Omg Lisa, I’m going through this!!! I’m 47 and have lupus, this past year the lupus is straight up out of control. I paused your video and made an appointment with my gynecologist. And I also have suddenly become allergic to everything! Like full on throat closing, swollen lips and rashes! Thank you for bringing this issue to light. God bless you and everyone.
Yeah lisa , my life was turned upside down, so many symptoms and I truly suffered for 5 long years till I found bio identical hormones they changed my life . I have been on them for 5 year now and lift heavy weights for 5 years also . It’s amazing how I went from suffering to happy and full of energy . I’m 51 and feel amazing !! I remember telling you to look into the bio identical hormones many videos back , glad you did !!
I began “surgical menopause” at age 25. I was having a baby and during labor and delivery everything went wrong. Baby boy and I both lived through it but I was given a complete hysterectomy. I can hardly recall a time where I wasn’t on Premarin. Finally, in my 50’s I found a wonderful female doctor who has me at optimal hormones and my thyroid as well. It’s been a long battle, but I am much better now.
Thank you so much! I have the best gynecologist she did exactly what the doctor you went to see did and my life dramatically changed! I struggled for 3 years with menopause and literally couldn’t live! Now I am back to myself but better and feel great! Thank you for being brave to bring this up!! ❤️❤️
Thank you Lisa, this is very informative. I am 65 years old and I wish I knew this 30 years ago ! It would’ve saved me so much suffering. Not only with PMS, but infertility, chronic pain, I underwent a rotator cuff repair for my shoulder at age 42, migraines, etc etc. And I can see now , probably 90% of all of that was due to an imbalance of hormones. I still have some health issues but my chronic pain is gone , I started Emgality, two years ago and I have not had one migraine( talk to your doctor as it’s changed my life),. So, being postmenopausal is a good thing for me. I am feeling better than ever. But I can see there’s a few things I need to fine tune. I start Medicare in February! I am going to go see a integrative medicine doctor and get all my hormonal levels checked. I know my doctors have done that in the past but when it’s a general lab test, the margin is huge, and I’ve heard you need a doctor that makes that range a little bit smaller….. to see exactly what your hormones for YOU are you doing. It’s cracking me up because I’m dictating part of this and when I say, hormones, it puts horror moans!!! ha ha ha That’s what it felt like many times in my life . Be proactive . Ask questions. If your gut tells you the doctor is blowing you off…. And you get the answer” there’s really nothing I can do for you,” , do your research and see another medical professional! And a specialist that can balance hormones🤩🙏👍
Thank you for sharing this video Lisa. I knew I wasn't alone on this obnoxious journey. I hate that Drs are not very well educated and they just treat perimenopause and menopause without anycare. This is so important in our lives as women.
I’m so glad you did this video Lisa! You are right on about this!!! I’ve been on these hrt since 53 and feel so good and healthy. I will send this video to my girlfriend since they won’t listen to me!
I had a total hysterectomy in 2022. Went into instant menopause. I had to fight for 6 months to get HRT. 3 women Dr’s told me no because I was 55 at the time. And I was in a new marriage! Finally one listened. I’m 57 now and everything returned to normal. I do have to be closely monitored for breast cancer as I am high risk. But I couldn’t live the way I was. However they refuse to give me progesterone or testosterone. I get estrogen patch only. I wish I could get bio identical HRT but insurance does not cover it. Thanks for this conversation ❤
It’s strange I’ve had no menopause, no issues whatsoever thankfully, but my period did stop, had my last period when I was 60yrs. Thankfully my skin stayed the same too, I mean I look after it, and tone it a lot with a sculpter and organic Argan oil or rosehip oil , I use that a lot and on my body , but I don’t take anything, only supplements.
Good to hear I thought it was the only one who didn’t have menopause problems. however For energy when I was in my 50s I thought I would try HRT for a little more energy and it was very toxic to my body I could not breathe the second day I was on it. And that was it for me no more a charity.
Wonderful video Lisa! I’m 52 and had my last period at 49. Hot flashes, hair changes, painful sex etc. Like yourself I had frozen shoulder! Omg it took a year for that to unfreeze. My mom died of breast cancer when she was 49. ALL Dr’s tell me no to HRT. It’s very frustrating! I have found some natural remedies but nothing like the help of HRT I’m sure. You look beautiful, so happy one of us can take it lol! Hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving! Love these topics!
One of your best videos. Worth saving! Sadly, in Canada, we have very little agency in our healthcare. I love resources like Marie-Claire and Menopause Barbie, but finding a local specialist is impossible. I was lucky that my GP readily prescribed HRT, but I have no idea if it's working. :(
@@Beauty101byLisa Btw, since you no longer have a uterine lining, do you have to take progesterone, seeing that progesterone in HRT is only to prevent cancer of the lining?
I’m so glad I watched this video. I’m 43, slowly creeping up on 44. My shoulder on my left size KILLS ME, when that time of the month rolls around. I get all sorts of aches and pains I had no idea even existed and I know it all Has to do with hormones.
@@Beauty101byLisa thank you. I’ve been subbed to you for years. You look absolutely beautiful for your age. Thanks for sharing this info with women because it’s such a taboo topic most women don’t feel comfortable talking about it
I was prescribed HRT, but I have a progesterone intolerance so I had to stop taking it because it was actually making me feel worse. I'm glad you are finding relief.
