That new Exo Terra seems pretty cool! I use a 12x12x12 Exo Terra for my tarantula, so I'm not familiar with frogs... But I can relate to having to modify the tank! I had to take out the mesh and replace it with acrylic.
Would love a tank like this in the 60x45x60cm size for larger tree frogs. Will be interesting to see the cost of this tank in comparison to the older ones and how exploited it will be by Exo. That being said I definitely prefer the single-front pane design
Yeah it's a brand new product line, just launched this week. And I agree, it's about time the big manufacturers started making products specifically for frogs!
I like the new design. Great job explaining the new features and benefits of this tank! Nice music choice, and the calling frogs in the background make it perfect!
Thanks for showing this off, it looks great. I love that it has a full door in front. I love the exo-terras but the double door looks awkward in some more display-centric setups
Do you happen to have an update on how well it holds in humidity with it being stock? Or an update in general? Thank you for all you do. Much appreciated!!!
Great review! Then drain is a huge improvement! I really like the single door and lower front vent as well. When my juvenile Garg gets big enough this will be the enclose I buy for bioactive. Looking forward to it coming to the U.S.
I just got one of these new designs for one of my red eyed tree frogs. I can't for the life of me figure out ow to remove the front door to start the build. Any tips to remove this without breaking it? The older design seemed easier in this one thing. 😣
Hello. Could you please help me? I bought one of these terrariums yesterday but I can't understand where I insert the light on the underside of the hood. Any help would be much appreciated.
I see issues with a shortened 2" area for the drainage layer and substrate. How is the screen mesh on the top? Melo proof? It's unfortunate they didn't make it a little more customizable. Most people don't use monsoon's (because they suck), and it is likely you still need to get some glass or acrylic cut to help keep the humidity in.
Yeah, I guess you could run into issues with the short front in certain situations... You might want it deeper if you're doing a water feature or something but I think it should work fine most of the time, and I've always found the height of the front part on the standard Exo's to be way taller than necessary so I'm really liking the short front so far. I wouldn't say the tank is totally fly-proof, but I haven't noticed any flies escaping from it yet 🤷♂️ As for the Monsoon's, I think you may be underestimating how many people actually use them... Sure anyone with a more than a few tanks is going to go for a more robust system like a MistKing, but a lot of begginers or people who only have one or two tanks still go for the Monsoon because it's less expensive and has a much easier set-up since it doesn't require you to make your own reservoir. The new Monsoons also have a much better/higher pressure pump now so they are better than they used to be. That being said, you can still use that Monsoon hole with a small zip tie to easily strap a MistKing or other nozzle in the same spot and it's just as discreet.
I bought this tank and I can’t get the lid to come off. Supposedly it is supposed to lift when it is opened all the way open but mine doesn’t want to- and I’m afraid to force it. Am I doing something wrong?
Hey, thanks for the Video! Can you confirm the terrarium is "drosophila-safe"? I always had problems with fruit flys escaping from the older Expo Terra Terrariums.. :/
I wouldn't say it's 100% fly-proof, but I have yet to encounter a tank that is... It does pretty good with keeping flies in, but I think having occasional fly escapees is just a part of keeping dart frogs.
It's holding it pretty well, but I've had to partially cover the screen area because some of the moss closest to the screen was starting to dry out a bit... My house has been like 20% RH lately though so that doesn't help
Does anyone know the height of the front vent to the bottom he said they moved it down. I can see the space is considerable in the old tanks. Thanks for any help I appreciate it.
@@NorthernFrogger I was thinking about using it for an emperor scorpion but with the clay hydroballs and mesh substrate separater it's past the 3 inch mark. Not sure if that is enough and perhaps build it up nothing says it has to be flat. thanks for the info got some tthinking to do.
Yeah, so far it's keeping the flies in pretty well... In Situ are nice too, but don't they have sliding doors, meaning there is a still a seam down the middle of the glass? The other thing is I think these will be at a lower price point than the In Situ vivs
@@NorthernFrogger the in situ put a beed of silicone between the doors to keep them sealed. I also like how you can easily adjust the vents. Pricing is similar on the selva to exo terra, it is the amazonia that gets expensive with the light and fans.
Here in the UK we mostly use euro style Viv's for dart frogs and not even melonagasters can get out ... basically do they keep them in aswell or just Hydei
Ah yeah adjustable vents would be a nice feature. I wasn't worried about the doors sealing, just the visual of having a seam down the middle... Same issue I have with the original Exo Terras, but I really like the unobstructed view of this one piece door
Whoa. Jake Gyllenhaal working under cover up in Canada and became a frog whisperer? Sweet… JK 😉 Thank you for the comparison. It’s quite helpful. Question, how do you find the lower lip ( with the vent moved down)? Between the drainage layer and the substrate. The older one has a higher “lip” so there was enough room for more options for a water feature… - I know dart frogs do not require water features- I just enjoy doing them as I’ve done in many of the older Exo designs over the years. I’m tempted to get 2 of these new design 18 X 18 X 24’s.
Super cool! I wish they had these in 36x18x18. I just bought a classic used exo terra

