- Who wanted this? A sequel to the 2016 sleazefest Sausage Party has ended up getting a tv series on Amazon Prime. And though it came out looking a little better than the Peacock Megamind Series... that's not a very high bar for praise. And after the original was full of genuine mature story beats and endless laods of immaturities. This 4-hour addition instead waters down the content to food puns to justify it's existence, alongside all sorts of attempts at shock humour to keep the spirit of the movie going. And it doesn't do a very good job. Here's out take on the admittedly terrible Food Party" Foodtopia. Or a better way to put it, The Sausage Party Amazon Series Is a Fever Dream...

I wished the story went towards the food start to expire and MOLDs into a like a zombie apocalypse realizing the food cannot survive with out the humans help. I feel like that would of been a way better premise then whatever this crap was

The weirdest thing is that the ending of the original Sausage Party set up an entirely different and far more interesting scenario. One that had our main characters going through a portal to the real world, to meet their VA's and their animators. Having the antics that would've ensued with that kind of situation.

I remember when I was like around 7 I was at a Chinese restaurant and there was a TV screen above a chocolate fountain where I was standing getting my sweet marshmallows dipped in the chocolate. And I see a trailer for "Sausage party" and I just kept watching and I asked my parents if we could go see it at the movie theater. The moment they turned to see what the movie was it showed the sausage guy and the weird lady f×king, and my parents made a concerned look and turned to me saying "no that movie isn't for kids-"

I like how they explained how the main character had his bite fixed for those who don't know the weenie that's in love the hot dog bread had a piece of him bitten off in the movie and that bite mark is gone.

@user-wx1hc3hu7 this could be someone's passion project, although I'd argue that passion is misplaced.
After the allegations of poor work conditions and threats toward Nitrogen Studios animators, Rogen should consider himself lucky other animation studios agreed to work with him. Even if not involved in the directing, as a main producer should have stepped in to resolve the issue. The fact the British Columbia Employment Standards Branch had to get involved to make sure all animators were paid, fully describes how little Rogen and other producers cared.

FYM The vast majority of it's reviews were positive and it was a success financially.
Amazon does this thing where they immediately start playing a new show after you finish one, no count down or anything. So i finished the most recent episode of The Boys and this show started playing. I thought it was a joke??! Like the hotdog was gonna say 'this is what Billy wants to do to supes 😢' or some shit. I thought it was going on weirdly long until the "Skip Intro" button appeared and then i finally realized it was just a whole new show Amazon started randomly playing 😭

As someone who worked on the show, it kept a lot of us employed when the animation industry was in ruin- it was a good production to work on with great people and yes a concept that isn't for everyone haha. i wasnt 100% on board at first but you do what you gotta do, and it grows on you lol.

The scene with the eggs cracked me up. Pun intended. And with the scene between the human and Frank, I was just staring at the screen like "What the actual f*ck" then cackled afterwards because it was ridiculous but the whole premise was funny and it was also a "What the hell did I just watch???????" laugh

I remember watching Sausage Party (college) and being completely traumatized to the orgy scene.
I noticed this show on Amazon Prime and asked myself, "When was THAT accounced?" And completely ignored it. Glad I did.

This is not a good show but I think if the whole season was just about the flood and how everyone reacted to it/ how they survive it and the aftermath would of been more interesting

I just bingewatched the show and it's very unique. I don't really know what to think it's very weird. You have to experience it.
My biggest question for the entire thing was: WHERE DID THE TACO GO?! She was the BEST character. Hands down.

I watched the whole thing with my boyfriend and besides the *ahem* scene with frank and the human guy, we were surprised it didnt contain alot of that adult humor the movie had. It was INTRESTING to say the least although i wont say in a good or bad way.
Amazon took a look at The boys, Invincible and Hazbin hotel and were like, "Hey these shows are popular and they swear a lot lets make another one."
My one positive opinion of this show was that I liked the human they brought in, his name's Jack by the way just fyi. I think the reason they focus so much on him is because in a way he's kind of a victim, realistically human's had NO idea food was alive, instead only the bath salts allowed them to tell, so this guy is basically forced to be high 24/7, solve all the foods problems, and have no choice but to eat his own kind in hopes of not dying, cause it's not like the food need to eat, he's basically adapting because realistically every other human (as far as we know) just kind of died due to circumstances, whether they heard food was alive and just went on a rampage, or the foods from other places DID also rise up for some reason.
All I will say is that episode 6... yeah avoid episode 6.

if I had to make a Sausage Party Animated series (for whatever reason) I'd make it so it's about them trying to overthrow Humanity rather than them already having done it and trying to make a society out of it
because then you could actually have them learn about the world without the obligation to have someone there to give all of them exposition that serves basically negative purpose
it could flesh out the world more (like explore the rules better instead of calling people who question this world's logic stupid) meet new characters (especially ones from outside the store, genuinely kind of disappointed this show didn't do that) and face some pretty interesting challenges. Like animals obviously, but also maybe they could actually have rotting and molding be a consistent problem and not just something that's only brought up when the writers want it to be. Then maybe they could try and find some way to help stop it for them, whether it be a real method of preservation or some BS like the Bath Salts, or maybe the finale could be them killing two birds with one stone by (somehow) plunging the world into a new ice age, so the weather is cold enough for them to stay refrigerated, and everything that could eat them is now dead (I'm now imagining them setting off all the nukes in the world to plunge the Earth into a Nuclear Winter and honestly that kind of sounds hilarious)

I really liked this series, as I did the movie. However, I'm hoping that we get a season 2 because this feels like it once again ended on a cliffhanger! I hate cliffhangers! 😡 What does the drone mean? Do they build their perfect Foodtopia under Frank's leadership? And is he gay with the human now? So many unanswered questions! Also the deaths of Gum, Lavash, and ESPECIALLY Brenda hit me pretty damn hard! I even teared up a little when Brenda died! 😭 I WAS NOT expecting that! Now she and Frank don't get their happy ending, which is very sad. How do you like that? This show made me sad about the death of some of the foods. Because they're not just food, they're cartoon characters with feelings and personalities. So, it hits harder when it's a major character death like Gum or Brenda as opposed to a random jar of mustard or a random donut y'know? The more time you spend with characters, the bigger impact their deaths have, Whereas if you know little to NOTHING about the character or just saw/met the character, the death doesn't really leave any impact. I will say I DID NOT see it "cumming"🤣 that Frank and the Human would have sex and he'd EJ on Frank! That was LEGITIMATELY shocking, and I see why they had to put a warning on the episode! 😮 Overall, still had a good time with this series, hope we get a season 2.

Nah. Vivzie’s work has a lot more thought and passion put into both series and has a much better sense of focus on its story, characters, and themes. This series feels like there’s no real focus and is just throwing random stuff together.
@@geoffreyrichards6079Exactly what I was thinking. Hazbin Hotel is actually entertaining, with a theme of redemption, the corruption of Heaven, and found family / deepening friendships. And the music is good. Also, we have the heartwrenching plot of Charlie and her dad forming a connection again and I very much felt like crying over it. And the animation is clean, vibrant and pleasant.
Every Viziepop series sucks but not enough to watch sausage party over it.