When I first started HRT i was put on Medoxyprogesterone and that was the worst! I'm on micronized progesterone now and it's so much better. Hope this helps. :)
I have been on HRT bioidentical hormones for several years. And doing well on them But I wanted to tell you. I was taking the hair vitamins you were taking and then when I started Retin A all of my hair feel out. After freaking out I had blood work done and it turned out to be vitamin A toxicity. That hair vitamin has 900 msg of A alone. I took a multi vitamin at the time that had 700 mgs And I was taking a vitamin A for my skin. All was fine until I added retin A. So I just want to warn other women to be careful of vitamin overload.
Oh wow!! Yes i am constantly checking all my bloodwork levels. We should only take supplements if our levels are low. I’m so very glad you figured it out 🙌💖
I think this happened to me. I started retin a last year for the benefits and after a few months i noticed excessive shedding. The only thing I had changed was the retin a. I did a research and found it could cause hair loss. i immediately stopped applying it and after a few more months my hair started shedding at a normal rate. Scary times.
Lisa, I remember when you started this journey. You were frustrated and confused as to what was happening to your body. I remember sharing with you how and why I turned to HRT and compounding hormones I also urged you to do your own research and to make your decision. I am so happy you are doing well and that you put out this video. I am sure it will help many ❤
Thank you for sharing. It is so important women learn all this. I found it all out on my own and at 57 figures out HrT is the way to go for me However I wish I had learned this earlier. Learning this from anyone is so helpful, as my doctor was no help at all. I pay cash for my doc now and do it MY WAY
Frozen shoulder! I’ve heard menopause doctors mention it in videos. I didn’t have that but I had so many awful symptoms. Finally watched menopause Taylor on YT and decided to go on HRT. A complete night and day difference! I’m back to my old self. We all need to tell the younger generation about what’s to come for them.
Thank you beautiful Lisa for this information ,I am 55 years old and I have scoliosis and H pylori so much pain everywhere in my body is part of menopause , we have to take care our self as much as we can God bless you Lisa and every woman we are suffering with menopause.
Been post menopausal for over 28 years. Have been on all forms of HRT. It is very individual. I would caution anyone who is on a constant supply of progesterone, to make sure they are having all hormones tested. If your doctor is not testing Estradiol, FSH, free and total testosterone, progesterone, and DHEA, issues will occur. DHEA and progesterone tend to build up at a higher level than estradiol and testosterone. High levels of progesterone all month long is not normal, and can be toxic. HRT is needed for so much more than libido, and energy. Lack of HRT is being linked to the higher than normal percentage of dementia in females, and bone loss. Good luck Lisa on your journey, just make sure to have blood work done at least every 4 months. I too have Hashimoto's, so it's a double whammy.
Thank you so much for sharing. In doing my research I understand everything you are saying here and my doctor is amazing keeping up on all of my bloodwork.❤❤❤
I don’t believe she does. I need to travel out of state to see her in person at least once a year to continue getting my prescriptions. Keep searching you will find the right doctor to help you❤
I am 55 and started HRT the beginning of this year. I had been on birth control pills for 30 years. I had no idea if I was in menopause, pre menopause or post menopause. I had absolutely no symptoms at all (no weight gain, hot flashes, skin changes, body aches, etc.) because of the hormones in the BC pills. I transitioned from BC pills to HRT (oral) with no problems whatsoever. I am grateful that it has been so easy. It is true what they say-if you are on BC pills while in menopause, you just breeze through it.... I also have been lifting weights for decades- you are right about lifting weights. I was also able to avoid the dreaded abdominal weight gain. I am lucky to have a gyno who had no problem prescribing HRT. In fact, because of my age, he's the one who suggested it, but he put it off for 2 years, at my request, because I wanted to stay on BC pills forever (LOL) He put it off because I don't have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, am a non- smoker, exercise regularly & am healthy. Mary Clare Haver is extremely knowledgeable & so is Heather Hirsch.
I started taking dhea and boron I'm peri and it's helped so much along with going on a high fat carnivore diet. I've lost lots of weight and gained muscle.
I am so happy you found the right combo for your symptoms! I have been on estrogen and progesterone since I turned 50 and I’m almost 52 now. I definitely need testosterone added to my cocktail; however, it’s not covered by insurance for women to use. Men, of course, are covered. 😑 I’m waiting for the FDA to get it approved so that it will be just as affordable as my other hormones. I am hoping, because of wonderful providers like Dr. Haver, it won’t be a long wait!! 🙏🏻 Thanks for sharing your journey…the more we share, the more knowledge and light is shone on this extremely important subject!! ❤
Yes absolutely! It is ridiculous about insurance not covering testosterone for women. Symptoms of low testosterone in women include: 👉Vaginal pain and atrophy. No sex drive. 👉Energy: Fatigue, low energy levels, insomnia 👉Musculoskeletal: Muscle weakness, loss of muscle tone, bone density loss 👉Mental: Depression, anxiety, irritability, difficulty concentrating, memory loss 👉Skin and hair: thinning hair, hot flashes, night sweats, dry skin 👉Other: Weight gain, joint pains, urinary complaints including incontinence
I'm 55 and on Estrogen and Progesterone. Cant the Dr. prescribe the men's version of testosterone and we take just a small amount? The compounded T is expensive. I looked at Good RX and it's not too pricey. for the male T. Just a thought. I'm going to talk to my dr about testosterone this week.