Yeah hopefully they introduce some more sizes eventually... From what I've seen the msrp shouldn't be too much more than the original design.
I think they have one for tree frogs that’s 18x24x18” called Exo Terra Tree Frog Terrarium
Thanks a lot for this video, I didn’t know about those new products ! Finally they did something for dart frogs 🤙
Yeah it's a brand new product line, just launched this week. And I agree, it's about time the big manufacturers started making products specifically for frogs!
The double doors on Exo Terras are a real eye sore for me but this design I like.
Yeah these make much better display tanks!
I like the new design. Great job explaining the new features and benefits of this tank! Nice music choice, and the calling frogs in the background make it perfect!
Nice clear comparison, thank you!

Totally agree, the one piece door is a huge improvement for display tanks
Wonderful!
hey dude!! amazing video
Thanks so much! Glad I could help 😁
Awesome tank design.
cool video man!
Thanks!
Think I definitely need this tank..
Do you happen to have an update on how well it holds in humidity with it being stock? Or an update in general? Thank you for all you do. Much appreciated!!!
Have kept 3 tincs for 2 years. Keep humidity at proper levels. Use Mistking 4 times a day. I have never had water accumulate.
Great tutorial bro! I'm definitely gonna get one for a pair of Auratus.
thank you for this video

Yeah I'm stoked about the drain! I think these would make awesome gecko enclosures, especially the 18x18x24 "tree frog" one
@@NorthernFrogger for sure, 18x18x24 will be the one to get!
Where can I find it ? I don’t see it online
It may not actually be available many places yet, but I think retailers should start receiving them within the next few days...
I love the look of the new tanks. Are they any better for keeping fruit flies in?
I just got this tank for my fire belly toad and i love it, i just have to figure oht how to setup the draining system lmao
I cant find it online except for the description.
It was just announced this week so it may take a little time to get into the hands of the retailers, but they should be on the way!
Cant find the size of the lid mesh, and why they didn't use mesh at the bottom vent/door those holes will let the melanogaster flys pop out of those.
Looks cool, cut my family won't let me keep dart frogs :(

I'm not sure, I didn't bother to take the door off for this build
Hello. Could you please help me? I bought one of these terrariums yesterday but I can't understand where I insert the light on the underside of the hood. Any help would be much appreciated.
The light should go on top of the lid, not underneath
No problem with thiner false bottom?
No issues so far!

Hmmm... If I remember right there may have been a couple pieces of clear tape holding the top on, maybe double check for that
Why can I not find a video about setting up this damn drain 😂
I should have showed the drain setup more clearly, but I think Snake Discovery recently had a video that showed it pretty well...

I didn't, Exo-Terra provided it to me for the video

The old ones are about 6 inches to the bottom of the vent, and the new Frogs and Co is a little over 3 inches to the bottom of the vent

I would say so :)
Where can I get this tank?
They should be in pet stores soon, if they are not already!
but does it have a spot for the ReptiFogger ?
No it doesn't, I guess that would probably require cutting a hole in the screen portion...

It vent is a bit on the low side, it might be challenging with a water feature... It is a little higher on the 18x18x24 though
It's simply not deep enough for a bio active setup, why have a drain if you can't even put in a proper substrate?
Dangit I just bought the old model
Out of topic but this guy looks like Jake Gyllenhaal"from spiderman
Too small! I hope they design one much larger.
