The REV was in A7X until the Nightmare album but still created some songs with the Nightmare album
I have loved A7X since the start. I truly miss The Rev and I say this with the upmost respect for A7X and the members of this band too
When Jimmy passed, the level of Avenged Sevenfold went downhill and not with the music, but in their performances. I saw them live at this show LBC my first ever time seeing them and then several times during Nightmare and The Stage. They had their life sucked out of them, their playing got sloppy and they didn’t have the same energy on stage they looked bored and tired and just going through the motions. If that tells you anything about how much The Rev was their heartbeat, it’s true.
Now that does not mean they didn’t produce great music, but if you watch this entire DVD and then watch performances live after Nightmare, you will see a slump and I really hope that when they bring out new music, they can get back to this energy, still love these guys and support them
That whole concert is awesome and they ended the show with a little piece of heaven. Also, my brother and I saw them live in 2019 and they brought this same energy. Awesome band. Definitely one my favorites.
You should listen to the live version of Almost Easy from that same live show. That’s a proper energy pile driver of a song

i think the ffdp comparison is apt. they're both old-school styled rock bands all about glitz and glamour sorta, they combine hard hitting but easily accessible rock riffs with very emotional slow soft sections

The Rev doing backup on Critical Acclaim live in this show is one of my all time favourites! Hope you guys give that one a try!

You definitely have to react to Afterlife, it’s my personal favorite by A7X and I imagine you guys would love it too. Don’t react to the music video version though because it takes out all the parts that make it such a unique song. A lyric video would be best mainly because the songs lyrics tell such a cool story.
This album and Waking the Fallen are start to finish top tier music. RIP Rev

This whole Live In LBC A7X concert DVD is dope
This song, by the band, was described as a pleasure through killing type of deal in terms of lyrically. Easily one of the hardest guitar solos on the record right next to afterlife. There is no picking tricks or anything like that it's all trillpicked which is basically where you judt pick it as fast as you can and theres 1 oddball note up 1 string that makes it hard to play for me personally. Anyhow, great video👍

I ALMOST went to this show, my best friend had gotten us tickets and then it just soo happened that my dad had booked a trip for us to visit a couple of colleges in hawaii for me to transfer to. And I couldnt reschedule them so I couldnt go to the show. And then in that same year....the Rev dies. I will probably regret not going to that show for the rest of my life honestly.

Yess. Subgenre helps categorize some music to some extent, but tbh i dont really care that much. You can call it rock, metal, deathmetal or anything as long it slaps, i love it lol.

If I remember correctly, I heard an interview on Octane years back that they brought in members of 3-6 Mafia to help with the bass line on this song. Maybe I am just pulling this out of my ass but If you get a chance listen to this with a good system.

Avenged Sevenfold has been my favorite band since about 2010. Sadly just after “The Rev” passed, I understand I’m biased obviously, but I just don’t see how anyone can not enjoy them. Their live playing is unbelievably close to the studio versions, even when Matt had to stop screaming after WTF.
The Rev was on 4 albums, technically 5 but he only demoed on nightmare. And 2 albums without him, again technically 3.

Thankfully they sound close to the same live as in the studio. Normally hate live videos. The sound is almost always inferior.

Songs like Mystery, Nothing ( which was shot in their living room during Covid lock down ) Their original rock ballad Sail Away ( Beautiful ) Not Affraid Extended Version, Dear Father. They're all great. Wendy Dio wife of Ronnie James Dio reached out to Liliac to cover The Last In Line for RDJ's Cancer Awareness Benefit and they had 2 weeks to not only learn it but play it live and it was....Amazing. the video is Awesome. Please react to these guys, I've been asking for months and I really hope you do. You will be blown away!
You guys should check out God damn off their latest album The Stage.
That is the way music should sound live! They sounded just like the album. Love that! Not a lot of groups can sound like what they record. Metallica for example I've seen them probably 20 times in the distant past and loved the show but the music and especially the lyrics were off key. Shadow crushed these vocals and the music was dead on point! 🤘🔥

A7X is in a category of their own. I have wanted to find another band to follow because their sound just isn't what it used to be. However, there have been a few good songs since Jimmy died. But I haven't found a similar sound or feel since hearing these guys.

I definitely wouldn't compare them to FFDP lol. A lot more substance in A7X's music, especially lyrically, imo. Their first two albums before their mainstream success were heavier than anything FFDP has ever dreamed of doing btw lol. Just sayin.

Hey guys, nice reaction. Always love seeing people enjoy the same music i love. Might be too much to ask for or a strange request, but i was wondering if you could react to my new song "To All that I've betrayed" by Ardere Mortem, it's my solo project. Not the greatest mixing, I'm very limited by what i have available. I don't even have mixing headphones, or headphones at all in general. "To all that I've betrayed" is a song i started writing when i was 16, i had the idea since but i never recorded it because i didn't have where to do so.