Nobody, and I mean NOBODY wanted to help me. As a result, I took a fall and the two bones in my lower leg and my ankle just EXPLODED. Rebuilding it took literally 3 surgeries and 4 and a half months completely off of my leg. I had a Frozen Shoulder. If it seems I don’t want to talk about menopause, it’s because I DON’T. It was the lowest point in my life. I hope and pray every woman who needs help finds it.
I’m aged 54 and hopefully after this month I will be post menopause, it’s taken 10 years and it’s been the most horrendous time with me having two D & C’s in one year due to prolonged and uncontrollable bleeding. Unfortunately my health insurance doesn’t cover HRT and I don’t earn enough each month to pay for it as it’s so expensive. Things have settled down considerably since my late forties but my heart goes out to any woman who is struggling, my advice is be kind to yourself and get as much rest as you can.
YES! Functional medicine professionals is the (sadly) only way to go. My OB only took care of my annual swab (Pap) and nothing else. I really never felt compelled to even ask questions because the visit was so dismissive. "Do you have any question?" with the hurry up I'm too busy attitude... uhg! My hormones (progesterone and estrogen) are compounded; my thyroid med is name-brand. I will suggest you go over to Chalene Johnson's page too. She too is determine to put as much information for us out there regarding peri/post menopause.
I was so very fortunate not to experience any menopausal systems Now 72 and if I'm not mistaken my mom didn't suffer either I hope my 2 40+ daughters will be as fortunate With all the positive information out there the ladies today will be much better informed Very informative video Lisa Thank you beautiful lady
That's so wonderful. Unfortunately our brain, bones and heart is still affected as we lose estrogen even if we have no symptoms. This should be common knowledge but most doctors have no education in this area. I'm so grateful for the menopause specialists today that are helping us understand the facts. ❤
@@Beauty101byLisahi Lisa, I know of the OBGYN you speak of. I subscribed a long time ago. She so informative. So I made the decision to do HRT. After reading your comment I'm once again wondering why my hormone NP won't give me estrogen¿ she said you don't get hot flashes or night sweats, what¿ So I'm on testosterone & Progesterone. Testosterone has worked but now is not. I don't feel great & its been over 6 months. I think I'm gonna go to another functional doctor for a second opinion. I feel like I need the estrogen too. Menopause Taylor is someone else I follow. She said I should absolutely be getting estrogen. It's just so expensive & to not get the results I need is exhausting. I need to save so I can see the other NP & get a second opinion. I love all your topics & your empathy for people is beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your journey.❤
Hi Lisa, I've been watching Mary Claire as well as all the menopause dr's on you tube for years now. They are all so informative and they all make me want to go back to taking my HRT, but you , as a blood clotter need to read the pamphlet that comes with your patch. It lists all the side effects of using the product. Blood clots, heart attack, stroke, cancer etc are listed. Its just the opposite of what the dr's are saying. I don't understand why its conflicting information. Also another thing I've learned from my gyno, is that those HRT creams from a compounding pharmacy are not FDA approved .They are not consistent. I also have been researching for a long time. It's just something else for you to think about and consider. 🌸
HRT is a very didficult topic. Here in the Netherlands it is not easy to get because doctors say that it isn’t safe enough for everyone. We also need to be aware that the pharmaceutical industry have commercial interests and will not always provide selflessly advice. Follow the money and you will be surprised who advises what.
I agree, here in the Netherlands they don t want to test your hormones, because they fluctuate? At least that is what my doctor is saying....horrible advice here and no help whatsoever...
I will absolutely watch Mary Claire Haver. My HRT and Hashimoto’s med are all from a compounding pharmacy, I have a wonderful female doctor who tests me and really cares. WHY AREN’T YOU TALKING ABOUT YOUR WEDDING AND NEW MARRIAGE?❤️❤️
Your video is so helpful. I feel like I’m losing my mind and body. I’ve had night sweats for years starting in 30s, but was told hormones were normal. Fast forward to 40s and my normal period was all over the place. Fast forward to 50 and I feel like I’m deteriorating at a rapid pace. The insomnia is debilitating. I get sometimes 3 weeks without sleep. Constant headaches. I’ve been a vegetarian since age 6, workout consistently and have gained 20 pounds out of nowhere. My breasts won’t stop growing. I now developed deep depression that does not feel like the normal blues, but a no energy, no care, whatever , hopelessness feeling I’ve never had. My working out that I love is now hard with less energy, my legs feel heavy and weak, my bones hurt. Ughhh like the one thing I love to do is work out and now I’m not enjoying that anymore. You’re right, the drs don’t care. It’s a one size fits all fix. I’m not ion anything, because I wanted to find an expert that took insurance. Why isn’t this readily available to us?? If we didn’t research we would not know. I definitely don’t and can’t live the remainder of my life like this. Any and all information is helpful! This is not living 😩
Hang in there!! I felt the same way and I’m so very sorry you’re suffering💕 I kept telling the doctors “I feel dead inside.” Of course they were quick to offer antidepressants but I knew that wouldn’t treat the root of the problem! Go on GOOGLE and search 👉Integrative medicine doctor near me. Insurance covers it!! Also here is a website to search menopause specialists near you. Sending so much love, strength and healing❤❤❤ 👉 portal.menopause.org/NAMS/NAMS/Directory/Menopause-Practitioner.asp
Off topic BUT personally I think you look so much more naturally beautiful without the lash extensions. I went through menopause in my early 40’s right after I was diagnosed with Thyroid Disease and it was removed. It was like a light switch, no symptoms, no mood swings, no hot flashes and no period ever again.
