house I grew up in after Mama and Daddy passed. You cook like my Mama. I was raised on good cookin and love to cook myself. I love that you all know Jesus and believe in prayer. You are now one of my favorite UA-camrs. Do you have a cookbook?
Awww thank you so much. I appreciate you for watching this channel. This means the world to me. I know we miss our parents. My mother was a great cook. Also, I miss her so much. I miss her cooking. I miss her laughter. She was a beautiful person inside and out love you with the love of God, the cookbook is coming out soon. My daughter and I are working on it and I will let you know as soon as it do thank you so much, Daisy.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hope everyone is doing well. Years ago my sister needed to make collard greens for a very large group. She was very young and didnt want to take time for all the cleaning. Her idea, she cleaned out her washing machine then washed her greens in the machine!! The cleanest greens ever LOL
I love greens!! I make them with ham hock and jalapeno! But I will try smoked turkey wing! I use fresh but I have to wash so many times!! But I love greens!!! And ladies I love your new styles!!!
Amen! Just look at God! You are both a breath of fresh air! May God continue to bless you both and your families. Lord, keep your protection and love around this beautiful channel. Blessing be upon you both of you God fearing women. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
My mama used part the stem because after the greens were cooked she wanted to use what they called pot liquor ( the green juice) because she said it was good for colds.
Oh, and thank you I love the stem but maybe the more tender part of the stem if you chop it up on the fine side, it’s just Txt Only in my opinion a good addition to some greens :) Thank you ladies to each their own
My mama would never let me cook with her either. She took pride in her cooking. When me and my sisters grew up, we tried telling my mom to rest and let us cook for her, but she still had to make a side pie or something. Cooking seemed to mean everything to my mom. You would never hear her say (like you hear today) I don't feel like cooking today, cooking seemed to be part of who she was. Have a wonderful evening ❤🙏
Virginia our mother sure did take pride in their kitchen and they are cooking. We just don’t see that anymore. I could stand there and watch, but I couldn’t never help and I wanted to help so bad.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love me some collard greens with some hot water corn bread thank you Lord love you're hair styles so beautiful you're greens look so good yummy be blessed Woman ❤of God
My 88 yr old mother doesn’t like smoke meats she still cooks, she makes broth by simmering salt pork in water in the crock pot for a couple of hours she discards the meat and uses the stock for her veggies. She puts the extra stock in food saver bags and freezes it for when she needs it. She has done this for years. Makes the best turnips n roots!
I like to mix Collards, Kale, Turnip, and Mustard Greens cooked down with Country Ham Hocks. I cheat by putting them in my washer on the rinse cycle with a heavy spin which tears away the thick stems. Hav8ng a Farm to work I always made a Huge Mess of Greens to eat off of all week. Sometimes I would add potatoes to help give me energy.
Well well well... we are on the same wave length Lol. Went to HEB a big store in Texas cities like Kroger. They have a 3 green mixture and it has collard, turnip and kale mix. I add ham hocks and green onions ,celery and cook and cornbread on the side . Cant wait. A great show today. Tell everyone hello....Patty and Mike from Texas P.S. the positive challenge almost over I did ok. 💜💜💜💜
@@mamaTspeaks I did the challenge it was not perfect but I was aware of how many times I say negative things. I would say alot I hurt so bad and political things I would see on tv I could name more. ❤Love love love them Collard Turnips and mustard greens. Oh I just wanted to say, your face is a little red glow but that's just the blood of Jesus shining through. That's just the Holy Ghost coming through. The bible saids it's like fire shut up on my bones. So yes. That's why you have that beautiful glow on your face. Sister Pam also has that glow about her. I'm fixing to plant me a garden with turnip greens in it. I love the turnip roots cooked over in my greens. Hmmmm -hmmm❤❤❤❤❤❤ I love and appreciate you and Sister Pam so much. Y'all make my day!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’m met a lady at a repass after a funeral and she made this broccoli cornbread and she told me that her great great grandmother used this recipe and it was passed down❤❤❤❤❤
I know I messed up when I cooked collar greens and a big pan of macaroni and cheese, cornbread dressing, candied yams, as some side dishes after a weekend of shut in fasting and praying I thought it would be great to break bread together YESSS what a glorious time did we have now guess what everybody wants to act like they can't cook and always calling on me.I had to tell first lady look there is no more greens in that pot, nothing but pot liquor can I please wash this pot. Lol 😅😊

I love ❤️ smoked turkey tails 😋 they are a great alternative to replace hamhocks.
I learned how to cook watching my grandmother
I was taught to inspect every green for dirt or bugs and then wash them before I cut them up. It took a long time.
Did I hear cookbook, Yesssss thank Lord. Please put me down for a couple of copies

The finished picture of the greens looks great but your missing the corn bread.🥰👋🏿
I know I made some hot water cornbread for it. I didn’t do it on Camera, but I will the next time.
Amen! In the Name of Jesus Christ, We Pray, Amen!
What’s this broccoli cornbread you guys are speaking of? Can u do a video on that and explain where it originated from❤️🙏🏽
Please do. 😊
Lol 😅😊
