Good video. But sounds like out of timing. Or in the best scenario carbs need to be adjusted... Kick ass work thou

I just bought an 05' FZ6 (same motor ) with a rod through the front of the upper case . Guy threw in a complete case . I've done a couple top end rebuilds but never split cases before . I'm watching a lot of videos . There's a three part series by Partzilla that helps a lot .

I 've watched your carb rebuild several times, truly appreciate that detailed vid. I did your cleaning method ..I did get it started..I know its going to need a sync. Now I cant get it started....I also set The idle screws @ 2 turns out...my question is do I turn the idle mix screws a little for a start up? .just notced after a run only with choke ...the first exhaust pipe is not hot, after water touch ..hope you got time for this. Thanks.

the right the side of the bike is an idle knob ,its near your knee .You have to turn it counter clockwise to correct or set an idle.
Other causes .Stuck or bound up throttle cable or choke(although it would stall the bike generally)throttle bodies stuck open partially.throttle sticking.throttle cable adjustment, throttle cable routing, the later would or can suddenly happen.but if its a new purchased bike its probably an idle adjustment made by someone in error or trying to keep the bike running.

factory specs are 26,600 valve check interval. I have over 40k on my R6 and only 3 exhaust valves needed adjusted.

There is something that i dont understand on those bike models. Why they sound like there were working with a cylinder out. I have a FZ6 with the same engine, and it sound just flawlessly, and i heard almost all old R6 sounding like this, like some cylinder not firing. Is the fuel injection on the FZ6? that make so much of a difference?

Wondering if you could help me figure out what I need to do to fix my engine? I'm putting the engine into an atv.