I live in Connecticut too and I had to argue with my OBGYN to get HRT - she says to me, “are you sure you don’t want to go a more natural route “ I said, no, I want HRT - I suffered 3 years with hot flashes and thrashing around in the bed at night not getting a good night’s sleep and I wanted the HRT for my bones and all the benefits, my OBgyn argued with me that it doesn’t help bones- I really want a different doctor- I got my HRT and feel like myself again, she never tested hormones
Yes menopause is just not routinely taught in medical school. Thank you for sharing. I’m so very glad you found someone to help you and you’re feeling better❤
I’ve been following Dr. Marie Claire and she is awesome. I’ve been on pellets bhrt for one year and it has helped me incredibly. I have arthritis and had a mayor improvement in joint pain. Night sweats were gone. Energy levels high… then I get a mammogram on my dense breasts. It comes back inconclusive for the first time in my life. I get a more profound test and they found a small irregular mass that could be malignant. I’m getting a biopsy soon this December 2024. Now my question is: did I do this to myself by getting bhrt? I am afraid and don’t know what to do. My doctor specializes in bhrt. He did a full panel on my hormones before giving me the pellets therapy. And he always tells me bhrt won’t cause cancer. But he won’t give me the pellets until I get my yearly mammogram results. And I did. But what is the connection? Why does he wait for my results before continuing my therapy. I need to know. Thank you for this video Lisa. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just turned 52.
That is a really tough question. I don’t know if you will ever know the answer 100%. Praying you will be fine and can continue bhrt🙏 Sending so much love and healing❤
Im 55 years old. I started menopause at the age of 38.. and that was also when i no longer had a period.. my doctor said it was premature menopause. what is crazy is that every thing stayed the same for me.. no hot flashes no gain of weight no bones hurting no loss of hair no moods nothing.. im 55 years and feel great, but my friends that are in menopause are a mess.. I hear some crazy stories about how they feel awful and some of them blew up like balloons.
It’s so wild that the older generation does not want to hear anything about menopause!! I’m 45 & struggling I bring it up & they look at me like STFU! 🤫
Yes, that's because our parents were the generation that were misinformed and told you will get cancer if you take HRT. Also, once you pass a certain age you are out of the window to start HRT. The sooner the better if that's what's right for you ❤
See I didn’t know about HRT and when I mentioned to my doctor she said well it’s too late and I was about 6 years into it… it’s sad that they are not informed as they should be and we are the ones who suffer
You are so right. When I was in my early 50’s going through hot flashes, I asked a friend my age if she was going through the same and her response left me in shock. She said “What is that? I’m in my 60’s now and women my age do not want to accept this phase. Just wanted to share.
This is me. I am 45 and started getting hot flashes and night sweats for about 7 months now. I don’t know where to go to get reliable information. So I appreciate this video
Thank you! I had to stop taking them because i developed an allergy. This is what i use now. The LIA ORGANICS❤ www.amazon.com/shop/beauty101bylisa/list/33T3JNUNPYCU7?ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_aipsflist_EC1VPBP3XNNEBJTTS318&language=en_US
I find it comical that the medical profession with not think twice about giving hormones to children but a grown woman has to jump through hoops to get it, makes you wonder.
I’ve been also doing a deep dive into HRT and even though my OB/GYN is a certified menopause practitioner she told me no I’m not a good candidate for only because of my age. I am 63 and I am eight years post menopause. She told me the risks that way the benefits.. I told her I want the health benefits, strong, heart brain that bones my menopause transition was fairly easy. The only real complaint is my sleep is awful and I have low libido. She still told me no she wouldn’t give it to me, but she would test my testosterone level to see if that was low went for the bloodwork and it was low And she told me no again because I have high cholesterol. I’m thinking I need a new doctor.
Yes 100% get a second opinion. Also you can reach out to online specialists to hear their opinions. Then make your own decision based on the collective information. Research research research and trust your intuition. Here’s Dr. Mary Claire’s Instagram❤ instagram.com/drmaryclaire/profilecard/?igsh=MXR0OTJzaXV2OHRsbQ==
HRT has been a lifesaver for me for sure. I was in full menopause at 51,52. I will be 59 in January and now being postmenopausal have had to tweek some things. As far as estrogen and progesterone at some point your levels will be zero because you just don't make it at all. I take estrogen, progesterone (I still have a uterus) and testosterone cream. The testosterone levels are the ones that need to be checked the most. I'm a RN and lucky enough to have a MD that is nationally menopause certified. The bad part about testosterone is that it isn't FDA approved for women so that is why insurance will not pay for it. I have compounded testosterone cream and it's $166 for about 50 ml. So ridiculous since women make it before menopause and it's needed. Don't me started about the FDA😆. I say all that to say we don't have to suffer as women and best to everyone riding this train.
Menopause does not go away it lasts for the rest of your life. It's not like puberty. Symptoms for some may get milder or go away but you take menopause to your death ....
I loved my few years on HRT, until I got estrogen receptive breast cancer - it's the most common type. The estrogen doesnt cause cancer, but feeds and fuels the cancer cells causing them to grow into a tumor. Then after mastectomy, (and maybe chemo and radiation) and reconstruction, they put you on estrogen blockers. No fun at all - full on menopause symptoms, and worse. I would advise to proceed with caution. Ask any oncologist what they think about HRT. Lots of ladies on YT here can attest to this.
