UA-cam Music has been coming in clutch for recommending alternative listening music that has been needing but not knowing it. I’ve really started to get into outlaw country, thanks to Cory Marks. He opened for Travis Tritt back on Aug 4th at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally @ the Buffalo Chip Cory’s also just did a track with Sully Erna of Godsmack and another featuring Ivan Moody of FFDP, both of which features THE Mick Mars on guitars and Travis Tritt. He’s also done a track featuring Lzzy Hale of Halestorm, and another with DL of Bad Wolves Lakeview was recommended to me by UA-cam Music. Another artist is Tim Montana

Colter Wall and Tyler Childers is the only country I like so far but I'm going through my third Underoath phase currently so those guys are on the back burner for now.
The problem with country is the problem that presents itself here: songwriting. "Every country song sounds the same." That's been the meme (and largely the truth) for decades now. And this does not beat the allegations.
@@tastyenchilada modern country is southern pop music. It far closer resembles pop than country does, that's why it works. So you can just write a poppy metalcore song and sing with some twang = country metal. "Real country" so to speak is so different in its flow and mood it wouldn't fit with metalcore very well. You could maybe adapt some slow sad country songs to fit with shoegaze or sad boy stuff like Balance and Composure.
Today was the first time I heard country core listening to Bilmuri, and then I had this realization that Mitchell Tenpenny keeps showing up to collab with all these bands i've been listening to for years. First State Champs(not metal, but definitely not country), then Bilmuri, and now I'm seeing this.

Old MMF even the song Sharkbait by Capstan has that southern/country feel. I have not been a country fan my whole life...until this year, and they have been the band that made me get over the fear of admitting that I'm OK with country now. Just do whatever makes you happy, man.
I am not really surprised to see this sort of stuff really starting to pop up. Modern country when you look at the lyrics is pretty damn emo with the amount of times a song will be about a girl or break up it's just instead of "So cut my wrists and black my eyes" it's "Chug some beers and drive my truck." Add in that a lot of the musicians playing these days are metal heads who are paying the bills being session or touring musicians for a main country act it's not hard to see them start messing around in a jam session and something like this coming from it.
Check out Royale Lynn and her songs Death Wish (ft Danny Worsnop from Asking Alexandria), Redneck Rockstar, and Six Feet Deep. Not sure of any other female artist mixing the genres like this.
