Not a single pass to RB, no slants, very few passes to TE to stop blitzes. The play box was horrid. The offensive line isn't good either but a lot of the problems seem to be play calling. There were some similar head scratchers last year as well but this year seems to be worse.

Milroe didn’t get outplayed or out coached. Both turnovers were just a matter of luck or the o line not playing good. The defense was outplayed. The offense wasn’t perfect but they did what should have been enough.

Heupel has been great in every aspect except road games. He is 6-8 at Tennessee in true road games. If he can get that remedied, he can make that transition to elite status for the program.
Bobby Hill and Kalen DeVandy both lost to mid SEC teams and I think DeVandy may be one the hot seat soon. I don’t think he should be but the Bama fans (mostly bandwagon ones which make up a good percentage of Bama fans) are very quick to turn on their team, coaches, or players.
I have no idea if Arkansas is going to continue playing that well on defense but they were stopping Tennessee with a 3-2-6 defense. I wouldn't have thought that was possible.

How can you expect to run a high paced fancy offense when your just gonna run the same 3 run plays and a screen or 2. Its the same thing i said about joe milton last year and why he was so good before that. 1 year he had alex golish. The next he didnt, and its showing with nico too that the offensive cordinator is just not getting it done right now as a play caller. Oh and flags have been horrible too. For an offense that runs off mementum every time we finally do get momentum we make dumb mistakes snd it get taken back. Then we decide to run on 2nd and 15 for the third drive in a row. Were missing golish a lot more than people think and its starting to show
Tennessee’s O-Line (specifically both Tackles) is the main problem with the offense. LT Lance Heard got beat all game long! While that does allow too much pressure on a redshirt freshman, it doesn’t explain the entire picture. Arkansas played 3-2-6 defense pretty much the whole game. Tennessee’s WR’s just simply weren’t getting open in the VERY short time Nico had before the pocket collapsed due to abysmal O-Line play (5 couldn’t even stop 3!). I’m not making excuses. Just explaining what happened from what I saw. Yes, Nico made some bonehead mistakes (Don’t even get me started on last play of the game when he pulled a “Joe Milton”🙄), but Nico is only in his 6th start ever. We can’t expect him to know exactly what to do yet in a situation he hasn’t faced yet (3-2-6 defense). HOWEVER!… we CAN and SHOULD expect the coaching staff to know what to do, and what adjustments to make, which I’m not seeing they did in that game?! I mean they did seem to finally make adjustments late in the 4th quarter when their backs were against the wall, but by then it was almost too late, and did indeed end up too late after the fact. Yes, Nico made “freshman mistakes,” but the O-Line was the problem, and Tennessee’s coaching staff not seeing it and making adjustments to that problem is the main culprit to the cause for that loss. Hopefully Tennessee’s coaching staff wakes up and gets this turned around by this Saturday! GBO!!!🍊
Agree but the line issues would have been mitigated with short 1-2 second quick passes on slants to WR, HB roll outs, TE roll outs, etc. Not a single play like that was called while Arkansas called these plays on Tennessee and often got big games off of them. Tennessee's season and program, IMO, are now in jeopardy again and they are walking into a must win against Florida. If they lose that, it will start to feel like late 2016 Butch Jones.
@@volbound1700 I agree with those suggested adjustments. I personally think the extra TE’s (with the rollout option) could fix this specific situation against 3-2-6, or 3-3-5 defenses. I’ve also heard some folks suggest going I-formation with BOTH Sampson and Bishop to run Pass Pro. That might have been another option. I’ve also heard many folks suggest Heupel let Nico run if option 1, or 2 isn’t there. That might also work too?
Hog fan here but I'm usually more Eeyore than homer, but maybe Arkansas is a bit better than expected. We screwed up and let Ok St game get away from us and we NEVER beat A&M in Dallas and I think the Aggies are a bit better than we all expected them to be. TN losing to Arkansas is not as shocking as Vandy game. We've beat them 4 times in a row too. We just kinda got their number Even tho Texas is #1 there's a good chance we beat them too bc in recent years we usually beat them. You have not watched an OU game this year. The defense stopping OU is nothing to hang their hat on. Matt last saturday was mainly the oline tackels fault. I watched bluechip video and he shows all plays in 22 player formate and breaks down each play. Our wr where open and nico missed alot of them by holding the ball like a freshman that he is unsure if he should throw it. Now the tackels where the worst I have ever seen with a t on helment. Lance Hurd t star and John Campbell looked horriable. The good news is Campbell has proven himself already but Lance Hurd is a issue we got to fix.i think bama has bigger issues. First just start anywhere with the defence. They just are not good. Now the offence can be good but hasn't done it for a full game. Both teams have things to fix but I think vils can fix issues alot easier then bama can. Remeber I said this vols will kill gators and nico will start running because he is so dame good at it. You will see 12 personal on offence alot to help with blocking. Just watch nc state game vs vols and you will see how it works.