Same thing happened to me! Normal mammograms dense breast on HRT 50-56 I found a lump at 56 estrogen progesterone breast cancer. Yes proceed with caution! Dense breast get ultrasound. No family history !
@@debbiegiangrandi4672 sooo many praising HRT - of course we love it! But no one talks about the big risks. One simple google will tell you all you need to know. Hope you're doing OK now.
@ are you kidding? What are statistically small risks as compared to potential benefits of HRT have completely quelled the use of them for nearly 25 years. Because women have been scared based on misinformation.
I'm 56 and facing a total hysterectomy because of 14 fibroids in my uterus. In hindsight , I wish I had the procedure you had. I was informed about the procedure you had but didn't because I had no symptoms , they were small and was told they will shrink after menopause. Had a MRI and the biggest ones are 7cm and the rest are of varying sizes. I've got over the worst of menopause symptoms ( those dreaded hot flushes were the worst) now I might go through it for a second time because of the hysterectomy I am facing. I don't know what to do
Lisa I am currently in the estrogen patch and IUD for progesterone. I want to add testosterone so I just want to ask you if you do the compound cream along with the patch or the compound it’s your only HRT. You look great as usual and thank you for sharing your experience with us ❤
Thank you! I only use one cream with estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and DHEA. It took months to find the right cocktail, and I started out with some creams separately. Once I found the sweet spot, we combined all the creams into one.. this may need to change in the future, but for now it’s working wonderfully❤
It’s different for everyone. In my case I was having vaginal atrophy where it literally shrinks and thins out inside. Then during sex I would actually tear and it was so painful. I also had no libido or desire for sex. After starting the HRT cream based on my bloodwork levels (estrogen, progesterone and testosterone replacement ) everything went back to before menopause. My vagina plumped back up, gets wet when aroused and I desire sex and have great orgasms. This is so unspoken but so important for men and women to understand 🙌❤️
Lisa did your discharge and libido come back with HRT. Because a lot of women say they lose the ability to orgasm and sex drive when they are post menopausal
I was having full blown vaginal atrophy. It was literally shrinking and thinning out so intercourse would tear my vagina and it was so painful! I was celibate for over 10 months in between relationships and thought I would never be able to have sex again!! After starting HRT everything went back to before menopause. I don’t have the monthly ovulation discharge, however I get wet when aroused and the thickness and elasticity is back. Orgasms are great too. 🎉 The testosterone is just as important as estrogen and progesterone 🙌❤️😃🙏
Hi I'm 52yrs and my period stop at 45 for me 2018. And I haven't notice anything at all. The only thing I see me doing now is crying for no reason and maybe if I think of me getting older I just start crying. I haven't got fat or skinny yes I kinda drop from medium to small and some clothes xs which is fine to me. I'm 124lbs. But I'm ok but nothing else I noticed on me
Is it cold there Lisa? it is here, 35 minutes from Canada. but its Michigan. im finally getting my money here after 4 in a half months, my bank screwed up! i finally got over my hot flashes ! thank God. i su re hope and pray that you are finally feeling better. your too young to have all these health problems. and beautiful too. your still very sexy in spite of your health problems. you take care Lisa , lov ya
Lisa, if you hadn’t been a candidate for traditional HRT would you have tried bio identical ? Did you happen to find any legit info on BHRT in your extensive research? It’s overwhelming when trying to figure out who to trust.
Oh no sorry that happened. I’m feeling the dose was not right for you. The goal is to get levels balanced and close to where your body has always thrived with those hormones naturally❤
That’s what I’ve heard. If I was out of that window and desperate for treatment i would get multiple opinions from menopause specialists. If you’re on Instagram you could try direct messaging Dr. Mary Claire❤ instagram.com/drmaryclaire/profilecard/?igsh=MXR0OTJzaXV2OHRsbQ==
MY LABS SHOW THAT I NEED THYROID MEDICINE BUT MY TEMPERATURE DOES NOT GO ABOVE 97.5 NO MATTER HOW MUCH THYROID I TAKE. I DON'T FEEL WELL AT ALL THE FIRST HALF OF THE DAY. IT'S BEEN A NIGHTMARE TO GO THROUGH. I'VE EVEN TRIED DIFFERENT TYPES OF THYROID MEDICINE WITH NO LUCK. MY ELDERLY MOTHER CAN'T GET HER DOSE RIGHT EITHER.
Hang in there!! I would say to definitely get a second opinion. You deserve to feel your best and have a healthcare provider that doesn’t give up until you feel better.❤
I wish i could find a doctor around Jacksonville florida, I am willing to drive like 3 hours. I google doctors and i ma scared to pick the wrong one. Hoping to get a referral to a good one through these comments:-)
I would start by doing your own current research and binge watch menopause specialists who devote their lives to helping and educating us. Take notes and know what you want before you even talk to a doctor. Then you are confident and knowledgeable when talking to any doctor. You will know right away if that doctor is not for you❤ Here is a list of menopause doctors and you can search in your area: portal.menopause.org/NAMS/NAMS/Directory/Menopause-Practitioner.aspx
Ladies just careful with hormone replacement stuff, a relative of mine self administered hormones and the cells in the cervix turned into cancer and found out late in the stage. 😢
I think that it's rather insane that the majority of Ob Gyn's don't help women with Menopausal issues. Like, NEWSFLASH this is not some strange new malady! Good grief 🙄
Without a doubt I do believe in 'u are what u eat'! Work on my physical and mental health daily and don't take a day for granted Your health is your wealth!
Lisa….thank you so much for this video! It was very helpful. I was referred to my friend’s Naturopathic Doctor since I was originally diagnosed with Grave’s Disease. The doctor ended up recommending my medication also be made at Compounding Pharmacy which dramatically changed things for me during my menopause. Now my thyroid is closer to being hypothyroid and my numbers have dropped dramatically. She says I’m post menopause now which is a great feeling too! It was good for me to hear your story….💜🩷❤️

Carnivore, lifting heavy weights, and bioidentical hormones changed my life! I can now build muscle again, and no more bloating.❤
Dr Haver's newest book is a must have and has the most information in one place that I have had. She's great
Yeah lisa , my life was turned upside down, so many symptoms and I truly suffered for 5 long years till I found bio identical hormones they changed my life . I have been on them for 5 year now and lift heavy weights for 5 years also . It’s amazing how I went from suffering to happy and full of energy . I’m 51 and feel amazing !! I remember telling you to look into the bio identical hormones many videos back , glad you did !!
I’m so glad you are feeling amazing!! Thank you for sharing❤
Thank you for this! I’m only 32, but it’s always good to be informed! My mother doesn’t really talk about and she’s been out of it for about 5 years.
You are so welcome! Perimenopause starts in our 30’s. It’s so good you’re on top of it early. Keep doing your research and you will do great 🥰❤️
I began “surgical menopause” at age 25.
I’m so very glad you and your son survived❤ Wonderful you finally got things balanced and found a doctor to help you🙌
Super instructive Lisa! I had started to watch Marie-Claire. Yes she's a full course load of great advices. Thank you!
You are very welcome ❤
Thank you so much! I have the best gynecologist she did exactly what the doctor you went to see did and my life dramatically changed! I struggled for 3 years with menopause and literally couldn’t live! Now I am back to myself but better and feel great!
Thank you for being brave to bring this up!! ❤️❤️
That is so wonderful. I’m so glad you are doing well and found a doctor you can trust.❤
It’s cracking me up because I’m dictating part of this and when I say, hormones, it puts horror moans!!! ha ha ha
That’s what it felt like many times in my life .
You are so welcome! We need to keep talking about it to help eachother❤
I’m so glad you did this video Lisa!
You are right on about this!!!
I’ve been on these hrt since 53 and feel so good and healthy.
I will send this video to my girlfriend since they won’t listen to me!
I’m so glad you’re feeling better❤ I understand the frustration. We just have to respect what others feel is right for them. 🥰💖
That's wonderful 💖
MashaAllah I hope am the same
Good to hear I thought it was the only one who didn’t have menopause problems. however For energy when I was in my 50s I thought I would try HRT for a little more energy and it was very toxic to my body I could not breathe the second day I was on it. And that was it for me no more a charity.
I’m 7 7 1/2 now and I have never taken anything else for hormones. I’ve always eaten well and taken care of my body. Good luck with your choices dear
@@conniemurphyover70stillgla47 I increased my protein and my energy improved greatly!!
I’m so very sorry for your loss❤ So glad you’re having some relief🙏
One of your best videos. Worth saving!
Sadly, in Canada, we have very little agency in our healthcare. I love resources like Marie-Claire and Menopause Barbie, but finding a local specialist is impossible. I was lucky that my GP readily prescribed HRT, but I have no idea if it's working. :(
I’m so very glad you found someone to help you. Maybe ask if they will test your estrogen, progesterone and testosterone levels.❤
I get all sorts of aches and pains I had no idea even existed and I know it all
Has to do with hormones.
Yes. Just stay informed and do your research so you can make the decision best for you❤
@@Beauty101byLisa thank you.
Oh wow! Just goes to show how different we all are. I wonder if it was the dose or type of progesterone you were taking? ❤
When I first started HRT i was put on Medoxyprogesterone and that was the worst! I'm on micronized progesterone now and it's so much better. Hope this helps. :)
@ thank you!
I'm on estrogen, progesterone and testosterone but going carnivore has also helped tremendously. No joint pain and more energy.
That’s wonderful ❤
I am sure it will help many ❤
Thank you so much! I appreciate your advice and we all need to continue helping and supporting each other whatever decision we feel is best for us❤❤❤
Thank you for putting this up!!! I had asked at another video and you read my comment❤️
You are so welcome!❤
Thank you for sharing. It is so important women learn all this. I found it all out on my own and at 57 figures out HrT is the way to go for me
However I wish I had learned this earlier. Learning this from anyone is so helpful, as my doctor was no help at all. I pay cash for my doc now and do it MY WAY
Yes absolutely! I’m so glad you found a doctor to help you❤
Frozen shoulder!
I’m so very glad you are feeling better🙌 Thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you beautiful Lisa for this information ,I am 55 years old and I have scoliosis and H pylori so much pain everywhere in my body is part of menopause , we have to take care our self as much as we can God bless you Lisa and every woman we are suffering with menopause.
Sending so much love and healing💖💖💖
That was a lot of help. Thank you! I wonder if your doctor would do telehealth? 🤔
That is so wonderful!! Thank you for sharing💕
I started taking dhea and boron I'm peri and it's helped so much along with going on a high fat carnivore diet. I've lost lots of weight and gained muscle.