Tennessee’s WR’s just simply weren’t getting open in the VERY short time Nico had before the pocket collapsed due to abysmal O-Line play (5 couldn’t even stop 3!).
I’m not making excuses. Just explaining what happened from what I saw. Yes, Nico made some bonehead mistakes (Don’t even get me started on last play of the game when he pulled a “Joe Milton”🙄), but Nico is only in his 6th start ever. We can’t expect him to know exactly what to do yet in a situation he hasn’t faced yet (3-2-6 defense). HOWEVER!… we CAN and SHOULD expect the coaching staff to know what to do, and what adjustments to make, which I’m not seeing they did in that game?! I mean they did seem to finally make adjustments late in the 4th quarter when their backs were against the wall, but by then it was almost too late, and did indeed end up too late after the fact.
Yes, Nico made “freshman mistakes,” but the O-Line was the problem, and Tennessee’s coaching staff not seeing it and making adjustments to that problem is the main culprit to the cause for that loss.
Hopefully Tennessee’s coaching staff wakes up and gets this turned around by this Saturday!

Agree but the line issues would have been mitigated with short 1-2 second quick passes on slants to WR, HB roll outs, TE roll outs, etc. Not a single play like that was called while Arkansas called these plays on Tennessee and often got big games off of them. Tennessee's season and program, IMO, are now in jeopardy again and they are walking into a must win against Florida. If they lose that, it will start to feel like late 2016 Butch Jones.
@@volbound1700 I agree with those suggested adjustments. I personally think the extra TE’s (with the rollout option) could fix this specific situation against 3-2-6, or 3-3-5 defenses. I’ve also heard some folks suggest going I-formation with BOTH Sampson and Bishop to run Pass Pro. That might have been another option. I’ve also heard many folks suggest Heupel let Nico run if option 1, or 2 isn’t there. That might also work too?
Arkansas has beat Tennessee the last 4 times they have played, Why would anyone be surprised Arkansas won?
Hog fan here but I'm usually more Eeyore than homer, but maybe Arkansas is a bit better than expected.
We screwed up and let Ok St game get away from us and we NEVER beat A&M in Dallas and I think the Aggies are a bit better than we all expected them to be.
TN losing to Arkansas is not as shocking as Vandy game. We've beat them 4 times in a row too. We just kinda got their number
Even tho Texas is #1 there's a good chance we beat them too bc in recent years we usually beat them. Certain teams just have other teams number

You have not watched an OU game this year. The defense stopping OU is nothing to hang their hat on. Like I said after the OU game if that is their gage than the defense will highly be disappointing by the end of the year. Y’all the ones who praised them after the OU game. A team that is struggling. If OU had 1 of the main 5 receivers playing ,and Hawkins too, they probably could have won that game.

Matt last saturday was mainly the oline tackels fault. I watched bluechip video and he shows all plays in 22 player formate and breaks down each play. Our wr where open and nico missed alot of them by holding the ball like a freshman that he is unsure if he should throw it. Now the tackels where the worst I have ever seen with a t on helment. Lance Hurd t star and John Campbell looked horriable. The good news is Campbell has proven himself already but Lance Hurd is a issue we got to fix.i think bama has bigger issues. First just start anywhere with the defence. They just are not good. Now the offence can be good but hasn't done it for a full game. Both teams have things to fix but I think vils can fix issues alot easier then bama can. Remeber I said this vols will kill gators and nico will start running because he is so dame good at it. You will see 12 personal on offence alot to help with blocking. Just watch nc state game vs vols and you will see how it works.

Marttbegreat!!! Your not looking at it right. Bobby hills offense has a weakness and it's 3-3-5 defense! As a Texas fan coming from big 12 where use to have multiple teams running it that defense was made to stop olk when Bobby hill was oc and it worked. Olk head coach knew before game started!!!