That’s wonderful!! Thank you for sharing❤
I am so happy you found the right combo for your symptoms! I have been on estrogen and progesterone since I turned 50 and I’m almost 52 now.
I definitely need testosterone added to my cocktail; however, it’s not covered by insurance for women to use. Men, of course, are covered. 😑
I’m waiting for the FDA to get it approved so that it will be just as affordable as my other hormones. I am hoping, because of wonderful providers like Dr. Haver, it won’t be a long wait!! 🙏🏻
Thanks for sharing your journey…the more we share, the more knowledge and light is shone on this extremely important subject!! ❤
Yes absolutely! It is ridiculous about insurance not covering testosterone for women. Symptoms of low testosterone in women include:
👉Vaginal pain and atrophy. No sex drive.
👉Energy: Fatigue, low energy levels, insomnia
👉Musculoskeletal: Muscle weakness, loss of muscle tone, bone density loss
👉Mental: Depression, anxiety, irritability, difficulty concentrating, memory loss
👉Skin and hair: thinning hair, hot flashes, night sweats, dry skin
👉Other: Weight gain, joint pains, urinary complaints including incontinence
Lifitng weights forces the body to produce testosterone.
I’m so very sorry you went through that pain. Sending you so much love and healing💕💕💕
Love your videos! Thank you for your feedback on the topic!!! ❤
You are so welcome❤
I’m aged 54 and hopefully after this month I will be post menopause, it’s taken 10 years and it’s been the most horrendous time with me having two D & C’s in one year due to prolonged and uncontrollable bleeding. Unfortunately my health insurance doesn’t cover HRT and I don’t earn enough each month to pay for it as it’s so expensive. Things have settled down considerably since my late forties but my heart goes out to any woman who is struggling, my advice is be kind to yourself and get as much rest as you can.
Thank you so much for sharing. Praying your symptoms continue to subside.❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing. So glad you found someone to help you.🙌💖
I was so very fortunate not to experience any menopausal systems
Now 72 and if I'm not mistaken my mom didn't suffer either
I hope my 2 40+ daughters will be as fortunate
With all the positive information out there the ladies today will be much better informed
Very informative video Lisa
Thank you beautiful lady
@@dianafox7188 find a new practitioner. When was the last time your practitioner checked your hormone levels?
Im going to need an eyebrow tutorial! They look amazing
Thank you! Coming soon❣️
There is a doctor that handles just menopausal patients in Southbury, CT
Thank you! What type of doctor? Can you please drop the doctors name for anyone looking?❤
Absolutely true! That’s why I stress to do your own research so you can decide what’s best for you🥰
I agree, here in the Netherlands they don t want to test your hormones, because they fluctuate? At least that is what my doctor is saying....horrible advice here and no help whatsoever...
I will absolutely watch Mary Claire Haver. My HRT and Hashimoto’s med are all from a compounding pharmacy, I have a wonderful female doctor who tests me and really cares. WHY AREN’T YOU TALKING ABOUT YOUR WEDDING AND NEW MARRIAGE?❤️❤️
That’s wonderful😍 I’m working on editing all the prerecorded videos before I open that topic on UA-cam ❤
💞
Sooo looking forward to watching this Lisa!!❤❤❤🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you for sharing this, it’s been helpful to me and I’m sure many others. God bless ✝️🙏❤️
You are very welcome 💕
Also watch Menopause Taylor, she’s very informative on this whole subject. She has so many videos and they’re very educational.
Yes I watched her as well❤
Dr. Heather Hirsch is also another menopause expert.
Thank you ❤
Your video is so helpful.
Thank you. And wow that’s wonderful!! I’m so happy you sailed through it😍🙌
I live in Connecticut too and I had to argue with my OBGYN to get HRT - she says to me, “are you sure you don’t want to go a more natural route “ I said, no, I want HRT - I suffered 3 years with hot flashes and thrashing around in the bed at night not getting a good night’s sleep and I wanted the HRT for my bones and all the benefits, my OBgyn argued with me that it doesn’t help bones- I really want a different doctor- I got my HRT and feel like myself again, she never tested hormones
Yes menopause is just not routinely taught in medical school. Thank you for sharing. I’m so very glad you found someone to help you and you’re feeling better❤
I havent watched in awhile
I like the new look.
Thank you. No eye makeup day ❤
Consuming animal fats and starting carnivore has saved me! We need animal fats for our bodies and brains.
I’m so glad that worked for you❤ I’ve heard of the same incredible results from post menopausal vegans. Everyone’s body is different❤

Thank you for sharing. I’m so very glad you breezed through it😍🙌
It’s so wild that the older generation does not want to hear anything about menopause!! I’m 45 & struggling I bring it up & they look at me like STFU! 🤫
Yes, that's because our parents were the generation that were misinformed and told you will get cancer if you take HRT. Also, once you pass a certain age you are out of the window to start HRT. The sooner the better if that's what's right for you ❤
It’s actually never too late to begin hrt. The 5-10 year rule is outdated. It’s just important to get cardiac screening and start low and slow.
Hi, thank you for the video. Could you please write what those hair growth vitamins were? Your hair is gorgeous!
Thank you! I had to stop taking them because i developed an allergy. This is what i use now. The LIA ORGANICS❤ www.amazon.com/shop/beauty101bylisa/list/33T3JNUNPYCU7?ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_aipsflist_EC1VPBP3XNNEBJTTS318&language=en_US
I find it comical that the medical profession with not think twice about giving hormones to children but a grown woman has to jump through hoops to get it, makes you wonder.
We just have to stay informed and educated so we can advocate for ourselves 🥰❤️
Thanks Lisa for sharing this topic. God bless ❤
You are very welcome 💖
Thank u so much for this valuable info ❤❤❤
You are very welcome💕
Thank you for sharing! I totally agree 💕
Menopause does not go away it lasts for the rest of your life. It's not like puberty. Symptoms for some may get milder or go away but you take menopause to your death ....
Yes true statement ❤
You look fantastic!
Thank you❤
The thyroid is an endocrine gland that produces hormones, it is not a hormone itself.
Me too
Same thing happened to me! Normal mammograms dense breast on HRT 50-56 I found a lump at 56 estrogen progesterone breast cancer. Yes proceed with caution! Dense breast get ultrasound. No family history !
@@suzanne296 Im so sorry. Hope you're doing ok.
HI didnt know you remarried. take care hugs connie
I will post a video about it after I post the prerecorded ones 🥰
I'm 56 and facing a total hysterectomy because of 14 fibroids in my uterus. In hindsight , I wish I had the procedure you had. I was informed about the procedure you had but didn't because I had no symptoms , they were small and was told they will shrink after menopause. Had a MRI and the biggest ones are 7cm and the rest are of varying sizes. I've got over the worst of menopause symptoms ( those dreaded hot flushes were the worst) now I might go through it for a second time because of the hysterectomy I am facing. I don't know what to do
Hang in there!! My gut feels you will be ok hormone wise since you’re through the worst of menopause. Sending so much love and healing ❤
Thank you Lisa , same back to you😘
Please don't do one long advert.
Hi lisa its very informatve video.but please tell us about less libido, painfull sex and no desires of sexual life during and after menopause.
Thanx lisa
I'm 124lbs. But I'm ok but nothing else I noticed on me
I’m so glad you’re doing well❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing… I have Hoshimotos myself, did your hair start to grow back after your levels got back on track.?
Yes my hair is doing great after my thyroid and all hormones got balanced. 🙌❤️
@@Beauty101byLisa that’s good to hear. Makes me feel better. Thank you!! Happy Holidays!
Yes it’s freezing here ☃️ So glad you’re doing well❤
Anna's Wild Yam cream
I tired this but noticed nothing :(
Lisa, if you hadn’t been a candidate for traditional HRT would you have tried bio identical ? Did you happen to find any legit info on BHRT in your extensive research? It’s overwhelming when trying to figure out who to trust.
I am taking Bioidentical HRT in a prescription cream. They both alter hormones❤
You're lucky. I tried compounded Testosterone, but it made my insomnia worse so I had to stop.
Oh no sorry that happened. I’m feeling the dose was not right for you. The goal is to get levels balanced and close to where your body has always thrived with those hormones naturally❤
In your opinion and knowledge, is it true that there is a 10 year window (since last period) in order for HRT to be safe?
That’s what I’ve heard. If I was out of that window and desperate for treatment i would get multiple opinions from menopause specialists. If you’re on Instagram you could try direct messaging Dr. Mary Claire❤ instagram.com/drmaryclaire/profilecard/?igsh=MXR0OTJzaXV2OHRsbQ==
I wish I could take hrt, but was told estrogen feeds fibroids.
Ugh that’s a bummer! Keep doing research for alternatives. Praying you find relief❤
There are many herbal remedies/supplements that help with menopause symptoms.
You will know right away if that doctor is not for you❤ Here is a list of menopause doctors and you can search in your area: portal.menopause.org/NAMS/NAMS/Directory/Menopause-Practitioner.aspx
i have hypothyroid well the one wich makes metabolism slow is hashimotos different
Hypothyroidism is Hashimoto’s a slow thyroid❤
Ladies just careful with hormone replacement stuff, a relative of mine self administered hormones and the cells in the cervix turned into cancer and found out late in the stage. 😢
I agree be careful and find a doctor you trust who will monitor you every step of the way❤
@ absolutely 💯
Are you an Autumn?
Yes i would say so. My skin is very olive❤
I take testosterone injections now and oral estrogen, progesterone
How are you feeling?
Am afraid this dr Mary is wrong about the whole thing
Thank you for your opinion. Would you like to follow up with why you feel that way?❤
I think that it's rather insane that the majority of Ob Gyn's don't help women with Menopausal issues. Like, NEWSFLASH this is not some strange new malady! Good grief 🙄
So true. That’s why we as women have to keep learning and talking about it❤🙌
Without a doubt I do believe in 'u are what u eat'!
Work on my physical and mental health daily and don't take a day for granted
Your health is your wealth!
Absolutely 💖🙌
Lisa….thank you so much for this video! It was very helpful. I was referred to my friend’s Naturopathic Doctor since I was originally diagnosed with Grave’s Disease. The doctor ended up recommending my medication also be made at Compounding Pharmacy which dramatically changed things for me during my menopause. Now my thyroid is closer to being hypothyroid and my numbers have dropped dramatically. She says I’m post menopause now which is a great feeling too! It was good for me to hear your story….💜🩷❤️
I’m so glad you found a doctor who is helping you🙌❤️
